The poltchageist card is equally as adorable as it is horrifying from the pokedex lore LOL, I died of laughter as I was awing at the cuteness then became instantly mortified when you explained the pokedex entry. R.I.P. Ness XD
Yoo sick pull!!!🎉 Just wanted to tell you that I opened my 1st booster box the other day and pulled the Greninja EX SIR 🎉🎉🎉 ended up with 14 hits in total 1 ACESPEC 3 full arts 1 SIR 3 IRs and 6 Ex's
I agree with you about your criticisms of Pokemon, in general. They're missing the mark big time lately. The main series games have been boring ever since they hit the Switch (with the exception of Legends Arceus) and the latest gen in the TCG is reflecting poorly because of it. No one wanted them to take away the yellow card borders. It was iconic and what separated the English from the Japanese sets too. The latest Pokemon designs are crap. I'm sorry to those that disagree but they're uninspired... A bunch of mice? Really? A Dunsparce with another segment? Really? They also permanently ruined the Pokedex with Paradox Pokemon. It's like "Bro, you could have called Iron Thorns future Tyranitar and not make another Pokedex entry". They didn't make another Pokedex entry with megas or Primal Groudon/Kyogre. Yeah, I have spent probably 30K on the low end buying Pokemon products for the last decade or so. I have the right to be angry with the direction they're going in. That being said, if they want to pull people in for real, market the nostalgia angle. Bring on the Team Rocket set. Hell, remake every WOTC set because people actually loved those cards, and more importantly, love those original Pokemon designs. Sorry bro, this was kind of long but I wanted to end on this: I sent in a damaged Brilliant Stars prerelease Bibarel promo back to the Pokemon Company (after e-mail back and forth with them for a week or so, which was obnoxious) about 18 months ago. They have yet to fix the issue for me. I have not heard from them at all. In fact, over the last 3 or 4 years they have been doing this to everyone. Terrible customer service! That's all, dude. Never send your cards to them for replacement. That IR Phione card you pulled was sweet, I gotta admit.
Constructive criticism is never a bad thing IMO. Especially when you spend a bunch of money on an IP like Pokemon. I will disagree with you about S&V (just cause I really liked those games 😅) but I can see where you are coming from. Bro a lot of people feel the way you do about those games. I personally don't need new pokemon every gen at the cost of design like you stated as long as the gameplay and story is good (which s&v was kinda lacking) but I know some people only come back every gen for the new mons. Either way you can't please everyone all the time but they should still try lol
I hope legends will be good as well, I saw a lot of negative reviews on arceus and decided to skip it. Last time I really enjoyed pokemon was probably Black/White, they love to just rehash the same idea.
I feel the same way about this set. I thought it looked pretty solid overall, even just as a collector. As I opened it tho, I started to really like it. Still waiting on my order of 45 packs. Been a week already, hopefully the USPS hurries it up, haha. Congrats to the winners! You guys are gonna love those mystery packs!!! Edit: Man, you talked about a lot of stuff that really resonated with me about current pull rates and the prices some of these modern singles command. Pokémon once said that to them, all cards are worth 1¢ (it was basically to avoid being sued for promoting "gambling" to kids). They definitely do know that the secondary market does exist and that people who purely collect are a huge chunk of their customer base. That said, they definitely do make certain cards stupid hard to pull to artificially create a sense of scarcity. In the grand scheme of things tho, nothing modern is rare or scarce. Enjoy the cards, enjoy the chase, but don't expect to retire on your singles collection. Dude! You pulled my chase card!!! Sick SIR! My favorite new mon by far! That was a solid box, bro! To pull both an SIR and gold from one BB is not common with this set, man. Congrats!!!
I didn't know they said that but makes sense. The more I rip and watch others the more I kind of agree with you. These sets might be fun in the future, but I don't think they'll be vintage prices maybe ever. To much printed, to much ripped, too many sent, and not enough interest to get the prices in the area
@@Jzab_slobThe amount of sealed modern getting tucked away in comparison to people hoarding WOTC era or maybe e series/OG EX series has to be night and day. Only time will tell I suppose. It will be interesting to see how it all unfolds. I think something that people don't realize is collectors are getting smarter. Slabs were selling like hotcakes in the past but now 9s sell for the same or potentially less than a raw with solid eye appeal and condition. I think one of the next steps in the evolution of the collector is realizing that paying absurd prices for certain sealed product just to rip makes no sense when you can buy all the singles from a set for a fraction of the cost. Looking at you, Evolutions. If collectors finally get smarter with their spending and stop bending over to the secondary market, I wonder what's to become of a lot of the stashed away currently modern sealed.
@nevercold808 I agree with you on that. As the person you are talking about, I buy to rip but spending $200 on LO or BS for a booster box is pricing myself out of those sets. I mean, I love them and all but can't see myself ever buying higher than MSRP to rip them. ES and CZ I could, but not many modern sets have that appeal.
Artwise Paradox Rift ties with Paldea evolved, and its pullrates have yet to hit the shitter, despite only being like 2/3rds as good as Paldea (Strictly SIR/Alt-wise). I love when they try new things like Megas/Ultra Beasts/Paradox. I do think Temporal and Twilight aren’t gonna age that well, though I do acknowledge Twilight’s impact for players. The worst thing I think they can do is coast on gen 1 “nostalgia” alone. Spicy take of my own: If Genwunners and Money-bros were a ven diagram it would look like a 3d movie without the glasses, not a complete overlap still a lot I would DIE for a Palworld TCG
What a fun opening. I have yet to open a single REAL pack of Twilight Masquerade.. but I definitely like the Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon in my decks in TGC live to disable damage dealt by attackers with abilities
What modern set could you not buy a master set for a grand. If you have money to spend on card like that you by singles and complete you set but if you are not that fortunate, you buy packs and hope. Packs are a for of gambling no matter how many you open there is no guarantee you could complete even 90% of a set. Math wins
I FULLY REGRET choosing to master set this. If I could go back I would have never started this set period. The pull rates are complete booty juice. Good Luck on your pulls tho!!
