As a bulgarian Ive always seen bulgarias middle age history as very interesting, 3 bulgarian khans were at the verge of invading constantinople from the byzantines, but khan krum decided to sign a peace treaty taking eastern thrace from the byzantines, not the capital. Later Simeon the great was at the walls of constantinople, but he chose not to invade the city, later Samuel of Bulgaria was going to launch a campaign which was most likely going to succeed, but for an unknown reason he was killed in thessaloniki
