Can you beat a pokemon game using only “fixed damage” moves? I’m using a loose definition of “fixed damage” to include moves that deal a predictable amount of damage even if that value changes. The moves allowed would include:- *Sonic Boom* - Deals 20HP damage. *Dragon Rage* - Deals 40HP damage. *Night Shade* - Deals damage equal to user’s level. *Seismic Toss* - Deals damage equal to user’s level. *Super Fang* - Deals damage equal to half the target’s current HP. *Endeavor* - Lowers the target’s HP to equal the user’s current HP. *Final Gambit* - Causes the user to faint and deals damage to the target equal to amount of HP the user lost. *Nature’s Madness* - Deals damage equal to half the target’s current HP. *Fissure* - Causes target to faint. *Guillotine* - Causes target to faint. *Horn Drill* - Causes target to faint. *Sheer Cold* - Causes target to faint.
@@mythicalexplorer7846 As mentioned in the Shyguymask video, Chikorita learns Poisonpowder at level 9, and you can grind it up to that level by PP stalling metapods until they knock themselves out with Struggle.
The answer is that on the way, he took the Helix fossil. He knew that if he didn’t say what he took, we’d all ask. Now that he thinks about, everyone should ask anyway. Comments are good for the RU-vid algorithm
I can assure u that less than 3% of people who have seen those adds actually vape, and even if people who vape sees them, they're basically just like "hey ur addiction that we don't even know if u have or not is terrible and if u have it than ur probably terrible" and is really really dumb
Ya ever think about how Silver is just a random kid you run into? Like most of your rivals are your friends or your neighbors, but with Silver you just....happen to get a pokemon same day that he robs the professor, so now he's your rival.
“It’s in the book” absolutely brilliant bud :P algorithm algorithm algorithm algorithm, stuff stuff stuffs, algorithm, RU-vid put this video in everyone’s recommended, algorithm algorithm, stuff and things. MDB keep doing what ya doing buddy, absolutely fantastic content regardless of what it is you make, always fantastic. Thankyou for becoming a content creator full time :)
I'd recommend a Gligar only run in platinum. That's the one game where it got good. Similar to gen1 Sandslash being Nidoking on steroids then losing everything that made it good until gen5 gave it actual moves in a place where it gets to shine. Seriously outside of stadium 2 earthquake Gligar the poor thing sucked until platinum gave it moves and an evolution.
@Pokemon Trainer Amanda just remember to use your tms, the poor thing still doesn't have stab without it, gen5 gave it eviolite and actual stab level up moves but gen4 is where it could actually get stab at all before the 6th gym.
And it’s interesting enough that I might try it myself. Either in Let’s go Evee or Pokémon Sword. Plus with how easy the games are this might give me a descent challenge in those games.
Yes please, I've been suggesting it for the last 6 to 7 runs. To pile onto the idea, here's some upsides. No need to press B after every level Serene Grace with its moves could be interesting It's called horrible in the manual
"!" Random thing! It has been noticed! It's in the book! Now be a proper trainer and fight me! Yay! Youngster Joey called! Definitely will be looking forward to another "No New Moves" Challenge ... maybe in a different generation :3 ... I wonder how X/Y would go with that.
X/Y aren't really a challenge making a challenge video out of it is like playing a normal playthrough of a earlier gen since the game is so f***ing easy
Player Uzumaki I would disagree, Gen 8 is probably the same difficulty, gen 7 on the other hand is easier than the early generations but not as easy as gen6 with the broken xp all, and the stupidly easy gyms, while gen 7 had an interesting replacement for gyms
I really LOVE the no new moves challenges - I fully understand that they take a lot of time and preparations, but I am already looking forward to the next one :) And its in the book ;)
trying ruby with an Aron would be interesting, though might be somewhat easy compared to a few others, but if you need a difficult one then Rhyhorn with fire red would be far, Far more difficult. maybe in the same boat as Onix, but arguably worse because of the lower speed.
“It’s in the book” Also a hg/ss run? I’d love that! They are one of my favourite Pokemon games (my favourite being black2/white 2). Maybe you could do a run in that next time you do a gen 5 run? It doesn’t just have gen 5 Pokemon in it so trainers have different Pokemon.
"It's in the book" I've always thought it a disservice to simply listen to a video, rather than actually watching it. Things like this simply make it a more enjoyable experience. Keep up the great content and I wish you the best!
