Honestly, i wouldn't count lights as objects if you didn't count the windows.

The backstory for this house: A wealthy couple lost all their money and now have to work 9-5 jobs like the rest of us so they can only afford 20 items in their house. That explains the lack of furniture!

this was me when I didn't know about money cheats but wanted the expensive items

*Without looking first* Fridge but no stove, they can eat salad. Use two "island" counters with stools, they can double as a food prep surface and dining table. Toilet. Stand alone sink. Bed. Mirror (you can replace a mirror with a dresser, but not the reverse), Laptop, which can be sat on an island counter, then put in Sim's inventory when not in use. Shower. Combo tv/radio/bookshelf from tiny houses mounted where it can be viewed from the stools. I think that describes every starter house I have ever built. Except the combo from Tiny Houses, I'd probably break that into the separate parts for economy's sake. How'd I do?

I did something similar where I started off with a very small amount of objects and slowly grew the collection buying only necessities and hobby objects as my sim got married, had kids, etc. I eventually ended up with over 100 objects. I also had very little packs at the start and now I have 12, so it’s interesting to see what packs I used then vs now.

Ohhhh I have a hugggeeee feeling EA would celebrate the 21st aniversary by allowing CC creators to work on a community gift together... ❤

The "missing item" was just the counter under the kitchen sink, it was counted separately in the beginning.

Love the absurd definition of essential here xD like, coffee table, yes, nightstand, yes, laptop AND TV, yes! But a dresser? Debatable. A sink in the bathroom? Why have two sinks in the house when you can have a rug! Right now I literally don't own a rug, coffee table, TV or even a couch for that matter

I think the key to this was using multipurpose object. a murphy bed/couch combo. that tiny living shelf/tv, instead of a table with chairs use an island with chairs. No other kitchen cabinets. things like that
