Oh wow emong saying “I think if the rein goes in and charges and shatters, it’s the rein.” And then the rein immediately doing exactly that. GOLD I TELL YOU THIS CONTENT IS GOLD. I’d love to see the opposite as well, having a pair of plats being the imposters in a bronze game.
I think the trick to this is not paying attention to positoning or aim, it's to who is throwing the LEAST. All the Plats were over fixating on being the biggest idiots imaginable and picking the worst spots to attack and hold, and oftentimes just feeding. The Bronzes were sticking to their lanes and doing what they normally do, which is usually a lot less questionable positoning than the feeding Plats.
I genuinely love this content. Secret Bronze is way more entertaining. Especially because you get to see how other ranks not only think bronze players play..but to watch a whole group of people secretly winning and throwing at the same time is a delight.
both the support players switched, tris and goldengoose. at the first round, goose was moira and tris was ana. second round goose was ana and tris was kiriko. i wish we got to see more of tris's gameplay on ana because i think the most we got from this video is when she slept the moira.
Guessed both correctly. The trick is to look for obvious bad plays. Best example is that Lucio right in the beginning. Or the rein that just yolo'd in with mouse sense turned way down. Red team was harder because They were showed less, but the bastion was consistently average.
It was obviously Kiriko but honestly I feel like the fact that Bastion wasn't using turret form (until the last clip) that much made me believe that it was a plat pretending to be bronze but in reality a bronze player would heavily rely on turret form
This one was so much fun to film, I can't even tell you. Watching it happen when you know who's trolling and who's trying was so funny that I couldn't breathe from laughing. Can't wait to do it again!
I love this idea! This was a ton of fun, and I love any video series that can be interactive or "play along" like this. It's not easy, either. I picked Tris for the Moira game play (though the Kiriko was much better), but I NEVER would have picked the Bastion.
Blue tank looked like they just plugged in a controller instead of mouse+keyboard and decided to just run at the enemy and got away with it more than they thought they would.
Just a few minutes in and I'm cracking up. This is such a good idea because it's a balancing act of trying to play as badly as possible while still winning. This should become an actual workshop game mode where 2 spectators play the part of emongg as a third team of sorts, and point are awarded for winning the game if you're playing or guessing correctly if you're spectating
@emongg I love this concept but I feel like there still needs to be an incentive for the teams to win. Maybe a small prize pool or something twitch related
Great video! Echoing another comment. For this format to work 'fairly' to the guesser is the teams have to actually want to win. Otherwise it's just a bunch of players inconsistently throwing, not caring if they don't win, and somewhere in there is a player who also has no reason to want to win but is just playing the game at their own level. Love all these different formats and the pacing of their release over the week. Keep it up!
i think it would also be fun if you had each player on the team at a different rank and had to match rank to player, but i'd understand if thats too close to your 'guess my sr' series lol. either way great vid and id love to see another!
So, I misremembered the setup for this and was trying to spot the secret *higher* player, up until about halfway through... This makes so much more sense now lmao
I think a good idea for this series would be to tell the teams that they have to win the game and avoid detection. If they can do both maybe that team could have a reward along the lines of skin codes or something similar (maybe get blizzard in on this).
@@Fixxyo Normally I would agree, but they gave out free codes for the One Punch Bundle in Jay3's chat for every 10 push ups he could do (60). They seem to be trying to get back into the community.
I’m less than 5 min in and watching 8 plat/Diamond players try to be bronze is so much more entertaining than watching 2 gms try to be gold. This has to become a full series, it will just devolve with the meta that the higher ranks find out
I kinda like this concept a little bit more than when people do a video on how bad a bronze player is and just spend the entire video dogging on them. Most of us hard stuck bronze people probably know we aren't amazing and have a problem with either positioning, mechanical skill, or reaction time. However, getting recognition for playing well even if the other team members are "throwing" or "memeing it up" is still nice to see.
I was actually paying more attention to sensitivity and intent. The players who seemed to be taking the match serious were my candidates. Most of these people were intentionally aiming slow, as a kind of exaggeration of low bronze, but if the bronze in this game are Bronze 1/2 then they play more like silver players. And the difference between the non-bronze metal ranks is mostly game sense and aim. Positioning is relatively the same silver - plat.
yeah, especially since emongg was basing most of his guesses on positioning. support players will naturally position themselves behind their teammates for the most part, and from my experience in bronze/low silver most of the time i died was because my team was out of position, and therefore i felt i also had to be to do my job. the way i climbed was forcing good position and letting out of position teammates just die. if you put bronze players with higher metal ranks, they will naturally gravitate to better posistioning. though, the kiriko still wasn't in the optimal place when emongg commented on it. that would be to the left of the enclosed bench area to block LOS from enemies peeking around the fire truck. i think the best way to gauge support players positioning mistakes in order to guess a bronze from plat would be to see how willing and ready they are to try to save an out of position teammate, which the kiriko did at least once. it is no doubt the most common reason bronze support players can't climb.
You can tell that Ana was trying. Unlike the other players who were trying to troll and throw. So I disagree. Also the tank was trying to hard to look like a bot, like if you ask plat and higher players what bronze players play and look like that's what they would come up with
What a good video, I would also love to see two teams each with a: bronze, gold, silver, diamond and master and you have to guess who is who in the team (everyone plays according to their rank)
You cannot tell me tris is a bronze. They get kills, sleep ults, position well enough most of the time, and have decent aim with both ana and kiriko shots. I'm diamond 5 and they play just as good and better than me at some points.
