The only problem is your insurance company won't care how long you extend the roof's life. Most of them are dinging folks hard at year 10 and many are dropping folks if their roof is older than 15-yrs.
@@hahahahhahahhaha786 the increase in major storms directly contradicts your statement. Just because the roof is out of sight does not mean it doesn't need to be replaced. Rejuvenation wont repair wind damaged shingles, or seal the holes left be hail and debris. I have been following these products since roofmax first came on the scene years ago, I am very interested in the tech and think this type of product has its place in the roofing industry for sure, but it needs to be used at the proper time on the proper roof.

I think everyone would appreciate to know three things: 1.) whether any manufacturer has stated explicitly that applying this treatment WILL NOT void their standard or extended warranty? 2.) what GoNano warranty is with respect to preserving, but more importantly NOT ruining an asphalt shingle? To clarify #2, what is the warranty on your product AND if your product is found to have an adverse affect on a shingle in 5 years, what is GoNano's warranty response to that claim? 3.) Do you have any US insurance companies that have provided documented support of your product, if so, who? We were very interested in your product however the rep of yours we dealt with was a bit condescending and laissez faire with the specifics we were asking about. Do you get an "EXTRA" 10-15 years, OR is it for the NEXT 10-15 years? Starting the day it was installed? How does this product react with other materials on and around the home? @JonathanDuquette I think you are on to something that will have a dramatic impact in our industry. But I think we all have these questions and would appreciate a detailed video addressing them. 1. What is Gonano warranty cover? 2. Does this product have any impact on the shingle manufacture warranty and if so what is that? 3. You mentioned the insurance loves the product, but what effect does it have on coverage? For example if the homeowner is dropped by the insurance is the homeowner able to reinstate their insurance on the roof? Or if they have an RCV policy dropped down to ACV due to age will your product extend the coverage if treatment has been performed every 5yrs from the date of installing a new roof? 4. At what point is a roof to old and is no longer a candidate for Gonano aside form the obvious hail or wind damage? 5. Where can we review written documents supporting the data and testing?
The start with a 15% add on then every 5 years 15%. What are the documented years of extension in the roof per treatment? The average home mortgage is 8-9 years, paying for a benefit you wont recieve is an issue. Most homeowners dont pay for a roof out of pocket until theyre in there 50s. Below that its a seller paying for a new roof for a buyer. Insurance is an interesting in but what do they discount rates? The insurance industry dictating or requiring would be an issue with most people.
I’m gonna give it a shot. Guy came by today to look at my flat roof. It’s surprisingly inexpensive. Less than 10 percent of what it cost to replace my roof about 7 years ago .
My daughter is creating a device to test the impact of hail on roofing materials for her science fair. Class 4 UL testing drops a 2", 3lb. ball on a piece of roofing material. We are dropping a 3", 4lb steel ball. I want to test some of this stuff on a shingle!

At what percentage rate do the nano particles wash into our water supply system? Is there a shelf life with the particles? Is there a health risk with ingestion?
We strongly suggest not drinking any chemical product in general. So, no, the product is not made to be ingested. The shelf life is over a year, as said in the podcast. After that, I'm not sure I understand your question about the water supply system. I would never recommend getting water from a shingle roof since asphalt is a chemical product. Our product creates a permanent modification.
@JonathanDuquette hmm. There might be a language barrier here. I never suggested drinking the product directly. Let's think about this logically. Rain/snow/ice builds on the roof. The weather "washes" the product off the roof (through de-granulation) or otherwise. The nano-particles end up in the storm system. That system makes its way to our lakes and rivers. That water works its way to the city for filtration, cleaning etc. Then redistribution of the water back to our taps. ... Now, what is the nano particle retention rate after the city has cleared the water of other particulates and organics?

The guy provided zero science. He said essentially nothing about what it is and how it works. It was just a bunch of hook wards. It really seems like he's spraying floor wax on new shingles and claiming that the preexisting life of a shingle is because of his product. It might seal the asphalt, glue the granules better, and make the shingle hydrophobic...that's it...and it's temporary...and it's probably going to turn yellow There is no structure in a spray that can stop the force of hail and wind. I don't think Matt was impressed Their marketing doesn't show any actual results

@ryanjackson8485 my dude I've been researching it to see if our company should offer it as a service. Show me the MSDS. It's required by law. Nobody can tell me what it is and why it works. The "testing" proves nothing. There arent any "holes". "Penetrates" how?...why does that matter?...why is that good?...how is that not just chemically melting the asphalt? How are you arresting that chemical breakdown?

I was ready to pull the trigger last month and they won't supply me with the basic due diligence. Still hoping they are just overwhelmed which is possible after these videos.
Just keep your roof clean (moss is terrible).. sealant can actually cause problems because it doesn’t get underneath the shingles.. water drips down all sides of the shingle.. if you have buildup (aka sealant) one 3/4ths of a shingle water can’t move as it should. It will become stuck and rot the wood underneath.
I really didn’t get a real answer here.. of course a company employee is going to say “you need our product”. In my experience roof sealants don’t work and in fact cause problems.

I am not an anti-corporation. It's just the truth. Dig a little bit, and you'll see for yourself. Your point is invalid since most people are looking for resilient solutions, but they miss the education, and unfortunately, most roofers will spread the idea that a roof will be good for 50 years to get the sell. The problem is ethics also.
