I also must say the fact that you are always willing to give up a first-class seat just to make up time is amazing. No snobbiness on this channel. Thanks jeb. 💪🏾 💪🏾 💪🏾
dude does this every week. Hes flown first class more than you can count, and on a flight less than half an hour where the only difference is a fatter seat who could care less about that seat. most people would actually prefer a whole row than a single first class seat
To me, I don't see much benefit of flying 1st class especially on regional flights. The only time I would consider 1st class/Business Class is international. Being cramped for 8-12 hours in economy is worth the upgrade.
For the Southwest video, looks like they fly to around 13 different cities in California alone...I wonder if you could plan a trip that flies exclusively within California and tries to visit as many of the cities as you can in a day...that would be a fun one for Suzanne to plan out!
@@josephtafur Southwest airlines does not call them hubs but they do have bases of operation and here are the three biggest Dallas Love, Houston Hobby and Chicago Midway.
I love watching these hub-hopping videos. I think it would be really cool to see a video trying to hit every 'hub' in Southwest's network. (I could be mistaken, but I think Southwest calls them domiciles due to crew base locations)
Washington National is such a great airport, and the connection to the DC Metro is one of the best airport rail connections in the country, perhaps THE best in the country. Love the new modern interiors too, really feels like an up to date hub.
Lol..WTF is WRONG with you? I live in DC and NOBODY I know uses Reagan..Most people who live in the DMV - DC/Maryland and Virginia, either go to Dulles or occasionally BWI, because flights are much cheaper than DCA
Jeb, I love all of your videos. Thank you (and Suzanne) for the time you take and energy you spend in filming, editing, and uploading them. The knowledge you expound on us about flying, flights, airfare, etc., is much appreciated. The education it provides is very much worth it. You basically are presenting video research for those of us who get overwhelmed by the written information on the internet. Again, thank you! Also, your bloopers are a riot as well.
PHX is the most exhausting connection, every time! My favorite hub is CLT, it is not too humongous and easy to get through, and my son works for AA in the ground crew there, so even if i am not stopping over, i always get a few minutes of family time. This was a great video as always.
I love how you and Suzanne met at DCA. I had a sweetie who lived in the DC metro area and I used to travel from Arizona to DCA for weekends with her. Almost 20 years later I still have special memories of arriving at DCA, usually on a Delta flight from ATL, and being greeted with a great hug and a kiss and the pleasure of having a wonderful woman on my arm as we took the escalator down to the baggage claim. DCA is a magical airport.
Hey Jeb, I was on both your Charlotte and ORD flight. I wanted to say high but you were in the middle of filming so I decided not to bother. It was nice to have the MIA to ORD gate right next to the CLT to MIA gate. Glad to see the rest of your trip went well. Cheers 🥂
Thank you Jeb, I appreciate not having to listen to you explain to everybody that has tears on their face for you flying places in the fuel that it takes. I mean the planes are gonna fly regardless if you’re on them or not so rationalizing doesn’t actually make sense
American is definitely my airline of choice when I fly into PHX. Granted, it’s always just a short flight from my home airport, SNA, but still it’s far more enjoyable than Southwest. Thanks for taking the time to make this great video.
He got out of the northeast quickly and did it first. That helped. If he had started in Chicago, then DFW, and points east before making his way to the northeast and then cross country JFK to LAX it would have been delay after delay.
@@JeanClaudeCOCO Agreed. One of the big reasons the Northeast is so challenging is that even when the issue is weather, or maintenance, the congested airspace means there are no shortcuts to be found, and speed restrictions are common to maintain spacing. Same with Florida, actually. It's much easier to make up for delays out west. Source - I make the flight plans
I am blessed to arrive in and depart from every one of these hubs on American except for PHX, which was US Airways' (which amalgamated with American soon) hub back at the time I flew from / to there. Great making!
I agree. I AM entertained and educated. What I don't realize (and maybe others as well) is probably the countless hours you and Suzanne spend on your research. Then, you pit it all together for us to enjoy. Thanks!
Hi Jeb! I'm the guy who wrote to you last last year about your DL hub-hopping video being a lot less suspenseful than the UA one. This video wasn't as suspenseful, but I don't think it was trying to be. The best way to describe it is to say that it felt like a marathon rather than a sprint. Anyway, this was a great video as always! As for my personal experience with AA's hubs, I've been to DFW, MIA, CLT, and PHL. Unpopular opinion, but my favorite is CLT. Yes, it's crowded and Concourses B/C are cramped, but it's a really nice airport to be in otherwise IMHO.
By far my favorite American hub is PHX Sky Harbor. Arizona is my home state, and I love the layout of the airport and the number of destinations American serves from there. Great video Jeb, this one had a lot of stops, so I'm glad you survived.
@@v22u Same here. He paid a lot of money for row 26. It probably took him 15 minutes to board the plane, and at least that long to get off the plane. Small seat and no leg room, either. He's lucky he didn't have to sit between to fat people and gate check his bag.
Love this series! Please do Alaska Airlines next(I know that it wouldn't be to hard but still fun!) Maybe Southwest, Spirit, Frontier is next. Keep up the good work Jeb!
You could do a hub hopping video for Alaska Airlines. All on the west coast, but some short flights and a couple of longer ones. Another idea that might be interesting from a planning perspective, and possibly seeing some more out of the way places is seeing if you could travel from coast to coast and not booking a flight on Boeing or Airbus planes.
crew chief had US Ariways i used to fly them when I was in Navy flew them home from Norfolk, VA ORF connected in Charlotte and then on Jackson MS JAN... loved the morning views of your flights and sun coming up. I always loved flying thru CLT love the rocking chairs and floor to ceiling windows also enjoyed DFW only 1 time i flew American
Absolutely love your hub hopping video series and please try WN "de-facto" hubs. One point of constructive criticism I really wish you would have included JFK as a red eye flight at the end.
