Just because I can, I decided to to put all the lap times done. I know you'll likely do one on the next episode, but who cares anyways? 1.- Ferrari F399 - 2:42.3 - 361 Km/h 2.- Red Bull RB20 - 2:48.9 - 326 Km/h (How tf did I beat cars so much faster than it on the straights? By being OP in the 5 corners that actually mean anything) 3.- Williams FW31 - 2:49.2 - 335 Km/h (DRS wasn't a thing in 2009) 4.- Ferrari SF16-H - 2:49.3 - 334 Km/h (Wonder how fast it could go with DRS and those 370 Km/h speeds those cars could reach) 5.- Porsche 963 - 2:49.5 - 358 Km/h (Hypercars/LMDh cars are much faster than people give them credit) 6.- Lotus 98T - 2:50.3 - 354 Km/h (What a fucking monster) 7.- Sauber Mercedes C9 - 2:50.7 - 387 Km/h (Highest top speed in the series. Horrendous on the few corners there are.) 8.- Toyota TS050 - 2:51.1 - 347 Km/h 9.- Mclaren MP4/5B - 2:55.3 - 326 Km/h (How tf is it faster than the FW14B and 905 is beyond me) 10.- Peugeot 908 HDI - 2:55.5 - 363 Km/h (Takes way too long to reach its top speed) 11.- Peugeot 905 Evo 1C - 2:56.0 - 346 Km/h 12.- Williams FW14B - 2:56.3 - 330 Km/h 13.- Porsche 962C - 2:56.3 - 366 Km/h (Just placed it lower for how horrendous it's on the few corners to lose so much time.) 14.- Toyota GT-One - 2:58.8 - 330 Km/h 15.- Ferrari 312 T2 - 3:04.6 - 336 Km/h 16.- Porsche 935/78 - 3:05.9 - 367 Km/h 17.- Porsche 917K - 3:12.0 - 349 Km/h (But it did 385!!! That was the 917 LH, in 1971, shut up) 18.- Lotus 72D - 3:12.1 - 320 Km/h 19.- Ford GT40 MKIV - 3:18.7 - 347 Km/h 20.- Ferrari 312/67 - 3:23.1 - 300 Km/h 21.- Ford GT40 MKI - 3:32.7 - 321 Km/h 22.- Jaguar D-Type - 3:47.8 - 285 Km/h (Way too fast on the corners. It went faster through Maison Blanche than the GT40's) 23.- Ferrari 250P - 3:50.5 - 297 Km/h 24.- Maserati 250F - 3:55.7 - 289 Km/h 25.- Lotus Type 25 - 4:02.6 - 260 Km/h (Top Speed? What is that?) Yeah, most cars could have gone quicker or have higher top speeds, but eh.... Who cares anyways?
Indeed I will propose some statistics in the last video, but your work is highly appreciated as it summarizes here the times, thanks ! Yes, each single lapped time could be improved a few seconds ; but since this is the case for every entrant, I think that it roughly preserves the hierarchy between them. For the top speeds, of course I adjusted the obvious settings (gears ratio, aero load, RPM limiter, Turbo boost limiter), as well as some less obvious ones (toe, rear/end suspension height). The next step would have been to tweak the parameters of the car in the .ini files, which I did not have the time to do, but most mods get it roughly correct IMO. The Lotus Type 25 truely was from an "unfair" era in terms of rules... And it is hard to find accurate IRL top speed measurements, but it cannot be much higher than this I suppose.
@@jeffery7281 haha it's already on the way, the video should be released soon. It's on the top of the current ranking, yes. But not on the top of the next ranking.
You are right, the gt-one should have much better top speed. As I love this car I tried the best mod I could find, and it was this one. Should have tweaked smth in the parameters to make it more realistic from this point of view.
I assume most of the cars used here are mods?. The accuracy of mod cars is questionable. The Williams FW14B for example, I am assuming you are using the lowest wing settings, yet it tops out at 330kmh. In the German GP of 1992 at the old Hockenheim (with the long straights) the Williams were reaching over 340kmh down the longest straight.
Many of these mods just copy physics from another vehicle so who knows the validity of any of these tests. Another aspect is that racing teams were allowed to use completely different aero packages for high speed, low downforce tracks so good luck finding solid data on the true performance of a historic race car with a different configuration.
Please, correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that the LMP1 Toyota that broke the Le Mans record? If so, these results make no sense. It should be much faster that the Porsche hypercar.
Hey, this video gives me the idea to try with the 2018 VRC Indycar mod, Road vs Oval. If anyone is interested : ROAD OVAL S1 27.4 27.5 S2 1:19.6 1:12.5 S3 1:36.8 1:31.8 Lap 2:56.4 2:44.3 Top Sp. 323 kph 391 kph Min Sp. 318 kph 374 kph Muls Br. 160 m 280 m Or because Indycar : Road did a 170.6mph lap and Oval did a 183.3mph lap :) Also, I made a lot of mistakes with both cars and I didn't pay attention to the fact that I was driving on a fast and not optimum track.
Hi, actually I did prepare F2004 vs R8LMP in the original video, but decided to remove it since it is very similar to the 1999 duel (i.e. : F1 is extremely dominant). The time of the F2004 will be shown in the next video. The time of the R8 is about 2:57.
You didn't hear this from me but you can find a lot of good mods for free by searching something like "assetto pirate spreadsheet" its a spreadsheet with links to hundreds of great mods The downloads are very... let's just say "unofficial".
It is incredible, seeing what you indicated in the comparison between the FW14B and the 905 EVO that the only circuit in which the endurance cars can fight against the F1 is in Le Mans, a circuit in which more than 50% of the lap is straight line and that was what the endurance cars were specially created for, while the F1 cars that were created for the opposite still beat them, because on a really complete circuit that for me the sarthe is not, there is no no point of comparison and the F1 show that they are the pinnacle of automotive engineering
@@joshmoment42 and Even a formula 1 from a next season like the Ferrari SF71H, Mercedes W09 could beat it, with all the regulations, and obviously the Mercedes W11 Also but two years after
Le Mans prototypes are built for endurance racing. F1 cars are not. Most of the f1 entrants would have their engines exploding before an enfurance race ends. (perhaps with the sole exception of the RB20) That gives them a big advantage in a short run like this.
Less weight doesn't equate to better stopping power, the advancements in braking technology as well as regen braking on the new stuff is miles ahead. You're talking about a car that's nearly a 10 years old Vs the stuff they're producing today.
@@bzilla-d4i man, this 10 years old car is more fast than actual car( you can drive than in various sim games to test). Better brake point, better aero and better aceleration, less top speed. In video brake point os 275m....correct is less than 200m, with chicane at 335m brake is 150m(347 with no chicane in video) Actual car i say lmh....not f1(f1 is another world)
@@fabulouscarcharts5467 i know the ferrari and the 919 have huge age gap between them, but would you make a video on old le mans with the f2004 vs 919 evo or at least some lmp car who could keep up with that red monster?
Ha ha, you think so ? It's a group C monster after all. Engine was designed before Hunaudières chicanes appeared. Edit : but I agree that the braking power is suspiciously high. The grip itself and the engine power, though, seem really huge IRL
@@SamuelC558The Toyota TS010 had enough 4.5 tons of downforce and broke two drivers' ribs during testing. They were built much more for shorter tracks on the WSC calendar than Le Mans. Mercedes and Jaguar even ran their older cars at Le Mans despite having 3.5L cars ready because they didn't really work. Only Peugeot and Toyora really masteref the new formula at Le Mans.
