Also.. yes, paint CAN expire and go bad! I sell paint, and I've smelled this before. Sometimes it smells like sharpies, sometimes it can smell like sulfur, but paint smells AWFUL when it goes bad. Make sure you keep the containers fully sealed, and if it smells? Replace it.
My 9yo has been obsessed with lps since she about 2yrs old. And like all moms who love their children I get just as excited to watch these kids of videos as she does, to the point where I'm watching this while she's not even home haha. But when she gets home we'll watch it again like I've never seen it before!
Here’s a tip from someone who paints D&D minis; instead of struggling to hold the figure steady while paint is wet, or having to paint hands free, it’s a well known trick in the mini community to use glue dots or blue tack to temporarily attach the figure to the lid of something small that can easily be manipulated. Everyone I know uses just a plain empty prescription medication bottle! Forever changed the way I paint tiny things 🤩
Omg why didnt i think of this.. i would use sticky tack to hold it too the table and get frustrated when i couldnt move it around. def putting it on a lid😊
Love your chatting while you paint. I'm crocheting and just listening and it's very relaxing. It's nice to feel like I'm crafting with someone! I was only ever homeschooled, but as a college and graduate student, I have attended community college, a small state school, a large state school, and now an Ivy League school! All have been wonderful, if very different.
The long tube like things with the shells appear to be pencil sea urchin spines! There’s multiple different types of pencil sea urchin so I don’t know the exact one but you definitely have some real spines on your hands which is pretty cool!

Love the unique pattern on this custom. Honestly molds like the dolphins and sharks are pretty underrated. There was a yellow shark in one of the three-packs shown at toy fair that looks really cool so I'm excited to see more LPS like that in stores.
Your plein air watercolour painting is gorgeous ! If you're frustrated by the total transparency of watercolors, you could try gouache paint. You can also use both gouache and watercolors on one painting. Gouache is like a thicker more opaque watercolors and both paints work together quite well.
I’ve tried dried pallet gouache, in my experience it functions a lot like watercolor. I’d love to try tubed or jelly gouache to get the most out of the thickness of the paint!

I’m being homeschooled right now and I much prefer public school cuz like you said the isolation, I have almost zero social skills nd not many friends, it’s honestly really depressing and hard to open up about but my mama said I could go back to public school with an assistant teacher just to make things easier for me cuz I have really bad social anxiety and anxiety in general so yeah I hope soon I’ll be back in public school and maybe make Friends and stuff😎
I was in that exact situation! I ended up going to public school, and it is great. If your social anxiety gets bad, just remember, you can always just sit in the corner and draw or read or something and everyone will leave you alone. Never think you have to socialize if you don't want too. Also, there will always be atleast one other person whos happy to just chill on silence with you.
If you wanna get MUCH more surface area while you file down the LPS, try using a sanding sponge maybe! I feel like that could be a lot easier to get more area and nicks and crannies at once

This is my favorite custom I saw you make!!🤩 34:00 I agree with you, the first movie is just so perfect that anything pales in comparison; it's just so deep, beautiful, heartfelt and "realistic" in some way (the character flaws you mentioned make it more real).. there's hundreds of things you don't notice with a first watch nor if u don't pay attention... some scenes still give me chills even if I saw the movie thousands of times... it's perfection!! Still my favorite movie from since I first saw it a decade ago❤
Definitely agree! The latter films have a certain charm to them of course, but I especially loved how the “villain” arcs were set up in the first film- starting from a complex societal issue (Vikings vs dragons) and morphing into a familial (Hiccup and Stoick) conflict, then finally the big baddie at the end with the epic dragon fight. The sequels kept a more nuanced approach and had an obvious bad-guy-hates/hunts/kills-dragons approach which felt uninteresting and predictable as a main conflict choice. Also as mentioned, the personalities of the characters for the first film feel so flawed and human, they’re just FUN to observe. And I haven’t seen much discussion about this but I didn’t really like how they physically aged Hiccup and Astrid- they felt muted down and “conventionally” attractive in a way that didn’t really suit the setting.. ok I’m talking a LOT about this film sorry for the rant 😂

