Did you recently get a cream or some other skincare product with retinol in it? I seem you remember you might have. If you have been using that it might explain some of the peeling.
I totally forgot to tell you that I have a possible solution for the problem with your husband's ring. Try surgical or stainless steel. Not only is waaaay cheaper than platinum (a search of "stainless steel band" and it came up with dozens of options, a plain band was as low as $8.98) it is non-corrosive and doesn't scratch. A friend also reacts to gold and he went this route and hasn't had a reaction since. I hope this helps! 😊
caffeine is a diuretic and will dry you out completely. for every 8oz of dr pepper drink 16 oz of water. so cut back your pop/coffee intake to a couple a day ( i know it's very hard to do ;) ), and drink 2 of those teal water bottles of water a day. your skin and hair will thank you. your bladder not so much.
@@kiraevony was going to say the same thing, I used too much retinol + exfoliating ingredients and my face peeled the same way. gentle cleanser, moisturizer with ceramides, and rosehip oil, it cleared up in a week
If your hair and face (and anywhere else) is all of a sudden getting really dry it might also be lack of overall hydration. I get like that this time of year and have to drink more water and electrolytes to balance out the drying. If you struggle with drinking water try drinking something that adds electrolytes, like liquid iv or body armor (be careful of the sugar though lol). Also as others mentioned retinol can cause drying like that. I have a hard time with retinol so I switched to bakuchiol and that is less harsh for me.
For the boxes - find a local shelter that helps cat colonies. I have a friend with a feel cat colony and I give her my boxes for the cats in the winter.
I'm with you, Alexandria! I swear "reverse Seasonal Affective Disorder" is a legitimate thing - I get miserable and depressed and angry when it gets hot.
I was diagnosed with reverse SAD about two decades ago, so I think it's a legitimate thing... I was put on a low-dose SSRI for it because it was affecting me being able to function. I also wear the highest level of SPF, big floppy hats and UV blocker sunglasses to dull down the brightness...not that it's necessarily because of it, but because it's good to do anyway, and it seems to help a bit.
I thought I was the only one that didn’t like summer,I get sun allergies bad headaches,I get sun burn with in five minutes of being outside, the heat makes me sick to my stomach,my skin peals like a snake etc.Alexandria, sweet girl, thank you for bringing joy to my world,by the way,I drink a lot of water,my bottle water is from 7:am to 12 midnight,I drink 4 to 5 bottles a day,and my skin still peals.❤I hope your baby is still doing better, lots of love and prayers 🙏🏻🕊❤️
Oh your not the only one. I live in Texas and I honestly feel like I’m allergic to the sun. It doesn’t even have to be 5 minutes and my skin immediately freaks out so I have to wear long sleeves all year long. But I think it’s genetic because my cousin has it too he says he itches so bad he almost wants to take a knife to skin and our grandmother would blister in the sun so we probably got it from her. (I’m just grateful, my mom’s side probably lessened it for me.🙏🏻)
If I’m in the sun too long I also burn, then get a bad sun rash. I have dark hair which soaks in all the heat… I have to guzzle water, the sun triggers my migraines…
Stationary goblin here. Never let anyone tell you what to do with your notebooks! And there is nothing wrong with being excited about getting a notebook. They're fun AND useful! On another note, those marked bottles totally help with water intake. Glad you have one. 😊
My skin used to do that and I started using a salicylic face wash ( I use the cerave!) And over time it's helped so much! Worth giving a try, just remember everything with skin care can take 3-6 month before it works.
Glad to know my husband and I aren't the only ones who split up the bathrooms. The exact same way too. The shower is the same size in both but the hallway one has a huge rainfall showerhead.
Been thinking about Tater. I hope he is doing good. My animals are my life and to see them uncomfortable or in pain is so difficult. You are such a great mom. Your puppies are lucky to have you.
