Patch 6 has made two things in this video impossible 1) Kar'niss agros if you take his Moon Lantern 2) Interacting with the brain stem breaks Invisibility Below are tutorials for the new methods to do them. Yeah, so I just found out myself. Sat here for 10mins and its like, “They have moved the goal posts in the last patch.” Couldn’t jump past anyone without triggering dialogue I have heard a thousand times. “IN VIZI BAL!” still works though.
Delph I appreciate the time you've taken to path this and the strategies used. I'll definitely be referencing your route diary for some of my own runs. Thanks so much and lovely video 😊
As of Patch 6 that came out today, the brain stem climb conversation takes your party out of invisibility. Last night I beat the Honour Mode save following the video, this morning I reloaded at the brain stem to try and get the Ceremorphosis trophy (I took over the brain to end it last night so I missed the trophy), and they just now made that change. I’ve tried a couple times now.
I love you videos, don't know whats crazier all the stuff Larian put in the game or people like you who find all these crazy glitches / interactions. I'm probably gonna watch the vod to get a better understanding of what exactly went down. Anyway looking forward for more
This is an amazing guide and its awesome, that you explain all the needed steps so thoroughly! Definetly gotta try this with your written guide on a seperate monitor. Much love! ❤
Great video and I'm definitely gonna try this route, but couldn't you skip the Netherbrain fight altogether by bringing Gale and asking him to blow himself up?
i’m having issues with the myrkul fight. i’m playing on beta patch 6, as patch 7 just came out and idk what they all patched. but i always get him on fire, and then dame aylin uses holy fire on him making it so he loses the burning condition. is there any way to prevent or lessen the chances of this occurring? it’s so annoying
the fact that you can open the gauntlet of shar door with knock actually saved my ass when for some reason the game bugged out when i inserted the umbral gems into the altar and they just disappeared, not opening the door at all ksdfghsjdfgh
Very confused as to what’s going on with the Myrkul fight. Seems like he is immune to Gale’s necrotic aura which is 1d4. Reduced by half from resistance, and reduced from 2 down to 0 by Magical Plate passive.
The Gale cheese still works, kinda. The necrotic damage does nothing due to some passive Myrkul has. The Fire damage still works however. On My first attempt, Myrkul didn't even burn so I think the placement of the firewire barrel has something to do with it, but I don't know enough about the physics of the game to tell you how, I just put the thing as close as I could to where Myrkul spawned. It took about an hour and a half to kill it with just fire damage, it heals halfway through too, but only once. The point is, it still works, just takes longer. The Minthara srat in the vid could speed things up but it will still take a while.
I’ve been stuck at the Myrkul fight for a while. The fire keeps turning to ash, Aylin stops resurrecting, and even with the fire and necrosis damage, Mrykul just keeps healing to full from the necromites.
Update: Aylin is still dead, the fire has been gone all fight, but Mrykul has kind of bugged out and has only done the pull move every turn for about 320 turns now. So even though it’s very scuffed, it looks like I may beat the fight anyways lol. Thanks for the help!
I just tried this and when i forced Spider Boy to drop his moon lantern everyone immediately became hostile. Any ideas on why that could have been? I wasn't able to do anything with the pixie it was just instant combat and the end of the run because I got 1 shot
"Why is this in the game?" Because, like every DM ever, Larian has greatly underestimated the powers of player self-determination, and the power of a single utility spell
Man, thanks for the ride, it was memorable. I finished in 13 hours with multiple save scumming (yeah tactician). Problems were: can't yeet the Gith at the astral plan, had to resort to Shockwave. Maybe not the right respec from me? Getting the cut scene with Orin until figuring extreme invisibility was the key. Going thru the red dragon and goons at the top of the brain, holding that portal open for one turn was like playing chess. Oh and not realizing the last moment i had access to the campfire chest. It's ok i found some good explosives on the way. It was very good pulling through all of that. Keep up the good work!
Amazing run and great comment, I'm looking forward to check the 48 mins one after :) Thank you so much for the Shar gauntlet skip, I love the game but after 20+ playthroughs I'm so done with it ^^
we make exceptions for things that decrease rng but dont decrease time, in the case of triple dash it removes needing to 1) tank a hit from boar in nautiloid 2) have a githyanki fail a void bulb saving throw in astral plane after the main rng is done and 3) makes haste potion not mandatory to roll this category already takes several hours to get a single run with good enough rng so 🤷♀️
Sadly patch 6 has made this impossible. Specifically at the very end of the game, when you climb the brain stem, it breaks concentration on invisibility.
just tested this and it seems to still work; just have to make sure you have enough invisibility by the time you go in and re-enter turn based mode as soon as the black screen starts
@@delpharaare you completely sure you are in patch 6? I have attempted many different ways of bringing the invisibility on top of the brain but nothing has worked. The concentration on invisibility is broken as soon as I touch the stem. It gets rid of the it the same way as when you talk to a merchant. Also, I am on console so that may be making a difference.
