@@chaoticclonestudios a battle droid is almost worth a dollar so if he got 5000 battle droids and he wanted to sell them he could basically get all of his money back
Just because the Republic Bricks Twilight is "valued at $270 retail," doesn't actually mean its market value is anywhere near that asking price. I'm not surprised that it only sold for $99 - that's what happens when you go to sell originally grossly-overpriced products on a second hand site!
@@user-op8fg3ny3j they need pieces off bricklink and the piece prices , shippig and things sellers say like minimum purchase $__ they also need to profit
The beginning bit about just buying the figure you want can be extended to the recent drama of CMF series. If you want a figure, now that we cant feel for them with the boxes (it is meant to be a mystery item after all), go buy that figure! Dont waste your time with LEGOs boxes if you dont like em, let someone else do it and hit up bricklink for the one you want
I've bought 1 mystery item on Whatnot and spent $157 (floor was $150, average was $220, and ceiling was $650). I got the first item and it ended up being the $650 item!
@MandProductions this is my favorite kind of video.I’m trying to build my clone army so these videos really help revealing value and cost of certain figures, thanks!
I purposefully didn't advertise the stream anywhere, run giveaways, or tell people what I was doing to get the best results possible. No matter what you'll have different results from different people on any given day tho!
@@MandRproductions Yeah, but his point kinda stands because the second anyone sees that it's you doing the auction, they're immediately more likely to place bets they otherwise wouldn't have. Your point is taken that you purposefully avoided advertising/calling attention to the auction, but if you had, that probably just would've guaranteed a 2x profit on your purchases here.
Love the banners! Definitely not willing to but any of these "mystery boxes" especially when I hate customs with a passion and would probably dish out some unessacary crap if all I got was figs someone molded in their basement, but I will go ask some sellers if they'd sell me a banner.
I'd love to see another one where you actually get to keep what you want. You could add some rules to keep it interesting, but I'm sad to see you have to give these up lol
I think it kinda goes to show how overpriced custom sets are. I get that republic bricks needs to make a profit but his sets are a bit overpriced in my opinion
As much as the prices suck, they are kind of justififed. Buying pieces on bricklink is super expensive especially when you consider shipping prices. On top of that, a lot of time goes into manually sorting the parts and stuff. For them to be profitable they can't be anywhere close to normal Lego prices.
I am St3pL1ghtly. Can confirm, great deal on the prototype figures and I stand by what I said in the stream. It was a decent gamble overall, since MandR managed to almost make all of his money back (disregarding taxes and fees) while holding onto the banner. A higher price on the Twilight would have simply made it actually profitable rather than even. Well played and thanks for the figures!
Like the frequent uploading! I predict you found out about the new algorithm. Posting more frequently helps! Even though your posting more often, the quality of your vids is not diminishing. Keep it up!
The headphone audio is still only playing in the left headphone, and it only seems to happen on your videos, specifically when you use the vlog or pack opening camera… might want to check that out! Anyways, great video! Really enjoyed it!
i would have kept bidding on the Twlight but i already have the "real" set from Lego and that version just looked like it substituted tiles for plates in a lot of areas.
I saw this listing on eBay this morning I think I’m going to buy one box for £400. The description says it’s always even or a win and the best thing u can get is a ucs star destroyer
A little while ago I bought a sand trooper w/ orange pauldron that came in the mos eisley cantina. And while I assumed it would come 100% complete, it did not. A few things were wrong, like the face was just a clone face from the mid-late 2010’s, even tho it’s supposed to be a different face. The back pack also came different, some pieces that were supposed to be there were, most weren’t, and there were some that even weren’t supposed to be there. I tried replacing the pieces from my collection but some I didn’t have.
Please understand- you will not get the same things he gets from RepublicBricks, Timmy is very good at making sure 'important' addresses get way better mystery shit than everybody else.
Honeslty the rule should be : "if I want to keep it then... I keep it". Because some of those items were AMAZING and I'm telling you, famous youtuber or not, that's what I would have done WITHOUT A-N-Y REGRET.
I love this idea Ryan. I would love if this became a series. Keep up these awesome Whatnot videos!!! Try doing a mystery box with lego Star Wars sets instead of mini figures.