When you said what you did about your bathrooms- my jaw dropped! That's literally the same as my husband & me 😂 our hall bath has a full tub/shower while the "master" bath in our home was flipped from a closet, so not only does it have the tiniest standing shower but no fan (just a window) & the smallest amount of elbow/breathing room otherwise lol so he gets it all to himself & for the most part the hall bath is "mine" 👏 too funny the relatability of some things!
The best wallet I have found is first a cell phone case. It has a cover that holds cards and a small pocket for cash. It fits well in my pocket, maybe something to look into
We need to get you a slimmer card case or one of those sleeves that sticks to the back of your phone bc that wallet is too big if you already hate wallets 😭!!! Also… buy the farmacy honey halo moisturizer. It got ride of the eczema on my eyelid. Along with the origins avocado sleeping mask, I wear them together at night. They are life saving. I can’t express that enough
I use a bullet journal for my business notes, because you can easily divide pages into boxes. Bullet journalling is not just making pretty pages ;) it’s making the pages work for you! So I can highly recommend trying different methods of using it because it helped my ADHD brain A LOT
I like that it stays light out longer during the summer, but hate the disgusting Midwest humidity, blood thirsty fleas, ticks and mosquitoes… mowing the grass which I’m allergic to. But bonus: baseball. I’m a huge cardinals fan. Loving all of these videos ❤
@@doedarling1215 I spent one summer outside 12 hrs a day and ended the summer so sick. I slept 4 days straight because I couldn’t move. I was sent to an oncologist because they thought I had cancer. I try to avoid the heat lol
@@tonyaworkman1633 oh no, that's horrible! Was it heat stroke, stress on your body? My grandmother is actually allergic to the sun, she had to wear long socks over her arms when I was a kid. Now she just doesn't go out.
@@doedarling1215 it depleted my white blood count. I had almost none. My oncologist said she thought it was some sort of virus, but was stumped on it because she had no explanation. I had every blood test imaginable lol
I have fine hair and my ends get super dry. I just recently learned how to treat that. You need like three products a good shampoo and conditioner, hair mask, a good leave in conditioner after shower to seal in the moisture, and a light bonding oil to keep on ends between washes. I have noticed a big difference following these steps. Hope this helps 😁. Also it sounds like you need a good exfoliator and moisturizer. I use good molecules pineapple rice exfoliator it's super gentle and not grainy. 😊
Alexandria, if it helps at all, my hair is so thick that if I wear high ponytails or buns I get migraines. So there is some advantage to thin hair! I love those high hair styles and I can never make them work because my hair is too heavy. I know it can be hard to think positively of things that cause you so much stress, but if you're looking for something to be happy about to make it less frustrating there is at least one!
Alex I felt your comments about your skin in my soul 😂 I have eczema that flares up around my mouth, and when it does it looks like my skin is flaking off under my makeup. The best things I've found to help are products that restore and support the moisture barrier! It's made a tremendous difference for me, so maybe that might help?
Hi love from southeast Kentucky ❤ as always thank you for the video sharing your goodies with us. What I do for my extra dry skin is after I take a hot bath or shower or during it I take a face scrub and use after I use my regular face wash or I will take a semi rough face sponge/loofa and gently exfoliate my face then after I’m out of the shower I add to my face a good facial oil, let it soak in then I load my face down with a good facial moisturizer 🥰 I do that each night and it truly has been helping 🥰 I hope tater is doing well and I’m sending love and prayers that way
Thank you for another videos I absolutely love them. In England we don't do many subscriptions that I know of so I find your videos really interesting. It's nice to see you smiling the last few videos you seem more happy than you were. More videos please! 💕
I actually loved Fab Fit Fun! It’s awesome you can choose a lot of the items and the non skincare/makeup things I use all the time. I can’t afford it now but once I can I’m getting it again!
My "drink more water" tip is a bit of brain hacking where you get a glass of water and a glass of something you enjoy drinking -- mine was sweet tea, Alexandria's is Fresca, yours might be a diet coke or juice, whatever, doesn't matter -- and every time you take a drink of the thing you enjoy drinking, follow it up with a drink of water. I trained my brain to actually enjoy and crave water doing this because I think the close proximity of drinking the water after something I really enjoyed made my brain think I also really enjoyed water. Now I drink more water than just about anything else and feel much less guilt when I have a coffee or a tea.
