Best wishes. Study good for the 2024 107 as it was different than previous years test with the updated laws and such. I never did the TRUST certificate myself and only the 107.
@@DiyintheGhetto ...... Registration with the FAA is not hard at all. The T.R.U.S.T. aka recreational test was reported not to be hard at all and was reported that it could not be failed. HOWEVER the actual 2024 107 commercial incense ?the only drone license that a person can actually be paid for or even work for a profitable company even for free, kinda confusing I know) , the 107 commercial drone test does require study time on the updated 107 materials and can be difficult if self study or without the proper material. However the 107 registration after successfully passing that exam is not hard at all. Regarding the 107, successful passing of the exam is first, then the background check, the background check and registration of the temporary license is then obligated to do. Once the registration/temp 107 certification is done, it is only good for 180 days between that time, the person receives their regular one in the mail. I myself studied and took the 2024 107 license therefore I did not need to go through the Recreational T.R.U.S.T. test or registration however it is very much similar where the registration is concerned anyways.
@@DiyintheGhetto .... Keep in mind, the T.R.U.S.T recreational certification is good for Ife and can cover several drones per registration. I would recommend using a label maker to apply the registration number to either the recreational and or commercial drones for instance, I unfortunately came across a situation due to high winds during a recovery attempt during flight, the wind blown the drown on the opposite side of a area landing thankfully in soft bushes and was recovered and returned to me when I thought it flown in the water on the opposite side of the lake. Having the registration number applied via label maker where it will not come off, if the person that is located is honest and trustworthy, you have a chance to retrieve your lost drone just by having the registration number on it. Where the recreational registration number is good for life if you want it to be, the license for the 107 certification for the license, a test must be taken every two years passing the exam with a 70% or greater test score and cost "175 us dollars per test. If for some reason one fails the exam, they can retake the exam as early as two weeks later for another $175 us dollars however must report the first failure of the exam during the retake in which in my opinion is not a good thing. The 2024 exam for the most part seems to be much harder than previous years due to the new laws and such. the FAA recommends anywhere from 14 to 20 or 21 days minimum to study. I studied for just 8 days and passed it however I was accustomed to passing all the older exams with scores that I can prove from 95% , 97.5%, 98% and a few times a solid 100% on all my test, my lowest score ever on past exams was a 88% a while back however the 2024 is indeed for the most part harder and must be studied for. If you ever go for the 107 exam, I recommend scoring at least a 95% accuracy on previous exams or known verified practice exams without failure in order to successfully guarantee a passing grade on the hardest 2024 exams currently. Of course they rotate exams so it is difficult to know which one you would get before being able to complete a registration. Just a bit of advice.
Few months late but I'm considering getting a small drone for recreation and was wondering if you could recommend some study material to help pass the test
If a buy a dji mini 2se and have a massive Field no 1 can complain just to test it a will get a licence but can you test it for like 1 battery in the UK a won't be going over 20 to 50ft ????
Are there weight limits on UAS when flying Recreationally? And what requirements do you have to follow regarding Remote ID? If flying a sub 250g UAS recreationally do you have to have Remote ID?
I have a question. Would we need that test if We are just learning to start to fly say a Rc helicopter or a quadcopter and stay with in 10 to 30 ft if we are just learning? I'm new to all this and was curious. I got my UAS license for Recreational flying. I messed up a little on a couple of questions on the forth area. But I was able to fix it and pass.
@Cornsipper .... It's a certification document not a card that was able to be printed up. I will double check that and call the FAA tomorrow just in case. What I printed up was not a card though. I am not positive but I understand the permanent card can take about two months to actually receive by mail. That is okay however as I would like more drone time prior to working commercial jobs as I am new to the industry and already have work lined up for when I feel comfortable. I am getting better by the day now. My first new DJI drone brand new was stolen so I am using a training drone to gain the experience before buying a new DJI.

You would need to take and pass the Trust test and fly only for recreation with the mini drone. You would not need to have an FAA part 107 certificate if flying only for recreation
If your drone is under 250g and you are flying recreational, then yes you do not need anything. But if you are flying commercially, regardless of weight, you need to comply. And these are just the official rules of the FAA that we report on. Not complying can result in hefty fines and more, so we just want to educate drone flyers.
I think FAA will start updating the rules once RU-vid gets flooded with FPV drone hobbyist uploading videos of their under 250gram cine whoops flying around city buildings, close to airports, inside crowded malls, and annoying the public but they will state the "my drone is under .55lbs" excuse.
