18:36 well, that kill of the Tiger with the Ju 87 G is a bit odd, particularly since the regular Ju 87 dive bomber in this game doesn't do an "emergency drop". So when they do a dive and get suppressed they don't drop their bombs, which is the most sensible thing to do. Meanwhile Ju 87 G fires accurately despite fire from 2 AA guns, while having 0 vet. Not sure if the G is so much more expensive, than it would make sense in-game wise.

Those berlite grenadiers really held ground for him and stalled your pushes. Vanguard into balanced is tough. Also the AA wasn't strong enough to protect the tanks but would have cost you too much to bring more in. GG and thanks for the casts!

Biggest mistake seemed to be in how much suppression you expected 20mm AA to do. In Harteneck I absolutely take them at 1 star vet then together they can do better … really though flakverling is essential to keep AT planes off you as arty can mess up protection real quick. Note: I would much prefer to see God perspective on reflection. The pov is interesting but not as fun to watch imo.

GG to both players. Atkpwr did a great defensive job, always having something in place to stall any breakthrough. Unvetted 20mm AA is basically useless on its own. You really needed leaders near by of you were going to rely on it.

Hi after having watched Attackpowers perspective I watched yours :) I think your gameplan was very solid and, in particular the now even better than before Attackpower, needs to be thrown off balance asap in order to win. After the first few minutes I thought oh shit, not looking good when vanguard gets ticked in A. I think the initial engagements did not go well and that almost sealed the deal. Possibly it might have been helpful to use a Mortar in the initial push on the town on the hill. The two crits against the tanks were super unlucky. Only saw your Tiger plan properly in your video, which got bombed out of the picture, a costly (strategically and pointwise) loss :-/ It was a very good game though and that is what I was looking for, can't cheer for two players at the same time :D

There were a couple of situations where you seemed overly optimistic or already on the next move, playing as if you already had achieved a certain goal when you didn't. Like bringing in more troops on the far right when you didn't have the hill yet (and not bringing enough infantry to actually take the hill) and moving the Stug too far forwards when you hadn't cleared the ridge, moving up the Tiger when the houses next to it weren't under your control (even though it was the Pz4 that did killed it, could have been as well another Panzerschreck squad). It's not that you had bad plans, it's just that you tried to do B before completing A and not committing enough on one task. Since this is a league and not a tournament, does that mean we get to see more games with you in this? I sure hope so. Your series against Badgerjelly was great and I was rooting for you to go far.

And I still always think that the scale of these maps and the amount of troops is just too much. Half the map with less points or a 2v2 league/tournament would fit this game way better. You could have secured the far left flag and retaken most of the middle open ground (with Recon + long range tanks) if you had two heads but there is just too much going on that needs to be micromanaged to go well.

I do wonder how much that early AA hurt rather then helped you, yes the AT planes can be damned annoying but its also several hundred points in A which didn't help you push at all.

Yeah, this is true. The 180 points invested in AA might as well not have been there. This is my mistake for either not using veterancy with them or building my deck wrong (Should have used the truck Flakvierling)

I made the same comment on AtkPwr's video, but I loved your cheeky StuH 42 shoot position move. It was tough watching him bleed you dry on points. His commentary is funny when he's raging about losing matchups because of bad micro and RNG.

I dont understand why you play Vangard again. You play your strongest games in mid or endgames, but not in phase A :D dont brake your rules vulcan^^

I'm trying to work on my early game plays. It's all I've been practicing on the Wednesday streams. This time around it came down to a wrongly built deck and over confidence. I made too many mistakes and AktPwr capitalized because he is a very good player.

Vanguard vs. balanced seems to put you in such a bad strategic situation. It locks you into a timeline that makes your likely moves so much more predictable to your adversary. It locks your big plays into the period in which you have the lowest capacity to absorb losses; and during the period in which you have the least recon with which to direct your actions. Sure, that applies to your adversary too, but they don't need to win right away, they just need to stall. You end up doing these all or nothing strategies, continuing to throw your efforts into areas of greatest resistance.

Learning to play maverick during a competition probably isnt the best idea mate,for all the "explanations" you gave for your failings attpwr is just a better player,just more practice vulcan and stick to what you know best is my advice.

I'm using Vanguard, but yes possibly. I hope I will be able to exploit my micro more in future. The majority of the mistakes here were macro.

@@VulcanHDGaming both you and attpwr are very good micro players,i wouldnt even pretend to be half as good as you guys,i watched attpwrs youtube on the battle and you were both putting alot of pressure on each other,was a good perspective seeing it from both sides and enjoyed watching both,looking forward to watching the competition ahead.
