Iirc the Sky Scourge archetype as a whole were intended to be a kind of “retrain” of some of the most powerful effects in the game, hence why Norleras is kind of like a Chaos Emperor Dragon in its complete wipe effect
In regular game, maybe try not to do this combo, reasons being: 1. You'll probably triggering Tearlaments, Ishizu, Branded, etc. 2. Norleas can be stopped by Ash Blossom. (Well not really, because if they have Ash, they would have Ashed Tour Guide in the first place).
I tried norleras in edison, went second but resolved the combo anyway and was feeling great about having won the game. Then my opponent sent sangan from the field and dandylion + volcanic shell from their hand.
You should see twotoneshoe's build. He's using Norlares in Spyral and ending on a 4k Arrival with a Dweller negate live to stop graveyard effects. It's quite crazy.
You shouldn't use Ash Blossom against Norleras' effect because his effect can just be activated again immediately. There is no once per turn on Norleras at all.
Another fun way to get to Norleras is to use transmogrify to tribute any BA and bring Phantom of Chaos out. Find a way to dump the Norlearas and youre set.
I do this with Spyral, using Barricadeborg Blocker to add a spyral resort in endphase and leave a rescue mission in graveyard while also using Spyral's link summoning expertise to leave an Arrival on the field. And you stack their top card with drone so you can brick their only draw after you loop them! It's not even a gimmick, it's actually a fully consistent combo. It can even make Abyss Dweller part way through the combo to play around Tearlaments.
I ran the whole event with a similar deck, it's hilarious to play A funny strat is also to trigger Farfa on your final link monster. If you Farfa banish Unicorn (or Gryphon/Abomination if you're lucky enough to reach link 4 AND have farfa ready) it will come back at the end of the turn after Norleras wiped everything else. Fun extra things you can run with this - Zalamander Catalyzer : summons BA without their effect and jumps back to your hand from the grave later, bridges almost anything in the deck with small world - Diabolica the Draconique General : Ochtros can search it, pitch it with a Knightmare before summoning Norleras and will summon itself back from GY after Norleras' effect - Absolute King Back Jack : Stack your deck before or after Norleras' effect, use it on the opponent's turn to pitch a BA for disruption
I liked this video format, you should do more of it. Also yeah, Labrynth might be a menace for the event but Unchained Labrynth with no Spell Cards is just funnier.
I miss playing Sky Scourge Norleras BA! I played him in my BA during Kozmo format because you know, Norleras SENDS the ships, doesn't destroy them. Plus playing Fusion Dante in my build was good too
Oh I remember that guy, he was popular in OG Darklord Chaos fairies, a mix that used dark & light 8star fairies. He would be sent to grave however and banished off Phantom of Chaos for an easy boardwipe.
If you could you should've added Doublebyte Dragon, link 2 that gets attack based on the link rating of the monsters used for summonig him and unaffected by monster effects. He stays on the field when you use Norleras effect
Would Verte into DPE work better? Something like 1.do the combo in the video 2.summon Dagda 3.use it to summon Verte 4.summon Norleras 5.Verte activate, summon DPE 6.DPE pop itself 7.activate Norleras, hand rip 8.next turn DPE comes back (unless your opponent top deck Called By & toggle on) Though i guess the fusion material are bricks....
That animation is for all cards in the field that activate without creating a chain. It includes stuff like the drawing additional cards from unicorn to the Lab Field Spell, and even Dark Nurse
Actually they're NOT an archetype because they lack a card(s) that refers to them as "Sky Scourge monsters" so the correct term for them would be a series of monsters :)
People say EEV was toxic. This card is both a board wipe and a complete hand rip against your opponent and nobody is talking about. This card needs to be banned
Bro there is a reason why eev sees meta play and NO ONE plays this shitty 2007 card. Because it's BAD. It's a sacky janky card that resolves maybe 10 % of the time