This feels very similar to when watching streamers vodreview a suspected cheater. Just waiting to see one slip up or sus moment, and then second guessing whether it was luck or not. Amazing content
I was very wrong on it being Tris as their positioning was pretty good. What made me say it was Pablo is that Cass is an amazing mercy boost target but bastion was getting that extra help (to make them not stick out). It clearly worked though lol
This is a lot harder when you have a bronze 1 player that simply hasn't played comp a lot and their rank doesn't correspond to their true skill. Get in a bronze 5 player that you get from flats bronze reviews and suddenly this goes from very hard to guess to impossible lol
It would be fun to have two teams play against each other but one player on each team is trying to lose. So you’d get a point for guessing the thrower correctly and a point for winning. Or as the thrower, a point for not being guessed and a point for losing
I knew it wasn't Goose when they started punching at the Rein (trying to make people think she was throwing the 'nade so Rein would drop shield), I've never seen anyone doing that in Bronze. Similar story with Elf when they were Moira. Most dps Moiras in Bronze don't think to chuck the healing orb as they go in for the dps, it's double damage and death lol. Had no idea it was the Bastion tho lmao. Red team was had an easier time disguising their bronze because of that tbh.
wait i only just now thought about it on my second rewatch, this can be SUPER hard if you focus only on positioning because it could be assumed that the teams are allowed to use coms, and other people can tell someone where to position
@@Bbistheman_ I was 3 stacked with 2 of my mates yesterday. I’m diamond 3 tank, they are D2 supp and P4 dps. Yesterday we had the same thing, silver dps on Nepal went 3-13 with 3k damage. The enemies didn’t have one player below plat 4
@@brandonbrown5023 well ig thats overwatch im gold tank and support and always get atleast 1 bronze from what I see otherwise every person om my teams career profile is private
@@Bbistheman_ that has to suck for him so bad though. He *knows* he's not meant to be there, and there's no way to learn when everyone else so far outclasses him. Impressed he got the 7 kills at all
The thing that makes this tough imo is that in lower ranks it's not just bad players, it's mostly people who don't know how to play *as a team* so when it's not a full team of them you don't necessarily see the same habits pop up.
Its hilarious watching this and seeing the disconnect between how high level players see bronze players, and how bronze players actually act. You have all these players acting like they're playing with one hand, and then you see the ana who is actually playing the game 😂
looking at plats and diamonds together on the same team and you really start to notice plat and up dont change much in skill, it just gets slightly more optimized at that point
I guessed tris right because they were the only one on that team who looked like they were trying but making some mistakes and still backlining because they weren’t confident, if he spectated the bastion longer I probably would’ve been able to tell especially cause I main bastion, but I thought it was wrecking ball, him getting stuck seems like something I would do and some of the grapples looked like misplays, I’m horrible at ball and it just looked like watching myself play
"I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me. " -Emongg probably
That's literally impossible to guess, because plats are mostly playing like a low diamond player but they almost always have this bronze moments when they feed thier brains out, add "on purpose trolling" to the mix, and then you got the perfect shit show where everyone could be anything
I went from bronze 5 to gold 2 in a month and from my experience there is some people that should not be in bronze, but on the other hand there is people in higher ranks like silver, gold and plat that either is having a very bad day, or definitely should not be in those ranks.
Why was this so entertaining but yet so hard to watch at the same time? You want to figure out who it is but some of the plays just make your skin crawl.
I'm at 7:36 and I'm going Ana. The reason I picked Ana is bc her aiming when she was healing while ADS was slow. It legitimately looks like how I used to play Ana when I was a high bronze before I got good at quick scoping and climbed to high gold. The aiming looks exactly like how mine used to look Edit: I'm now 15 mins in and I'm going mercy on the other team Edit 2: dang I got them both wrong
Ok but I kinda wanna see a game without higher ranks pretending to be bronze. Just as a control game, or 3 (for science), to see how easy it would be to spot the difference for Emongg and us players of all ranks. Would bronze recognize bronze? :D
I havent finished this video yet, but I'm just gonna comment on who I think it is. I'm almost 100% sure that it's Tris (ana and kiriko). It seemed like they actally tried while the rest of the team just walked straght into the enemy team, like if they were compleatly new players who almost never played ow before (and I have no idea who it is on the enemy team, but maybe the moira) Edit: YES! I KNEW IT WAS TRIS
Genuinely bamboozled by how Emongg didn't guess Tris. The rest of that team (ESPECIALLY ninjatiger) were memeing hard as hell and making it kinda obvious, lol. Orisa's that play like that just straight up don't exist 🤣
I mean Pablo didn't have the greatest positioning but he sure doesn't act like a Bronze. If he just focused more on grinding or got someone to duo with him he could easily climb to Gold.
I thought it was ana the entire team, but should have known better when they did the reload animation cancel/melee trick. That's a muscle memory a bronze player wouldn't have.
At 9:43 You said you were gonna give another look at the anna, you do realise that the healers switched characters at HT right? And the original anna you were contemplating was now the kiriko?
Is there no incentive to winning the game? If there isn't then each team is just going to all-out do their best to hide their bronze player, and do some throwing. If there is one then the better players will tend to play better unconsciously due to the incentive. Also I recognize some names from previous videos, like NinjaTiger who played as the plat team's tank in the recent plat vs bronze but plat loses 1 player each time they win video.
The goal should be that 1. You can't spot the bronze 2. The team that wins gets some type of incentive (be on your videos more or something idk) that way they have to carry the bronze but also play like a bronze. It would make it harder for them to play like a bronze. It's a double edged sword
