It's only when you play the game like this you REALLY learn to appriciate the "other" uniques and I love it, it's how it worked back in the day before runewords and soloing everything
Is druid the best character? Yes. Yes it is. Its not about hitting your tornadoes, its about casting enough tornadoes that you end up not caring that 95% of them miss.
Hawkmail gives you 10%FRW, but in fact it doesn't. it's a heavy armor type (scale mail, plate mail, full plate mail), wearing it gives you -10%FRW by default, so 10%FRW on it just offsets the penalty. (great video and great loot btw! kelpie snare is a beast!)
I've done this run before, so fun! I love how you wind up using items you wouldn't normally look at. Explosive arrows on a holy fire pally goes hard haha
Great video! Challenges like this are so good for highlighting otherwise "useless" uniques like that Kelpie Snare. Super cool item that I've never used but might in future!

@@JoelChenFa That is pretty stupid to say. I have thousands hours sinked into Diablo 2.. And yes it can be done with just uniques. Hell people killed Baal in Hell and Uber Trist in a team of 5 players without even having gear. This run is called Iron Man run.
@@JoelChenFa This game has been around for 25 years. Every "challenge" run you can possibly think of has already been done. No shade at the channel. It's always fun to see things like this. But it's by no means unique (no pun intended) and there are countless videos of the same thing that already exist on YT. So the video poses the question and I answered a simple answer. Sorry it hurt your feelings.
@@JoelChenFa If you’re even slightly experienced in Diablo 2, it’s not difficult to believe. I don’t even understand the point of this video. A completely naked character can cruise through all of normal and half of nightmare (all of nightmare for some classes) quite easily.
My favorite set is the disciple. Then mix it up with whatever weapon, shield, or helmet you have and just run with it! The only bad thing about it is finding a dark adherent with a high enough defense percentage because I believe that the highest it goes is 860 defense. With the laying of hands you can almost glide through demons on normal and nightmare.

Tremendous content! Super exciting stuff!! Fun Fact'ish: Gull Dagger has highest drop rate from Normal Coldcrow. She's the Super Unique enemy in The Hole(?) Or whatever the cave dungeon in the Cold Plains is called. She's a tough, early farming spot, but it's my favorite target-farm in the Game 😂 Her lore also talks about how she stole a special dagger that could always reveal people's most treasured items, no matter how hidden. Which is kinda exactly what the Gull Dagger is, pretty neat!!

i was hoping to see more relevant use of the cube to upgrade item tiers. like taking the dark clan crusher cudgel and upgrading it from cudgel to truncheon for example.
Who would've thought that the Ward shield acting like a dollar store Paladin resist shield that never left your side would carry you through the entire game, gg Shout out to Kelpie Snare as well, one of those less talked about uniques that I use myself a lot because it's actually that good and has no unobtanium tier drops.
Just watched the title and wondered.. why not? Long after 1.10 I almost exclusively built my characters with only rares/crafted, set and unique items. I think the reason was mostly the very low drop rate of high runes and when playing solo self found mostly. I also did not like all the too OP runewords like spirit and insight on merc so I skipped those. I guess I also liked the way itemization was in 1.09 so I liked to try and recreate those characters I played back then :)
After doing a lot of play throughs recently I also think the game is more fun if you skip the super efficient RWs like spirit, lore, ancients pledge, stealth… but I also find it very hard to pass on the “cheap” power 😁
Yeah .. for me it's often so that I just solo play through the game in medium pace and I don't often stop to farm specific runes or bases. Thats why I often don't have those until end of Nightmare or start of hell when I might farm something to stay alive in Hell :)
I am right now trying this exact same challange, ispired by you, but without the magic find starting gear, and on my 2.nd andi run, the room before her throneroom, the elite just dropped a Gull!!! (100% magic find dagger) what is this insane luck...
Also i got literally the best mapping of catacombes lvl 2 and 3, teleport right next to entrence to lvl 3, and lvl 3-4 is just a straight walk of 3 rooms
Update: i have found 14 uniqes over time. AND 9 OF THEM ARE MACES GOD DAMNIT. the other 5 are junk too, only got 1 uniqe that isn't a weapon, and it's a low-roll duskdeep with too high strength requirement....
I was considering trying that when it dropped because I’ve read about it several times online but never tried it myself, but when it dropped I was already kind of done with the werewolf spec.
This is a stupid challenge because you can beat Diablo 2 relatively easily even with no equipment. So of course unique equipment will make the thing even easier.
I still havent found my first shako on my HC single player journey after a year of grinding but did find Sur, Ohm, Vex and some random goodies. Nothing super gg though
If you're inclined to do this challenge again, maybe a class that doesn't have great spell casting. Also, I think it would be a good idea to add in some of your chat on the side of the video, especially with drops.
As a HC only player, i can only approve of kelpie's snare, there is no other item that can provide such a slowing effect, the only alternative would be reaper's toll but finding one for such a challenge is so unlikely and would be useable too late anyway.
