3:19 actually they kinda thought of that. You die in the cutscene when you acquire the mortal blade. I mean the whole point is that it kills anyone who draws it, but you can resurrect after it does that to you. So even if you do a no-death run, you will still have died at least once.

Shadowrush combat art was what carried me through Genichiro fight in Ashina castle. It allowed me to close distance pretty fast and also dealt nice damage so that his posture recovers more slowly. Even without mana, it was quite good.

technically you can damage the divine dragon with mortal draw. you get close to his neck when he does the attack that digs through the ground(or air in this case?). only the last hit lightning hit is necesary but at that point its safe to assume that the last lightning is the deathblow.

I'm pretty sure in the speedrun for Sekiro you can technically damage his hand with Mortal Blade though the last hit has to come from the big lightning reversal. I know you used it on Guardian Ape but just a little tidbit.

My first playthrough of this game essentially became focused around whirlwind slash with hit and run tactics, since I deflected so little. So my first run of Sekiro basically came down to chip-damaging everything to death 😁Regardless it simply is a really good combat art for that reason and it's quick, doesn't use any spirit emblems and it's the first one you can unlock.

I think Miyazaki is saying something about how the transformation from human to something else is innately uncomfortable and unnatural when he makes his dragon followers look that way. Making them look like real dragons would simply be too cool.

You can skip that lone shadow swordsman before Dad by jumping out the window of the antechamber and then grappling to the ledge. From there you only have to jump and grab the side of the castle to the top

3:19 Well, lore wise, you die only twice. Once in the temple where you're stabbed in the back but gets resurrected with blood of Divine heir (thats actually the point where you receive blood first time) and if you've somehow survived by then and haven't unlocked your resurrection ability, you'll have it unlocked after the cutscene 2nd time is a bit controversial. I personally believe its when Sekiro sacrifice himself in one of the ending (because thats when he truely dies) while many believes its when he draw mortal blade.

Honestly love this game so much. bought it back in Febuary and have 100% it since then, right now going through the resurrection mod. I love this masterpiece and I will die on the hill that nightjar slash reversal, empowered mortal draw, and shuriken are the three of the most useful and OP things in the game. i think you should redo that video using the art skills ONLY and no deflection at all. maybe you can deflect but if the posture meter is filled because of your deflection then you cant execute. only lower the enemy's health bar with your arts and use little deflection

you can damage the divine dragon with the mortal blade combat arts. it does very littel damage but it is possible. so as long as you suffer through the ape you can actually do this

I've always loved Whirlwind Slash, it's just so versatile and all-around one of the best arts in the whole game I don't care about Ichimonji or Mortal Draw, little quick spinny motion will always prevail

At 8:30, you can use Floating Passage. You spam and he won't get a chance, except once every 3 attack you need to dodge.

I'm 99% sure it's possible to damage the divine dragon with normal attacks, though it's tricky to do. You have to get close to it, and deflect its sword strikes to survive and then attack it directly when it does certain attacks. So while it might be possible it's still very difficult to do.

The absolute best result I have got on the blazing bull was with the shuriken on his "drift" and chasing slash + 3 or so hits. Shuriken actually interrupts the bull's drift.

In theory, because you allowed deflecting and killing enemies via deathblows if they need it, could you have deflected a boss to death to skip the tedious grinding part and still been inside of the challenge rules?

High monk can be used to perform lightning reversals if you catch it with the first jump.