Thank you for showing the dry patches on your face. Mine randomly gets like that and I get so self conscious about it and none of my friends have that issue. Glad to know I'm not the only one.
Drink that water. Add a slice of coconut lemon or orange. I prefer mine straight up. Those sodas, even diet, that have caffeine will dehydrate you and your skin. So put the water bottle to use. I still drink a soda or two but I drink a half gallon or more of water per day. It really does help.
Alexandria….. if you don’t IMMEDIATELY make Wren and Tater a box fort as a video, ima be mad that you gave me the idea of you having a box fort, and not delivering on it 😂😂😂 let’s be real, you are helping to fill the Jenna Marbles sized hole in my heart, and I need dogs having fun with a box fort NOW!!!
as i get older i hate summer more… i’m probably autistic and as i’ve learned about that and observed its affects on me i’ve noticed i do get more sweaty and overheated easily… i used to play outside barefoot on the hard black dirt for hours in 90-100f in the summers, meanwhile i threw up yesterday because i forgot to turn on my ac and i was walking around cleaning and stuff and i got too hot. it was 77f in the apartment. it’s wild to see the difference
A little tip to help with water consumption is adding a squirt of lemon juice to your water, almost like a weak lemonade without the sugar. I started doing that on the recommendation of the doctor I see due to kidney stones as it's suppose to help prevent them, I guess. If you're getting adequate fluid intake from other sources, then you don't have to aim for the amount of water that you're told to, it's more about total hydration and even coffee works to help keep you hydrated, lol.
yeah i don't drink straight water, i hate it unless it's burn your mouth ice cold lol. But i usually drink 2 cans of sparkling water a day, and i never feel dehydrated
Same! Husband uses master bath and I use hall because of the big shower. I can drink alllll the coffee but 2 bottles of water is outrageous. Any pretty notebook makes me happy, and I hate carrying my purse. 😂
I have a bottle with times on the side that's double that size. It's 2 liters. I used to have one like yours, but I never filled it up the second time. I need to see how much I still have to drink to finish it up.
You are so sweet! Drinking more water might be the first thing I would try for dry skin but I also use a moisturizer on my face once a day. I couldn't believe the difference it made. I even had my husband feel my face after about 2 weeks of daily use! I know I laughed at myself too, but it really worked and I am 59 yo this May.
I peel like that when dry...well, I used to. I put the money out for Dr. Lancer's face polish...I can't begin to describe how good it is. I can't do his moisturizer because I can't handle the smell of it, but the Caviar Lime Acid Peel on occasion and the Polish every other day is AMAZING.
Alexandria, you do the best unboxings and you are adorable. I've been watching your videos with some wedding pictures in them and you were a beautiful bride. I loved, loved your dress. Thanks for sharing!. I'm like you and am not a fan of summer or hot weather in the spring or fall. Give me cold - it's easier to get warm than cool off. FFF does make summer better and all the seasons. So happy you are a FFF partner! I just customized my box earlier and already forgot what I chose. I did get the Laniege moisturizer. I love all their products. Great video as always! Hope Wren and Tater are better. Your husband is so handsome and you make a cute couple! Love ya! Bye! 💕💕
For drinking more water - I am the same way. The best way I've found to get myself to drink more is the liquid flavoring things. Not the powder stuff - Crystal Light is fine but I just don't reach for it. But the Kool Aid Liquid? I'm all over that. Or the Mio flavors, particularly the lemonade one.
I have VERY FINE HAIR, and the first thing that worked for my hair not being so crispy at the ends is that I stopped using a hair dryer on my hair. I found that it caused WAY too much damage because my hair is so fine. Like I'm not kidding when I say I can use the tiny hair clips that are meant for babies and they hold all of my hair. But since I stopped using a hair dryer its getting the tiniest bit better and fuller.
