Can EVERYONE Get Over 400km in Homerun Contest? (Part 1) -- Smash Bros Ultimate 

EDIT: Since I'm seeing some folk prove me wrong in the comments about the four characters who I couldn't succeed with, I'll show those successes/better attempts down below. I'll keep updating as I see more, and I'll also include an update in Part 2 Decided to shorten my pin comment. Yes, thank you for the comments, but I did know that the tipper bat sends sandbag farther. For characters that already got over 400km without it, I decided not to try to get higher, since the roster's too large for me to get world record with everyone. And for Metaknight, every time I tried to shift his position to hit the tipper, I just barely ran out of time, and could never get it quite fast enough. Admittedly, I DON'T think it's impossible for him to get over 400km, but I'm not as proficient with the bat as some other folk are. Please understand. If you managed to get over 400km, though, tell me asap! I'd love to see it. Edit: ZSS, the one I thought was impossible was actually very not impossible. A disturbing thought: if a character is nerfed, their world record might become unbeatable.

I am still in shock because there is a game in which Sans, Cloud from Final Fantasy, Mario and Joker compete to see who can send a blushing sandbag the farthest.

for the metaknight what you have to do is hit the tip of the bat because that does more damage and knockback

Good luck with Lucario. Unlike with Olimar or Hero, who get special accommodations for their gimmicks, Lucario is stuck doing things without any aura.

I really like how the hit timings of Jigglypuff go really well with that part of Mass Destruction, including Zelda's final hit!

I like the part where the sand bag was flying

joker gets arsene, wario gets like half charge waft, and yet lucario gets.... 0 aura. Joker and lucario weren't in this one but just as a heads up, they did lucario dirty. I don't even main him, it's just depressing. My high score with him isn't even half of my second lowest.

Jesus CHRIST Roy is nuts. It's like that move was designed to break this mode in half. I'm very curious to see if anyone can even come close to matching his record. I doubt it, but I've been proven wrong before. Keep grinding, kiddo. The world needs this information.

Lucario is very difficult to get over 400km. The WR for him is like 370km. The easiest is probably Roy/Chrom and Ganondorf.

Pro-Tip: As far as I've seen, the best teams for far-launching (and I mean, like, 2.5k Km or more) are 2 Ganondorfs, 2 Roys, or either of the two paired with Pirahna Plant, who can use side B and Neutral B to rack up percent quickly.

I just realized. We can use this as a physics simulator to figure out exactly how much force is behind each attack and what their strength would be IRL. It also helps us understand what % does in this game relative to real world damage

Now i feel good about my 403. Something km with sheik. Our sequences are similar but you have more bat play. Super sick!

Keep in mind that Move Staling applies to Homerun Contest too! If you can find 3 good damaging moves on a character, try alternating between them to minimize power loss from staling.

Home run contest: no rng Hero: Dies

Here’s a combo I found for dedede, give it a shot :) Start with an uncharged smash attack and immediately input a Gordo ( side special) aimed up. The Gordo will hit 3 times, and after the third hit, inhale it quickly and it’ll hit the sandbag and then rebound to hit it a second time. Use an up special, grab the bag and let ‘er fly

if everyone can get over 400, then see if everyone can get over 500, then eliminate the ones that cant and continue to 600, 700 etc

a lot of these you dont seem like youre going for the tipper of the home run bat, which could make a difference (especially for meta knight) im sure youre probably aware that the tipper hitbox exists, but it really makes a pretty massive difference in HRC. edit: upon watching further you definitely went for it with pit/dark pit so just ignore me i guess lol

Try to optimize Plant to get exactly 420 km. Maybe 420.069 km, but that's hoping for a lot, I know.

Seeing you flawlessly pull off these absurd combos makes me realize how bad I am at this game.

Sandbag just read the Dragon Scroll and became the Dragon Warrior so getting hit just feels ticklish
