I thought I lost my DS when I went camping in 2015. About two years ago, my laptop case was put outside and was forgotten. I took in the laptop case inside and I found my DS slipping out of the cover. With all that water damage, it charges but the screen blinks before dying again.

The screen blinking probably means one of the screens is damaged. I'm working on a water damaged DS right now and they refuse to charge or turn on. Whichever screen flashes, the other one is likely the broken one

Would a rubbing Alcohol work as well? I have a DS Lite that got wet, thankfully it was just the surface a while ago. But it stopped working, this video was really helpful, funny that the orange light for charging still goes on for a little while.

This is way to hard for me I give up. Years ago I accidentally spilt bubbles on my dsi and found it yesterday it should not turn on I put it on the charger the orange light that means it is charging Goes on for a second and dissaperes

Have you tried removing the battery and powering it on directly from the power adapter?

i have a nintendo dsi and a bit of water went onto it, first it started flashing then the top screen went dark but not off. but all of a sudden the top screen went black and it doesnt read the sd card or turn on camera. the bottom screen works fine though, please help me mate i have had this dsi for 11 years.

My dsi wont read games i tryed to clean it but sill wont read now i cant Download games cause the dsi shop is discontinued 😢😢😭😭

I have a new 2ds that was soda damaged a couple of years ago, today I put it on the charger and it charges and works like normal should I be worried at all? P.s. I have no idea how to do this even if I had the supplies, but I'm worried that if i continue using it as normal it will stop working eventually

No you should be fine the biggest problem is corrosion forming or short circuiting while its wet. If you haven't had any problems since the spill you wont have any issues relating to the spill now.

@@TheCasualCreator1 Cleaned mine and didnt work, i wonder if the battery went bad, my wife turned on the console after the console got wet. Motherboard looks good, no burn marks or anything strange.

@@vids4fun Yeah that for sure a possibility , it's definitely no no to turn something on after it gets wet . I've made the same mistake before some years back with my phone . But that's most people's first reaction omg it's wet hope it still work . *Power on...... fried ! I ran into a dead end with this project . The rest of the footage is essentially more trouble shooting but no solution , so I decided to hold off on uploading until I have a solution . So I ordered a DS with a broken screen from eBay for $8 and I'm going to salvage the board from that . Just waiting for it to arrive to shoot the video .

I have a nintendo ds xl that has fallen into the water and sometimes comes on sometimes a white screen appears and when it turns on if I open an application it tells me with a black screen that I have to restart the console how can I fix it?

First step will be to take it apart and clean all the corrosion from the board .Using 99% isopropyl alcohol and. Q tips and synthetic brushes . Power it back on and see what happens if that doesn't work try checking the solder points on some of the connections to see if the need to be repaired or blown components that need to be replaced .if that doesn't wokr the main board may be irreparably damage and needs to be replaced .

My 3ds was found floating in a basement flood a couple years ago and after that all that worked was the light when I charged it. Do you know if that can be fixed or should I just buy an old ds instead

Your should attempt to open it and clean off all of the corrosion with 90% isopropyl alcohol and let and it dry . From there attempt to power it on if that doesn't work it's honestly not worth the hassle after that . I swapped and checked components with no luck .