I totally agree with everyhing, even the age up part.. most people don't mind it because they became "hot", but, objectively, I liked their design more in the 1st movie as they are more unique, have lots of symbolisms and they are imperfect, like any human/teen.. did you evee notice Hiccup is a leftie? I noticed only when someone mentioned it.. that's a very cool detail as it makes him more different and gives to the image of the outcast (you probably know it was seen as a bad thing in the past) Even Toothless's model & character was a lot better, in the sequels he's just "dog" (especially in THW), while in the 1st movie he has a unique behaviour made of a mix of different animals, I wish they kept his cat side, everyone always goes for dog behaviours for animal sidekicks in every movie {sometimes even for sound design} and it doesn't always fit :-/
@@giulf3der957 hard agree with the toothless mention, the first film he felt like an assortment of animals but also carried with him a distinct sense of sassy humor, felt like an intelectual presence that of a human-- the later films i'd argue then stipped him of his personality traits and placed him in the category of "pet" - or "dog,", as you say. In the first film Hiccup and Toothless were presented as equals- Toothless especially felt like a wild animal that didn't always listen, and it ended in a way I felt it was setting the next film up for discovering the mysteries behind the illusive species of night fury--- and did i mention how Toothless just felt like an intimidating presence! Every scene he was in made an impact- especially when they fell from the sky panicking it felt so --real??! idk, most of the time you see these sorts of flight scenes in movies and you don't feel the danger of being so high up but this movie really nails it. I didn't like how Toothless, such a distinct presence in the first film, got demoted to "sidekick" for the later ones. Maybe not entirely in role but he didn't feel intellegent in the same way the first one showed. I thought it was such an obvious contrast- comparing Toothless to the rest of the dragon characters- they all felt like "animal" brains-- with instincts and expressionless eyes (just look at Storm Fly for example) -- whereas Toothless, again, FELT like a person. With his own soul, perceptions, humor, intelect. Really miss Toothless film 1. I'm glad someone else agrees with me about the aging up being unusual. It gets really tiring seeing characters modified to look "hot" for a safer approach to gain a wider audience appeal-- they restuctered Hiccup's entire facial BONE structure for goodness sake, I felt like I wasn't watching the same character. Looks aside, and i know this comment is already LOOOONG LOL, im almost done, but they also changed his personality sooooo much. I really didn't like their whole approach making him a sort of "naive peace keeper." (when he ran to drago on a literal battlefield like "staaaaaaawp, dragons are good" LOLLL) HTTYD1 Hiccup wasn't a violent person and did have peace keeper traits, but he was self aware of his world and surroundings (think of how he made a big statement in the dragon ring, dropping his weapons to try and show that dragons weren't evil) He just fell perfectly into a leadership role unspokenly, it was just brilliant writing, you could tell the people behind the film had a passion for it. I miss it good storylines in animation, it was such a special film and I hope the new generation of animators brings films of such quality again! someone take away my keyboard XD I love discussing films
@@HelloStudios Absolutely! One of the things I don't understand of the last movie is... WHY THE HECC IS EVERYONE BULLYING HICCUP?? In the first movie it made perfect sense and was part of the plot and themes, but in the last movie??? He's the Chief! His father died in the previous movie and saved Berk tons of times in the TV series... but everyone is mocking him and never take him seriously, not even Toothless looks at him anymore! He sarcificed everything for a better world of union and friendship between humans and dragons and in the end he just gave up? All his sacrifices were worthless. The Hidden World ending is not "bittersweet" as they say, it's depressing and demotivating as hell Also whats with characters saying "he doesn't embrace change" HE?? HE DOESN'T EMBRACE CHANGE? THE BOY WHO'S THE SYMBOL OF CHANGE ITSELF?? lol I have no idea what were they thinking on that last movie but I regret watching it so badly. The second movie isn't perfect but at least it's good! Instead I can find issues with that last movie almost in every frame in every aspect 🥴 It's weird to think my unbeated #1 favorite movie of all time and my least liked movie ever are part of the same franchise haha

I was gunna say! I would guess it was probably to show their acknowledgement of the customizing community, almost a proof of concept that they see what the community likes and can incorporate ideas from the community through the community itself! At least that's what I'd hope.
From my understanding it seems Basic Fun has chosen specifically Roblox oriented RU-vidrs for their “influencer” campaign to help promote their LPS-themed Roblox launch they’re doing in December, however i would love to see some actual LPS content creators to get this opportunity as well, though I’m not sure I’d be the best candidate since my channel is very narrowed on LPS customs rather than collecting the figures. Time will tell I suppose, I’m interested to see how this will play out!
Honest to god, I really dig SOME of the gen 3 LPS molds and I feel like the oversized lashes could have worked as well had they made the eyes not look so disturbing and off-putting, unfortunately they also did a poor job on the designs and paintjob, no wonder barely anyone liked them x/ As for the custom itself, i love how you draw/color the eyes, they just look so so friendly and cute as well as the designs add so much character!!

I'm living with my mom, saving money too and it was nice feeling like I could connect to you lol and feel like I'm doing okay and I'm not falling behind the rest. Love this custom! If they use your image they should still pay you for your work tho?? It's really strange that they didnt notify/ask you. It might be because of the ambassador thing but it's still weird
hmm regarding school, i think home-schooling is better for learning aspect, but it does heavily affect social life. when i was in public/private school, i found it was more important to focus on the social aspect, so my learning was lacking. teachers also can't focus on a specific person to help them, so it is more difficult to learn in that way as well.
having seen all the httyd films, first was golden second saw a notable level of side character assassination and third smacked everyone with the idiot ball light fury has no official defined native biome or design thought other then "pretty lady dragon", and the core message of the first and second film plus tv series of "bonds make you stronger" is chucked out a 5th floor window into a vat of acid

I would love to see an over the garden wall custon video!!! But I'd also just be happy to get to see the final customs, those bases are so cute and perfect! And you should check out leafy sea dragons, they're my favorite sea creatures after like whales and narwhal and stuff they're so beautiful

I love the httyd franchise! If you don't know about it already they also have a series of it that kinda lets their personalities shine a little bit more compared to the films, they're very good I recommend. The dolphin turned out so cute the colours are awesome (I would buy it tbh)!

If you decide to do another shark or dolphin I’d recommend trying out the colour scheme or like the pattern of a Maui’s dolphin. They’re monochrome so it should be fun
Remember, artists- Symmetry is overrated, me thinks- look at the scars all over the sphinx! even the planet spins at a tilt- nothing worth loving isn't askew

You should try starting with a base of MISTER SUPER CLEAR matte. Also id love to see you use colored pencils to build up more intricate designs. You can use any matte spray sealant between layers, but MSC is great for it.
