I heard about these when they first came out in 2020, and, being a fan of the original hatchimals, to say I was disappointed was an understatement. For context, before Hatchimals Chrystal flyers, there were these toys in the 2010s, also from Spin Master called Flutterby Fairies. These chrystal flyers are more related to them than Hatchimals. So basicly, they made a glorified flutterby, slapped the hatchimals brandname on it, and stripped it of everything, featurewise, that made a hatchimal a hatchimal. The only way it resembles one is that its display case is shaped like an egg. big deal. *raspberry sound*

Imagine how cool, and terrifying it'd be if it hatched and flew itself out of it's shell like an OG hatchimal🤣

The wings and her head is the one that makes it stop because it causes the wings to collide and the toy stops

My sister and I had skydancers as a kids so this toy intrigued me. My daughter just got one of these for her birthday. It was fun for a little while then it flew up, up, up and into practically into space and my daughter was very distressed... First i worried when it went above our house and it looked like it might have been about to land on the roof (annoying but not a disaster) but it just bounced and shot up even higher. It just kept going up at least 100 metres in the air and becane a black dot up in the clouds. I worried it would never come back down. It went up so high before I saw it start to drop and landed (more like crashed) a street away from us but we managed to find it and she was unhurt. We started running after it as soon as it looked like it was blowing away.

Great channel. So good to find an impartial review of this toy - the only one I could find on the whole of the inter web. Impartial reviews of toys are so difficult to find, so I hope your channel grows! Nearly all other consumables have unbiased reviews available but not toys! Interesting that you found an infra-red sensor in there. That might explain the advertising claim that you can put your hand a few inches under it when it's flying and it will hover above your hand. It seems to do this up to a point but also manages to find a wall to fly into. I wonder has anyone become skilful at controlling its flight and managed to avoid it crashing? I was hoping to find youtube tips on how to control its flight but not so far! Incidentally, a tip for other parents: the instructions tell you to switch it on while it is standing on its base, i.e. not holding it in your hand. That way it gradually speeds up until it has enough lift to take off after a few seconds.

Wow! Thanks for sharing :) After filming this, we realised that it isn't actually a button that makes her fly down, but the weight of the head/body creating a downward force on the wings, it actually stayed up on the ceiling for a about 5 minutes until it finally hit a wall! The no-head no-wings combination was flapping around on the floor for about 10 minutes before we cornered it! (The bottom wings are attached directly to the motor, so without them it doesn't know to cut power on impact. That was both hilarious and terrifying!
