Your shorts on this project just came across my feed, and I just loved it, though I have not seen the movie. You did an amazing job, but I did have a suggestion for your "water". The mylar is a perfect material for it, and I thought, if you want to preserve it for longer, you can always use a clear, thin vinyl over it. The vinyl will be a bit more sturdy to walk across, socks or not, and would keep it from tearing or the edges possibly curling. So cute!
I'm Japanese. I'm using an interpreter because I can't speak English. I'm sorry if I made a mistake. I'm a big fan of sparrow locking. I met you in a short video and came here. This is a great quality! I was impressed! I'll also recommend it to my Japanese friends! Thank you for the wonderful video. ありがとう。
Another option if you’d like to try this at home is instead of the reflective material you could use an anime water-patterned rug that is available for order online. Of course the effect wouldn’t be as magical but it might be a better option depending on the living space you would like to put the door in.
I love adding magic and whimsy into your everyday life. Now I need to go find this movie because I have not heard of it but your video makes me want to see it. As a kid I had a dream about an arched doorway in the middle of a wildflower field and that image always stuck with me.
Seems like the hardest thing to maintain is that mylar floor. Perhaps you can install clear plexiglass over it? The mirror effect should show thru without much muting. Since you are a shoeless home-scuffs will be minimal. Good job on this recreation, I can see the joy that it brings! ♥️
I’m just stopping in for a moment to let you know: you have given me a love for Suzume. I remember watching you make this door and hearing about the movie and deciding that it would be fun to watch sometime. I saw it last night and I’m so happy I did! Thank you so much!
i came across the part 2 shorts of this project yesterday and this video popped up today. the chipped paint on the door looks so good, very impressive project.
For my small scale diorama's I would mix glue, paint and baking soda together. The soda would react, fizz a bit and create a bubbly, foamy texture, similar to how expanding foam reacts. The glue keeps the texture intact, and you could thin with a little water if you add too much soda
For the foams, if u intend to venture into it again in the future, i suggest getting the hot wire machine thingy so all u need to do it wait for the wire to be hot, and slide your way through the foams. I didn't know that too till longer down the road. IT FAVED MY HAND'S LIFE FROM ALL THE HACK SAWING.
I just found your channel bc of this video, and this is SO COOL, Soo so beautiful and made me want to watch the movie so badly! I haven’t heard of it but seeing this door.. it is enough to get me extremely interested and curious, such a wonderful DIY and gives me some ideas for my own room, thank you!🥰
I havent seen the movie yet, but your YT shorts drew me in and this was such an awesome project to follow! It turned out to beautifully awww I'm so happy for you.
I'm Just another viewer who saw your short video by chance... I have not seen the film, but I love it already. If I may suggest something too: Golden Pothos can tolerate some low light, as a result it might go just green, but If you plant a Pothos in a pot behind your brick wall, and gradually tie it to the vines as it grows, it will cause your door to evolve. One word of caution with Pothos: it can latch on to the wall if left unchecked, regularly check it along the nodes so that nothing is latching on - however its not something that happens over night - make it part of your routine when tying it to the vine. The result is a mixed foliage effect. Neon Pothos also tolerates lower levels of light, and goes light green instead of neon yellowy green... If you worry about the cats digging the soil out, place egg size cobble stones on the soil it will stop the cats from digging. I'm a plant geek, my home is full of plants, and I think everyone should have plants. I read this back and I sound like I'm telling you to do it - I'm just suggesting, this project of your excited me and I couldn't resist... And basically just a great big fat WELL DONE!!! Oh... and love that your partner is so cool about you having all these projects on the go. Keep creating. Edit: I just ordered one copy of the film, I hope it is in English or at least has subtitles 🙂
Omg I’m so with you on the ranking of the movies. My boyfriend thinks Your Name is better than Suzume. He hasn’t seen Weathering with you yet. Though all three are amazing movies so picking a favourite is not really necessary.
It's A.M.A.Z.I.N.G...❤ I almost shout giggled along with you when you show us and yourself saw the final result. Suzume is one of my favourite movies also... And to be able to recreate something of your favourite shows, also within your budget and out of scratch, it really feels something else. No words is enough to describe the feelings. I have done similar kind of project. So, somehow I can relate to it. The puddle and the "otherside" looks exactly as the movie. I am glad you decided to add these parts, otherwise it won't look or feel like "the door". All the best for your future projects. ❤👍 Love from India ❤. P.s Shota chair looks really Cute.
Hello ! I love the door ! It looks very nice. Having a piece of your favourite media in your own house is very magnificent and satisfying ! Can I request something if you don't mind ? Do you have the link to the galaxy projector ? Like where you brought it from and stuff ?
I loved the project ! Looks very close to the original. Having a piece in your home reminding you of a story you love is so beautiful ! Also if you don't mind, where did you find the galaxy projector ? It looked so cool and so close to those expensive planetarium images. I observed that you have white walls where its projected. Does it only work well on whites or can it still work decently on colours ? Thats all !!! Thank you again ! I loved your project !
I lost it at 14:44 when she went "why am i not doing it upside down?" like 🤣 and right before when she was making tha tape contraption for the leg i was so impressed thinking "that's genious!" lmao 🤦♀ On a more serious note, this is my first video of yours that i'm seeing and i love your personality!! 😁😁 Subbed!
OK, it was the shot of you running through the door at the end that did it for me. 😄😄 You really made an amazing replica! Edit: Wait. Is it called a replica if there isn't actually one that exists already for you to replicate?
