Live For Speed was the first serious racing simulator I played. That was 15 years ago. Let's see if I still have what it takes to be fast! Follow me on twitter: ItsMeARIE23
I still play LFS regularly 😊 Devs are still working on it and some pretty major updates are in the works like full day night cycles, big graphics improvements/overhaul, new track environments, improved physics etc 😎 Development is definitely slow af, but there’s also just 3 people working on it… 😅 The mods are a mixed bag though, some are really good with a lot of effort that went into them, but a lot are really shit and often “borrowed” models from other games or car models from 3D model sharing sites… Fun fact, Valtteri Bottas used to play LFS quite a bit back in the day :)
Still flirting with mods for a new video, lol. Very cool to see the game gets updated still. Oh and Bottas, I think he was in a team called spdo(?) back in the days. I don't recall racing him, but he was already in Formula Renault when playing LFS I believe. Always have supported him because of the LFS link.
Before I hit the play button, I already knew how this video would end 😄. LFS world records are really hard to break. You did a great job. Missed "only" 0.3sec.🤟
LFS is my main sim, still. You got closer to that WR than I thought you would. IDK what parameters I used to judge that, for myself. Your face, prob, since I had nothing else to go by. I'd say "more LFS" but you threaten to become a popular one, so please don't drag those iRacing voice chat philosophers into it.
Thank you! I know Isaac pretty well, we raced together on iRacing a couple of years ago. I knew it was gonna be a tough one, but I picked a combo that was enjoyable to drive foremost!
Fair point, I guess it just lives in my mind like that. To be honest, it still feels like it did ~15 years ago and development progress, well, hasn't been the fastest. I'm gonna check out the mods soon, though. That could be good fun!
Agreed. All the cars seem really well done. I was surprised by the FFB since my first go on a high-powered wheel. Lacking some detail for sure, but understeer and oversteer (maybe) even feel better compared to more modern titles.