Best part about your channel is you’re an AvGeek too. Most other channels don’t understand different fleet types, airport operations, or airline operations for that matter. They just see a plane with wings and expect them to all be the same.
Thank you for your great videos. I'm curious what you you think about AA CEO said no passengers want the tv screens since they have there own laptop, phones etc. So they took them out on domestic. Dl and UA are adding them. You should have a video about that.
I am a big fan of your hop hopping videos! I personally feel lucky living near Washington DC. Personally for me, I like Dulles more than Reagan, but Reagan is still a very easy airport, especially since they moved the Security check!
Instead of doing a hub-hopping video for Southwest, you could do "A day on a single southwest plane", where you stay on one plane and follow it for its entire day, showing how many stops it makes and where. That would probably make more sense for Southwest's business model!
Great hub hopping, with so many hubs I didn't even thought Jeb will need an overnight in DFW.. Anyway, this would be also cool in Canada with Air Canada, flying through (hub/large station) Montreal, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.
For a southwest video it would be hard because that have a major presence in California, but here’s what I came up with Baltimore-midway-Kansas city-love field-Denver-Phoenix-Burbank-Oakland -Long Beach-sacramento-san joes sounds impossible to me but I would love to be proven wrong. Also I would love to see an Alaska hub hopping video as well!
I have done this before. Having worked for American Airlines and retired from American I got created with all my trips. Did lots of Day Trips and been around the Globe 4 times. Thanks for Sharing.
The egg and the banana at the admirals lounge looked depressing. But I am on the fence with DCA and LGA as opposed to IAD and JFK as hubs but the video was so much fun!
As someone who flies out of Philadelphia airport frequently, this is the cleanest I’ve ever seen the airport look and I’ve left on an American airline flight at 5 in the morning.
Ultra hub hopping trip where you go to every hub for every airline in the country, and you have to fly the hubbed airline into the hub (e.g Delta into ATL, AA into DFW, etc).
I sat at that same exact table at DFW admirals a couple weeks ago. Deja Vu! PS -- US Airways logo. I miss Continental and AirTran personally. Breeze is my new favorite low cost, I hope they continue to do well.
You know, I’ve been there at least 10 times since they’ve renovated and haven’t been inside once. I’m the airport limo of the family. Terminal A (yeah, it’s still the Marine Air Terminal to me) has supposedly been restored to a lot of its former grandeur. Of everything at LGA, I’d like to see that the most.
Jeb- been watching this channel for about 7 years now. Started watching because my little brother enjoyed them, and now I just watch the uploads myself. Super relaxing for some reason! I fly for PSA Airlines these days (flying the PSA CRJ-700s and 900s) and I’m always hoping to see you hop onto my flight. Hasn’t happened yet, but seeing that 700 from PHL gave me a little hope😅 Maybe one of these days! Keep up the good work.
Southwest video idea, go to all the Pilots/FA bases. BWI, ATL, BNA(opening in Q2of24), MCO, MDW, HOU, DAL, DEN, PHX, LAS, LAX, OAK. Good luck with that. Great job on the video.
Idea for southwest hub hopping video: Go from airport to airport that is mainly only used by southwest and not the big 3. For example, Dallas Love and Houston Hobby. I’m sure there’s more. Thanks!
The show Wednesday said it all about drip coffee. Such disgusting coffee and so many flights in 1.5 days is torture. Bravo on beating the brain fog and doing it!
I definitely think that there should be another hub hopping video with Breeze! The airports would go as follows: Tampa to Providence Providence to Norfolk Norfolk to New Orleans New Orleans to Charleston Charleston to Hartford
The fact that Jeb is willing to do this for us lol!! With SWA, you’d probably have to find a way to hit: BWI, RDU, FLL, MCO, BNA, STL, KCI, MDW, HOU, DAL, PHX, LAX, and PDX in a trip, have fun with that one lol
Up until the one time I flew with United, I had only flown with American. Both airlines, I had a great experience with, and I even had a red eye flight with United on the way back from Chicago O'Hare.
I've only been on American Airlines twice however as the Embraer ERJ-175 to Greensboro and back to Fiorello LaGuardia Airport! I plan on talking my next ride to the Ben Elbert Douglas Senior International Airport! Thanks for the amazing video!
I work for your favorite airline (the one with the widget.) I hope to meet you one day. BTW non-reving is a tough game sometimes, the worst are when the flights are payload optimized. .
Hay I think it would be cool to see a video were you go from each 3 manger air lines in the USA most popular hub to there most popular international destination.
Quick caveat before I answer your query--have never been through DCA. Lots of Dulles, but never DCA. WE would like to because of the potential views. Of these hubs, we prefer PHL and PHX. IF possible we avoid LAX and have found all the others OK. I would echo what others have said about trying to do a SW one since they use "alternate" airports in many locales. And I know that Allegiant does not have hubs, but they do fly into some cool "secondary" airports. We much prefer SFB to MCO when we fly to Orlando for instance.
I think in terms of a SWA hub hopping would be Buffalo, NY-LaGuardia, BWI, Tampa, Dallas Love Field or Houston, Chicago Midway, Denver, Vegas, Phoenix, LAX
agreed that the new LGA is pretty amazing. I was there last year on Delta, and while it wasn't fully completed, what was completed was gorgeous and spacious!
15:53 Jeb lands in Miami: "this is the first time I've ever had to run through Miami" 16:05 Jeb literally moments later: "I can't tell you how many times I've had to run through Miami"
I must not have spoken very clearly! I meant to say this was one of the first times I have NOT had to run through MIA to make a connection! Thanks so much for watching!
