I'm an avid hiker and take my dog out into the Scottish Highlands most weekends I also have a bag to put her in and after trail and error I've found that 20k is her max so I usually max her out at 10-15k and put her in the bag (so she's not to tired the next day, especially important if we're camping). When I'm rambling or having to use my climbing gear I also put her in the bag as it's the only safe way of going about that. When out in winter I also put her in the bag more as she gets cold easily and when she's wearing her coat and boots she sweats more so gets cold easier. Basically what I'm trying to say treat your wee sausage like you would I'd you where taking your child out with you except that it can't talk to ye and that it's small and light enough to out in a bag that you can still carry on.
You have to be extra careful With her jumping on and off big rocks. My Dachshund has developed serious column problem and the vet told me that Dachshund should never be allowed to jump even to beds,we're supposed to put them on the bed and help them down it to avoid this kind of problem. Só be careful.Best wishes
I've watched a few of your videos now it's time to comment. I love daschhunds to begin with but stella is absolutely beautiful I'm glad to see she is getting plenty of exercise and goin on fun adventures.
Lifelong dachs owner here. Your advice is excellent. I believe you are using a light harness with Stella? I.e., the leash is not pulling on her collar at the neck?. Very wise, and smart to advise your viewers on the importance of a good harness for dachshunds, safely distributing the weight and the pull of the leash. I have no sales connection to the Puppia line of harnesses, but do like their wide straps, and good chest coverage for that deep dachs chest. Plus, they are cute, light, and wash very well.
Holly, I just got my mini Daschund and she’s just so adorable! She’s all black, and owns every piece of my heart♥️… what I’d like to know from you is, when did you start getting Stella ready for using the toothbrush? My lil Roux (Roo) is 9 weeks old.
How old were you when you started taking Stella on walks? My dachshund is 5 months and he will walk a little bit around the park but on sidewalks around the neighborhood he refuses to walk. He’ll just sit down or sniff peoples yards or bark at cars or freeze up and stop and listen. I wonder if he just gets bored as well on sidewalks or if there’s not enough to smell.
My dachshund is only 3 months and has been inside up until he got his last set of shots. He does not like going outside! What would you recommend to ease him into being okay going outside and car rides?
My Doxie just doesn’t like to walk! I don’t know what it is! She loves playing at the dog park and walking in certain areas but just doesn’t like going on walks. Any experience with this?
Beat dogs ever. I will always have them. It’s actually pronounced Dachs-Hund which translate to badger dog and only the stanadard would hunt badger the miniature would hunt rabbits and small game. A lot of people still call it dash- hound.
The pronunciation of dachshund is often bungled by English speakers. Dash-ind and dash-hound are among the more common pronunciations, but both of those are technically incorrect. How To Pronounce 'Dachshund' ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6aveG0N6Jtc.html