@@delpharaSomething very strange happened. I threw the potion at myself, climbed the stem while invisible, and still even while invisible I was put into combat. It was only me and the mage hand alive when I climbed the stem. I managed to find a position in which none of the enemies found me but of course in honor mode the nether brain hits you on their turn guaranteed and knocks you out of invisibility. Got any ideas?
@delphara oh crap, I might have done that, I would delete my only save and create a new save to replace it, and whenever something didn't go to plan, like gale explosion, I would close the game and try again.
someone in my discord was able to get it; heres their message “basically i stood in the same place you did in the vid, but I had to pan the camera around to the right so that I could see the platform where the door is and just had to mess with it till it let me fly down” you can find them in my discord as well if you still cant figure it out !! alternatively using misty step to get the orb by yurgir is super easy as seen in my other glitchless video
@@delphara I'm surprised someone managed to find the right spot on the controller! I basically just gave up and used misty step to get an orb right before seeing this message. 😆 idk why it took me so long to realize i should just grab an orb. haha anyway, Thanks for the quick reply! great video btw!👍
Thank you for this video! 😊 It definitely lifted up my mood after finding out upon waking up that my BG3 app got uninstalled for some ungodly reason, just when I started my second playthrough... Saves should be fine, at least I hope so. Pretty good run indeed! 👍🏻 I have seen some original and ingenious strats here, really love to see it
I did the whole run, but the HM trophy didn’t pop. I believe it was because I save scummed when my team wiped at the Gith monk encounter. At that point, I noticed Jaheira didn’t have as much movement to get to the first monk without a bonus action. Was there an item I missed? I know I was wearing everything I needed.
The longer route of clearing everything getting all the xp possible and killing everything w a full crazy dps focused party took me 46ish hours to do it. I have less than 250 total hours in the game and the golden dice. I never used barrelmancy, didn’t abuse stealth mechanics, and didn’t do any alchemy at all. The games not too difficult, if you can defeat myrkul at the end of act 2 then just get to max level in act 3 it’s gg. I feel like most ppl could get th golden dice the long way, or even this short cheesy way without much sweat.
Yo it doesn't work! When you say respec Gail exactly like Tav to escape Balthazar's pods, how do you duplicate the ring and necklace that give us invisibility and teleportation??? There is no escaping both pods and no recasting invisibility which requires a long rest!
im at about 100 hours on my first play. Only gotta off the shapeshifter and then kick the last boss in the nuts. Thats after skipping like +50% of content on act 3, just can't be assed with all the side quests anymore.
~200 hours first playthrough, if you take away an unknown amount of hours AFK. And I still missed quite a lot. Truth be told, my first CRPG, so you can see it as the reason why 200 hours.
@@ВладиславБулаев-л3э Sure afking is maybe 1-3 hours out of all that. Act 1 and 2 were pretty nice. But 3 feels like a labyrinth. Far less direction there. Youre supposed to just go into random homes or down some hatches and explore. Killed most of the main baddies already and dont think my gear can get any better so im just gonna go straight to the end.
welp, glad the golden dice no longer mean you are a good player... it's cool the game can be beaten like this, but it also belittles the efforts of everyone who actually did it.
At the end of the day, I’d say it’s more about the experience than it is about getting the golden dice. If you put in the hours and effort to get it traditionally, good for you. Other people having it won’t change how that accomplishment felt for you, and others doing easier methods to get it will by no means discredit those that did it the “correct” way. Besides, it’s not a competition. at the end of the day the only person who will actively see the dice is the player, so it’s value breaks down to how the players themselves feels about having gotten it (by whatever means in which they did)
Once you get to level 5/6 you've basically got a free pass to golden dice anyhow. Unless you're being actively obtuse about ignoring the game's mechanics, the sheer amount of power you have over enemies through classes, multiclassing, and item synergy means you can't really be stopped. At that point it's just a several-hour formality and hoping you don't get a gamebreaking glitch that ends your honour mode run.
Trying to get this run down to get into speedrunning The damn boat they always spot me and then it's impossible to steal. So far that's been the biggest run killer for me
