So link actually does have quite the personality lol

But also here's this tween prodigy to help you destroy ancient evils. He is confident about his abilities too but consistently proves that he's as good as he says. Like Rt says, Good man, Tulin. Plus, I like to think about how angry Revali would be that he's been severely upstaged by a kid.

I love when games play on mechanics and expectations like that. It instills a sense of dread even if you know it's not really that much more health. Same with Ganondorf being able to dodge your attacks... he doesn't attack you back when he does but the sudden rush of fear like 'Oh shit that's my trick'. Masterclass in game design.

Even funnier is that it looks like a solid speedrun strat.

Honestly, that's kinda my least favorite thing about the game. Don't get me wrong. The game is great, but watching cutscene after cutscene of people reacting shocked to things Link already knows and dealing with huge problems that would be easily solved if he just said 3 words was kinda grating.

colgeras are so easy when you just go under them, use 6 winged arrows. fight is over in minutes

It's a real simple but effective trick, and we know it a trick, because when other enemies have more health the bar just drains slower. Nintendo knows how to fuck with your emotions.

First time I saw it in my playthrough I genuinely said “why the fuck is his health bar still growing” they wanted to make ganon menacing and NOTHING is more menacing than an ever growing health bar

@@Dragonhatchie incorrect, the only ones that give set bonus with no upgrades are sets that cannot be upgraded in the first place (Ganon set, royal guard set, etc) thing like the miner set and the glide set only give special effects when worn if they are not upgraded twice, would you call having the full miner set and having a slighter bigger glow effect than only having two pieces a set bonus?

There is, interestingly enough, a good reason for Link to not tell anyone. All the Sages are very heroic, and if they knew eating their stones would make them strong enough to beat Ganon, they all would without a second thought. Link just doesn't want to lose more people.

Man there would have been hell to pay if this came out the same year as Elden Ring. These two games truly stand out from the rest as actually being finished, living up to the hype, masterpieces. Don't think I'll ever play this one, but I can't lie watching this ending made me shed a tear. Definitely deserves game of the year.

Yeah overconfident ganon works best when it’s satisfying to kick his ass but here he just keeps powering up to the point it makes his death kinda underwhelming because he’s basically mindless at that point. Would’ve been a more compelling villain if he could admit Link was stronger than he expected (sure there’s the more than Taurus power comment but that still feels like a cop out when he immediately goes back to claiming he’s the best and making excuses for why Link can kick his shit in)

If you have the sages the bosses all show up at the same time, could you imagine if they did that in the boss rush, funnily enough I think it would be possible. Colgera's constant up draft would probably be helpful more than anything, especially since I don't think Colgera can attack you if you're bellow him in phase one. Mucktoroc couldn't do shit if you were constantly in the air. Most of Gohma's attacks are bombs that sit on the floor. The robots cannons and queen Gibdo would be the only ones who could really hit you. Although let's be real, speed runners would just spam the savage lynel bow with duplicated ruby arrows. To nuke them all.

@@vivil2533 Nah they would just clip into the wall and skip the boss fights entirely and just go face Ganondorf (this is actually the literally speedrunning strat for that section, you overload the game's memory with glitched weapons and clip into the door, which hilariously leads to having Colgera's theme playing when you're fighting Ganondorf's first phase)

speedrunning link is once again my favorite canon for how stupid and anticlimactic it is. no destined standoff to bookend the past, link just runs in screaming with a fresh colgate jaw on a stick to jam into ganondorf's eye.

Well, the alternatives to leaving some of his troops to guard the secret stones are: 1. Leave them completely unprotected where he found them (obviously a bad idea, though he could bank on Link never finding them if he's lucky, I guess??) 2. Taking the stones to use himself, destroy, or even hide somewhere else (a much better idea, assuming he is able to interact with these stones at all - and considering he literally stole Sonia's he really should be able to). Probably while setting up decoy bosses just to mess with Link. Option one was never gonna happen. And option two would've been smarter, but it also would've meant no reward for fighting the bosses and that doesn't work very well for a video game reward system. Most video game villains can't be too smart or the player will end up feeling cheated when their accomplishments ultimately mean nothing. ...I'm still not sure why he bothered Zelda's horse, though.

I don't know if they're counted towards 100%, but if they are, he didn't even get half the available batteries, so a few more things he missed

Maybe I'm misremembering but I remember him saying he had 100 hours in episode 6/7. I doubt it could be 80 hours since he was sidetracked a lot and got all the shrines, on his first playthrough

Yeah RT knows it (chat sorta gave it away), it just wasn't included in the video.

I woulda given it to Purah tbh. I know she's no fighter, but she has the intelligence and researcher's spirit that Mineru does. Given that Mineru took an interest in Purah's creation and studied it for Zelda's sake, it could have made for a nice story through line (especially since we meet Mineru so late in the story so we don't get to bond with her so much, but Purah's a returning character and a fan favorite). Or maybe I'm just sad Purah didn't get to do much in TOTK even though she got this sick new design.

They'll probably leave that part out. Also it took place pretty high in the sky so the only witnesses were probably Link, Zelda (who probably doesn't remember it) and Ganondorf (dead). Maybe Purah if she watched through the telescope? And possibly a Rito if any were nearby (probably not - I'd fly away). They'll just say "it was a fierce battle but Link prevailed" and leave it at that.

He could have easily restarted the game after the "toe incident" He only kept it for the joke, so calling deathless is fair enough.

It reminds me of Sonic 06 when at the end of the game Sonic and Elise travel back in time and put out Solaris's flame so none of the events of the game even happen, I kid you not that's how the game ends. I DETEST when stories end like that, it completely removes all the drama and the entire point of going through what you did.
