It's your Hypothesis. Hypothesis is an explanation of something without evidence/data before testing. And Theory is an explanation you formulated after testing.

Thanks for the update on your chicken breeding progress. You're lucky to have a black Australorp in with the group. They're so calm and friendly.

Oh, I need to follow this closely! I'm doing my first incubator hatch right now. It's been a long time since I've had chickens, so this has been all a brand new experience. I've got 28 brahma eggs in a Matixcoopx. I ordered from three different breeders and got a mix of lavenders, isabellas, black, partridge, blue/black partridge and blue/black splash partidge. The first 12 all came with detached air cells or saddled air cells. The second group came with all detached air cells, and the third group came in perfectly. I've also done the hydrogen peroxide method. I did my first sneak peek on candling the first 12 eggs and know that at least 6 are developing. I quickly realized I need a better candling method. So, as soon as my candler gets here, I'll have a better count on those first 12, and it'll be time to check the next 8. I ended up buying a second incubator for lockdown since I had too many days in between deliveries. I'm working on upright stands for the detached air cell eggs to keep them upright for hatching day to see if that helps. I read that the detached air cell babies usually have too much fluid in their eggs, so I am watching the size of the air cells very closely to make sure they're growing enough. I can always move any fuller eggs to the second incubator for a drier incubation if needed. Please make sure you keep your incubator updates coming! I'm watching every single incubation video I can find right now.😊

Currently doing my own bit of research on dry/wet hatching and detached air cells in shipped eggs, also saw the same video of the guy doing wet/dry side by side. I bought two different sets of eggs from different sellers and they arrived a day apart. I know they say to let them rest for 12-24hrs after shipping but the one batch had already been sitting for a day so the second batch only sat for a few hours to get to room temp before I set them in the incubator. Right now they are 7 days in with the wet method. Candled them all and there is definitely more good ones in the batch that was able to sit for 24hrs but those ones are also 3-4 days more fresh. The second batch had 4 duds I pulled out and one for sure has a detached, free floating air cell it is alive and developing. Kinda rooting for the little guy and decided to prop it big end up in a little cup with paper towel. Now I'll be turning it manually about 5 times a day. Hoping for the best as I'm pretty invested in this one egg seeing as it is also the smallest one.

I’m doing a dry incubation myself right now. I’m very limited on space atm so I’m going for some bantam chicks that lay well. When I move over the summer I’ll definitely be adding the Brahma’s to my flock. I’m also going to be breeding them(the bantams).

I'm so curious on how this turns out! I'm dealing with shipped eggs, I have quite a few detached air cells and saddled air cells. I commented above with the specifics of what I'm trying, but I am so interested in how others are hatching chicks. Please, please leave updates!

@@evilangel713 Yes I’ll definitely update, I have a few quick shorts up. My chicks should be hatching any day now. Out of 22 I had 5 un-fertilized eggs and 3 quitters. The last 14 are all now in lockdown. I have added warm water to the incubator for the hatching period and it’s up to about 40-50%. I don’t want to go any higher as I don’t want to drown the chicks. I didn’t have any air cell’s displaced they were all intact. Sorry I can’t offer any help because I haven’t dealt with it.

That particular incubator is not recomended for dryhatching. But mostly it's a warranty thing.
