Great 1 under back 9! The Westin Pete Dye course is interesting for a desert course with lots of trees. We have played lots of tournaments there and on the Gary Player course there.
Thank you sir. Just a lip-out or 2 away from shooting under par is frustrating! I'm noticing my trends the more and more I create content, and proximity to the hole is something I'm really starting to hone in on. I've got to start giving myself more makeable chances!
@@TerminatorGolf I know I'm teaching you how to suck eggs but.........when my game is off I plan for the middle of the green. When I'm on I'm looking at slopes and leaving myself uphill putts. If I'm hitting 8 iron or less then I'm looking at slopes I can use to spin the ball towards the hole. I hit an 8 iron 140 max so we are playing a completely different game in that respect. I try to plan my approach shot the same as I would a chip and run with a PW from 20 yards.
@The Hairy Golfer You absolutely have that mentality correct. I have a bad (young man’s) habit of just firing at the flag, when center of the green is really what’s necessary 95% of the time. I’ve finally gotten my golf ball dialed in with the TP5X, as for years I had nothing but overspin plaguing my approach game. I like your relation to bump and run mentality...however most courses I play are so soft, the bump and run really can’t be used very often, if at all.
@@TerminatorGolf I still play a ground game when it's soft, I only go up when I have to go over a bunker. I guess we learn different games due to our age, I used to watch Seve do things with a 56, that's the higherst loft he carried. In the age of Phil everyone has a 64. I see juniors with a 60 trying to hit the low skidder that stops by the hole. A shot Pros have practiced for 1000's of hours. I don;t have the time to learn that shot so I try to keep it simple.
@The Hairy Golfer 😂 I love the low skidding wedge shot, but definitely takes practice as well as a lot of nerve to pull it off on the course....but man, when you have that shot in the bag, chipping gets a whole lot easier. I’ve just started venturing into the land of 9i or 7i chips...that roll out is something I’m just not used to yet
