Update: Since making this video I boarded an airplane with over 20 Zippos on my carry on bag with no issue. So the answer stands, yes you may travel with Zippo Lighters.
@@Save0urS0uls thanks for the comment! No, none of my Zippos had fuel in it. On my way back, I had 75 Zippos in my carry on. The automatic bag sorter lit up my entire bag. After TSA consulted with several members of management, I showed the TSA agent the guide lines from the print out and they let me through without incident. It was nerve racking, I strongly recommend that one does not take 75 Zippos on their carry on 😂😂😂
@@ghostfave1216 kept it in the bag. None of the Zippos had fuel. On the way back I had about 60 zippos in the bag. It got flagged, but they let me go when I showed them the print out from the TSA.
Yeah, i got a story about on the way back, my bag got pulled out of the line and they were debating on letting it through or not. However the paper work pulled through and they let me on about my way.
I had 20 zippos in a carry on bag today and had no issues, but I had all my documents ready. If they did try to stop me they would either be smart and honor their policy, or be your typical tyrant. Thankfully they did their job correctly lol. I’ve heard horror stories though.
2 weeks ago I was on a flight from Lisbon to Helsinki...my luggage didn't arrived "due to security reasons" it was stopped for over 2 weeks (literally I just got it today) and they took out my 3 lighters (1 zippo and 2 of those flame lighters), however what bothers me the most, is that it doesn't make any sense for me whatsoever, that as a collectionist you can't buy lighters from other countries and put them in your hold luggage, because they'll take them out...like how are you supposed to buy souvenirs (lighters) if you can't carry them in your hold luggage?... I'd understand if it was in the hand one..but it wasn't...
Thanks for sharing, I agree. International shipping is very similar sometimes. I have had friends who live in the UK, visit the US, they have that person in the US ship the lighters to them so they don’t have to worry about TSA or other custom agencies. Most of the time that works.
Im gonna be flying with air canada real soon, gonna be carrying 6 zippos brand new from one province to another. Been real paranoid about whether they will or wont allow me to keep em
On my flight to from Germany back to the US I had 4 zippo's in a fire safe bag in checked luggage. They took'em apart and emptied the whole fuckin insert. All that shit together, wick, the cotton, and the pad thingy from zippo is worth like two brand new ones. You got any tips for something more cost efficient?
Unfortunately international travel is another ball game. It is a hit or a miss. Similar to international shipping it is at the discretion of the customs agent. Best advice for international travel is either leave the insert behind, or have someone ship the lighters to the US. My rule of thumb is “I only display the case.” In the worst case scenario if they won’t let me travel with a Zippo, I’d rather lose the insert than lose it all.
@@gavin.lannan that comes from a lot of experience from my international friends! I’m learning about customs and foreign laws everyday. Glad I could help!
Yeah, U.S. has stupid laws when it comes to air travel, can't bring a lighter on a plane because of Richard Reid the shoe bomber, can't bring a water bottle on a plane because of this en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006_transatlantic_aircraft_plot
Hate to hear that, should have just removed the insert and kept the case. You can send in an empty case to Zippo and they will put in an insert for free.
I’m not sure of international laws and regulations. However, I would assume the answer would be no. They really are stiff on butane Lighters. Sometimes they require an approved plane safe container.
the blue case you showed at 2:39, Prometheus travel case, even trying the web address on the sticker i cannot find this case. where can i get one? thank you.
You could try searching for "zippo otterbox" that one has a clear lid and foam inserts the hold the zippo nice and tight.probably ebay would be your best bet. That's where I got mine
He literally said it at the beginning. You could’ve just googled it if you were in such a hurry that you didn’t want to waste 5 whole minutes of your life… it’s not that serious. Calm down.