Normally not a huge comment person, but "It's in the book" is exactly my kind of content. The number of "it's in the bookS" flustered me while reading, but I almost also typed it that way. Must roll off the fingers better. Also largely a huge fan and I love these more technically involved runs. Can't wait until there's a whole "No New Moves" playlist through all the gens. Keep on keeping on!
After seeing a lot of pokemon challenge, I forgot that your pokemon could evolve, so when I see that totodile evolving I was like : " Well , I guess It's in the book" .
19:07 : What's this? You must have overlooked a mistake in the script or something... Geh-rah-dose? I think you'll find it's called 'Water-Onix', good sir!
The moment you mentioned the call from youngster Joe I remembered, that I had to like your video. Really missed the youngster Joes joke Also, its refreshing to see something else than a single pokemon run c: its was fun!
That twitter joke got me XD I did like the joke itself, just not many times in one video. This comeback was surprising and gave me a laugh! It's way shorter, like an "oh btw" and resume.
“It’s in the book”. God the fact that a random meme edit of a car commercial became a major meme on the channel is wild to me. Also comments are good for the RU-vid algorithm.
"It's in the book" WHICH BOOK?!?! Also you always say what you put on to watch or do while you mindlessly grind and I've been wanting to tell you that your Pokemon challenges are what I put on when I playing other games 😁👍🏾
If you want the encounters for each route, it’s in the book. You know, the booklet that comes with the game. Like, the instruction manual. Yeah... that’s what I meant... Also, how about another themed challenge, like this, with a ‘no combat moves’ challenge. Only status, weather, and abilities for dealing damage. It’s definitely possible, but grinding would be such a pain, especially early. Maybe swap out your starter for a Pokemon with poison powder/toxic? Or, if you’re feeling particularly ambitious, a Pokemon with no status moves, but that has the ability poison point, flame body, snow warning or rough skin.
GG I mean, he made a voice reveal vid. The reason he doesn’t talk is because I think he is either French or German, forgot what it was cause haven’t watched it in a long time, and he is not good at speaking English, but most of his audience is English.
A Pokémon challenge where each time a member of your team faints, you LOSE that type for the rest of the run could be super fun and new. (I. E. Bulbasaur faints- you can’t use a grass or poison type the rest of the run.)
can you do a dratini only run. At first the only move you get is wrap and you get your next move at level 30. I could see you not do it because it can learn ice beam, thunderbolt, and fire blast. Probably not fire blast because of weak accuracy but you should do a dratini run anyway and you haven't done dratini yet.
00:47 - I think you can beat it (Its’s in the book) 14:19 - I still think you can win, but I think you may need to grind more Also, what fossil did you pick?
This comment section: 50% "Finally a new MDB video" 49,9% "Gen2 move pools suck" Me: "Finally an interesting start to the Video again (the "it's in the books" part!!!)" Btw. I don't know if you would have considered this cheating, but you could have trained up the Drowzee and traded it at a higher level. Technically "Muscle" would have a better moveset when you get it. Just a thing I was thinking about 😎
I'm not sure why it's in the book, or even what it is, but it definitely is in the book. I do have a guess as to why it's in the book though, it's pretty simple to grab all of the comments matching the phrase and divide by the total number of comments to get the percentage of people invested enough in the product to post a comment that actually follow what's on screen. Have fun with this comment, which has the phrase "It's in the book" in it three times. EDIT: Oh yeah, I had an idea for a challenge as well: Only fire-type moves. Emerald, take Torchic (or randomize something else in), and only select fire-type moves in trainer battles. Standard items clause in place, but non-fire type moves are allowed in non-trainer battles, for a few reasons: One, because Torchic doesn't know any fire-type moves at level five, and second, to facilitate catching and grinding. I think it's possible, but you'll need to get creative for Roxanne, Flannery, Juan, Drake, and Wallace.
You know how you do “if I can beat” series? I think a cool concept would be to do a race with other players who do the same concept. I.e: can I beat Pokemon red with one squirtle vs (player)? The only problem is that I know that it will take a long time to record and the other stuff but I think it would be cool and it’s something Diverse.
i remember freaking out one time because i lost a book mark that i liked. i asked my friend to help me find it after looking all over desperately. then, much to my surprise, the friend picked up my book that i was reading at the time, and showed me the bookmark i was looking so desperately for. "it's in the book," he told me
You need to look up how Bill's Grandpa works, you can do them all in one day, you just need the pokemon in the right order, get the everstone leave the house, re enter etc