I always knew we was kindred spirits lol 😂 I too open my garage and chunk boxes into my hoard pile lol and I use my hall bath while my husband uses the master lol 😆
I've been using the OUAI hair mask for a few years now and I love it! I use it once a week. Doesn't weigh my hair down (I have oily roots) but gets it nice and soft
@@boogiebear3095 Yeah, just make sure to get the one for fine hair and don't put it too close to your roots! There's another one for thicker hair that I think might be heavier. Not sure if FFF is going to have both options available or not.
I knew you weren't a summer fan, but to hear you say it breaks my heart. Great video, as always. Loved the box this time, it's not normally one of my favorites.
Ou! Can't wait to see what the other choices are too! I do like summer, but not the whole time lol I honestly love spring so much! You should try using aqua on the dry spots on your face. I got bad eczema all over my face once as a side effect from a medication. I was overseas, I tried so many different moisturizers and then I remembered I had aquaphor in me! Really saved me and healed me in 2 days!
For the peeliness exfoliate with a washcloth when your skin is still damp after showering/washing your face! I use tretinoin so I get peely sometimes but can't handle an actual exfoliator, the washcloth solved all my problems! And for extra hydration the glow recipe berry hydrating mask is nice too
I love watching your videos, Alexandria! ❤️ You received some very nice items in your FabFitFun box!! Thanks for sharing! Praying that you & your family are all doing well!!
I would love to get a FabFitFun! Sadly they don't ship to Sweden. Having a waterbottle close at hand is the best way to remind yourself to drink water (if you have, for example, an app to remind you you can get notification fatigue and just start ignoring it). You could make an ice tea or put some infusions to give the water a light taste if you prefer to not just drink straight up water!
I highly recommend trying Hint Water to help with water intake. I don’t really like drinking plain water or carbonated water. The fruit infused water has made it so that I’m down to a single bottle of Dr Pepper a day, not counting eating out.
omg, I was just thinking about fabfitfun! mostly because I was scrolling through the app trying to see when summer box would come out and accidently purchased a single nail file. 1 single nail file in one gigantic box. the disappointment I felt from my surprise package fierce. :(
I get the worst dry skin in the winter, I use the ordinary mandelic acid 10% with ha, it has totally smoothed out my skin and the moisturisers I use are much more affective.
I struggle a bunch to drink enough water through the day, and I found it a lot easier to do when I started using liquid IV. Plain water is just not appealing, and the flavor helps make me want it
I have the exact same dry patchy pealing skin around my mouth and nose (I also get it on my ears and eyelids) and it’s related to psoriasis. I find mine gets worse in the fall and spring when the weather starts to change! I use the water bank in combo with a ASA and it helps reduce how noticeable it is! But my saving grace was seeing a dermatologist and getting a medicated cream.
I always love watching your unboxings. You're so funny and you make me laugh and smile every time. And yes I was just as excited about that notebook as you were.
My water hack: Mix 24-32oz of water with: - 1 “TRUE Lemon lemonade” powdered drink mix packet - 1 Starburst Blue Raspberry powdered drink mix packet - Add ice - Drink out of a straw I drink about a gallon of water every day because I actually want to. I had a couple friends try it last week and they were wild about it. Even my therapist knows about it because I couldn’t find the Starburst packets and had to drink something else for a couple weeks 😅
I bet drinking more water would help hydrate your skin. Have you seen the Circle water bottles? They have flavor filters that help you drink more water.
I live in WA state and we get about 2-3 weeks of summer here and that’s about all I can handle. Lol. I have extremely dry skin too and I get a facial at least every other month and it has helped my dry flakey skin.
when school supplies are "out of season" or like when the notebooks are .25 or .10 cents each I buy about 20 at a time. They are stashed around my house randomly. I use them for my books I like to write them out first. I try and keep my sons imagination going by giving him some.. needless to say I LOVE NOTEBOOKS! Also I was thinking about getting FFF this year. A few years ago it was Boxycharm (a BIG nope) and Shudder (NOPE!) and last year was Ipsy (NOPE again) to much skin care stuff
