Here’s an idea for an challenge: full team of hm slaves using only hm moves, the game is your choice since some hms change between games Edit: so I’ve heard some of you say that this might be too easy so how about for a little extra challenge, all the hm slaves have to be first stage Pokemon and they all have to be able to learn at least 4 hms so all their moves slots will be filled?

Coming back to this. I can honestly say this is my favorite MDB challenge. What I like most about it is Doug & Danny’s relationship. Danny has more power & is more suited for battle, but Doug can handle ground types better & his states are technically better geared for combat. Perfect length, & really compelling from a tag team standpoint

Plusle and Minun may be kinda weak compared to other Pokémon, but at least they are not the weakest. But having only one you have to level up without catching other Pokémon is truly a brutal experience, especially without attacking moves and only Struggle to help you.

So, I have been off the channel for a while, mostly due to not having projects I cared for. When I saw you made your first challenge, I jumped over it, having seen a few already. then you kept making these. Then, You started stadium, I decided to watch it when I finally figured you were doing a real let's play of it. Short of it, in the past week, I watched over 50 episodes of pokemon stadium and up t here of the challenge video, I had no clue what I was missing. Keep being You MDB

I really like these tag team challenges. They're still bad pokemon but having the two has the potential for fun strategies.

The camerupt would've been quite a bit easier to defeat if you had used encore on focus energy, or even on tackle.

Since the later Pokemon games become incredibly generous, how about: "Can you beat Pokemon with only gifted Pokemon?" Any version. This basically means any Pokemon you don't have to catch. Includes things like fossil, starter, Pokemon you find in a ball on top of the Celedon mall (gen 1), Pokemon hatched from an egg that some random old lady just gives you for no reason, Pokemon that trainers just go, "Oh, this Lucario really likes you, here take him with you!" etc.

This brings back memories. I watched this thing premier. I use videos like these to keep track of how much I've aged since my last good memory. This isn't my most recent good memory, it's just a really good one.

I’m addicted to these videos man. I started watching smallant’s challenges and got into these challenge run type videos and discovered this channel just from searching “Pokémon challenge”. I’m thinking of doing a challenge run of sword because I love gen 8 but it’s too easy, if anyone has any ideas for a challenge that would be difficult but not crazy time consuming send em my way!

pokemon challenge youtubers are great for introducing and allowing you to fine tune challenge ideas to actually be enjoyable. By this point we know that you can probably beat any game with any single pokemon. there's been videos with magikarp, sunkern, dunsparce, qwilfish and stantler, etc, gastly, sandshrew, chansey, the list goes on. They're just full of absurd amounts of grinding and resetting and luck. So for the rest of us, don't do a solo run with a pathetic unevolved critter. But hey, what about a solo run with a pokemon that's allowed to evolve to its highest form? I saw a message board post about doing a solo hoenn run with ludicolo. Maybe if you started with lotad and let it evolve to ludicolo. It might not be the hardest, but it could provide some challenge Deino and larvesta are pokemon that come so late in the game and take so long to evolve that you can't reallhy use them in a team. What about a team that starts the game with one or both of them, you could trade them in or use the randomizer, and in a normal 6 member team, see how long it would take to get hydreigon/volcarona. Or you could do a solo run with either. Plenty of other pokemon you can don this with, like dragonite, ttar, metagross, salamence, etc. Scott's thoughts has a video with solo ariados. So we know it's possible. What about just having ariados on a normal team, you could still get through the game easily but have that 1 pokemon. Make a whole team with weaker pokemon, johto has plenty. Since I've never really done a nuzlocke, my favorite type of challenge run has been a mono type team. say, all bug types in hoenn (it was omegaruby, much easier than a gen 3 game, since there's more moves and infinite use tms) but in many games this could be pretty tricky, balancing the team having the same weaknesses, potentially having to pick which member gets a really good STAB tm. Other ideas I've toyed with are flying in johto, so many different dual flying types that are really weak, mono poison in kanto (frlg or lgpe) mono fighting in sinnoh, ideally with platinum cause there's just barely 6 different fighting lines in sinnoh, (infernape, toxicroak, medicham, machamp, lucario, in platinum you can use galllade but in d/p you;d have to hunt honey trees for heracross). Here's an idea I've been toying with: a team of 6 of the exact same species. Since we sort of know most unevolved pokemon can clear a game by themselves, I don't see the point in using 6 unevolved critters. Do this run with 6 of the same fully evolved species, just for the lols of having 6 of the exact same pokemon. Better yet if you can come up with different move sets for each. I've been looking at gengar as a decent option, but I kind of like the idea of 6 ludicolo, or even funnier, 6 wailord.

this vid is old, so i have no clue if you'll see this, but during the wallace fight, wouldn't switching out turn the poison into normal poison instead of badly poisoned? would've made doug last a lot longer. obviously you didn't end up needing that survivability anyway, just a thought. i might be misremembering gens as well, not sure if the mechanic works like that in emerald

I know this video is old, so you might not check the comments, but any chance you could try to beat Pokemon Double Emerald using Plusle and Minun? Double Emerald is a romhack that makes most battles be double battles (wild battles have a chance of being single). You would probably need a special rom editor to get Plusle and Minun to replace the starter and Eevee, though. (In Double Emerald, you get your picked starter as well as an Eevee.)
