My Grandfather was from outside of Dunmanway and he used to tell me that the peat was where they hid all the bodies of kids who caused trouble. He was a funny/scary guy.
The Kyushu meta on the Japan round was those big fat black insulator clamps on top of the insulators 18:40 . Great video :) Edit: also his guess is kinda based on that round cause the stickers on the poles do look like the oita ones low key, hard to tell tho.
can you play against a good player but at 2am? so you guys wake up in the middle of the night play one round and go back to bed i would love to see the sleep deprived thought process
A tip based on that first round, Ireland is the country with the second highest bog coverage in Europe behind Finland so if you see that sort of bog landscape there's a good chance it's one of those two. Also, the way the peat is stacked out in the open in bricks to dry is pretty indicative of either Ireland or sometimes Scotland, as it used to be common everywhere but I believe other countries have started using other methods.
The part I find most interesting is that they were repeatedly getting the exact same wrong answer, like at 2:25 where they guessed southern Ecuador instead of Colombia. It kind of pulls back the curtain and shows how they're using similar search methods and default guesses. The skill they both show is still extremely impressive, it's just much more grounded in reality than my initial reaction to the first time I ever saw a Geoguessr pro. It looked like the pros somehow memorized every square foot of Earth. Instead they're looking at climate, road markings, utility poles, image quality, and a couple dozen other indicators to make a logical deduction of the most likely location.
I just saw a video of you coaching JackSucksAtLife. If you want to give a shot of coaching a 1100 ish rated intermediate player, I am absolutely down :D
