I've fished in a harbour with corse tackle in my teens got laughed at by local anglers... that was until I started smashing the fish. Been out with a feeder caught first carp of the season while 20 carp anglers watched. Was the only angler out of group of 15 at a trout fishery to catch . Using just a large lob worm with big hook so it sank naturally. Never had the best tackle, but always out fished my mates . Know your venue, water movement , weather , and species.
Nice to see you can catch fish with allmost everything, in my time we had a old bamboo rod and an French old reel but allways catch fish, nice video mate, like it 👍👍

the thumb pic, reminds me of this guy I use to hike with. ON EVERY thumb, to EVERY one of his videos, he's making that same face. but on his videos, NOTHING, is seen directly. It ALL must be viewed past him. He is NEVER out of the video, even for .001265 seconds! The entire video it shot with a selfie stick of one kind or another. and when he sees we are filming or anyone, weather he knows them or not, he bolts to jump in the shot! He is absolutely bonkers crazy and like a 12 year old girl with his selfies. So, that expression on your face, We refer to that as doing a Jason.
My daughter used a 6ft telescopic rod and match reel at age 8. Now she’s 11 and using a 9ft carp rod and baitrunner reel and can cast tight up to pads and islands at distance 😊 Proud
I brought a matt hayes kids telescopic set up from argos £22 6ft 20g cast weight and had a good few pike on, admitted i did change the reel and line but the rod itself is great😆😆 check them out
My PB to this day still stands at a 24lb common carp caught on a 3 foot pen rod (those crappy Chinese lixada things from Amazon!).Something about size not mattering? ;)

Ya big kid! 😂 In fact, my first ever proper rod was not too unlike it. FG rod with a plastic handle. It was a casting rod with the trigger finger, but back then (50s - yes, that old) we had no idea what it was for. Caught lots of nice fish including perch on it though, but using a cheap little tin-plate centrepin.
is tis river was governed by very cool and clean people? I can't believe my eyes seeing such a clean river without any industrial factory nor the drainage sewage from houses around it..

Hey fella. Just got an outus and it’s a cool lure wicked action, my new go to lure. Just shows you though about the kit. Was fishing with my nieces few years back and I caught nothing and they both caught jacks. This was their first time fishing and reeling erratically/jerky which did the trick. Keep em coming mate

I’ve not fished in nearly 20 years and I just bought myself a very cheap £50 set up and I was worrying about it not being good enough but you’ve just proved to me I’ve got a chance lol I can’t believe I didn’t catch this vid last year I’ve noticed a few now that I didn’t watch so it’s good going back over the oldies. Great video. It just proves you don't need to spend loads on gear to catch decent fish. When you let go of the rod i was literally crying with laughter.
