Can I recreate this REAL house in The Sims 4?

I would love for her to build a European house, like an English/Dutch house with brick instead of wood and without an open floor plan, oh and no or very little archways and only 1 bathroom, maybe an extra toilet though!! It would be so much different than what she usually makes

Can you try a build challenge where you cant use any item from the base game? It wont be a hard challenge with as many packs as we have but it would be interesting because they don't all mesh well together

I like making detached garages in my builds and use them as my flex space for random skill items, but they can be tricky to incorporate, especially if they are attached cause of foundations

I turn garages into skill rooms, it’s great…

This is how I build my homes. I find floor plans. I have made full master bedrooms with Kim K style closets just for fun. They never use it, but it looks fun.

I always struggle with the interior decor but really enjoy building shells. I tend to lose inspiration once I get to the inside. or I'll do a really detailed first two rooms, usually an entry or powder room and kitchen, and get bored with it lol

i challange you to furnish this house yourslef for a video but with some rules: 1 it has to include a banana themed room for a toddler, a space themed room for girls teen twin, a GREEN masterbedroom. the ensuite has to be purple and blue and all the other bathrooms have to be pink. you can only use the packs: snowyescape, tiny living, island living, cottage living, interior disigner, parenthood and cityliving. good luck. I HOPE YOU TRY THIS CHALLENGE I KNOW YOU NORMALLY ONLY DO TWICH DARES BUT IN MY TIME ZONE I CANT AWLAYS JOIN!

I turn garages into wood working shops, or a flower arranging room, or pet room, or trophy room! There's lots of cool stuff you can use the huge space for, like maybe the cupcake machine, rather than just leaving an empty space. :)

thank you for this! i look for good, empty, inexpensive shells often for my legacies when i get frustated with my own building skills lol, so i think it would be really cool if you did more of these! especially starter home shells on like 30x20 and 20x15 lots

seeing this build with the big tree in the backyard made me realize how much i want a tree with a functional swing in the sims

You can fix the weird stair obstruction problem by reloading the lot. I think it's caused by platforms/room levels, you might have accidently messed with that and quickly undone it but it really messes up build mode until you reload for some reason.

I love furnishing houses and adding dumb little details (like my sim who lives in San Myshuno keeps a baseball bat by the door) but if I’m not following a plan I kinda end up building just a square box with a single roof, so thank you for this.

I really liked this house and it's nice to see unfurnished, sometimes the harder part it's the structure and landscaping so having ready it's great

Anytime that someone does like a house tour, or apartment tour, it instantly makes me want to create houses in Sims XD I usually search like realtor sites in my area and get inspiration from that :D And I feel you on the cat lol. My cat is like NOPE, YOU'RE PAYING ATTENTION TO ME NOW. And will sit on my lap and demand snuggles. Which is fun because he's a Norwegian Forest cat and he's 20lbs of fluffy and muscle lol.

So I do a lot of building from Floorplans and here's 2 things that I find useful. 1 sims tile = 2 rl ft, so if you round up to an even number you should be ok. And secondly, the garage makes a really good activity room. If you build it you can put a lot of the weird activities you might not otherwise use bc they're large. So like the piano, the mix station, the videography thing, the recycling stuff, etc.

I just recently built a house (for the first time!) for a couple sims I'm playing with currently, and I kept having that problem with the stairs as well. It was *infuriating* to figure out, especially since I don't normally build in the first place.

Huh, I just realized how I tend to do the same thing. Find random house plans online and try to recreate it in the Sims and get frustrated when something doesn’t work/ translate into the sims well. But it still fun to try. HOWEVER, idk why it never occurred to me to try the reverse and take a Sim house and create a 3D model and floor plan. Like in some ways I imagine it to be easier as I wouldn’t be restricted in the same ways that it would be like in the Sims, but at the same time, do Sim’s houses translate well into the real world to scale? I’m sure people have made models of Sim builds before, but I also have the skills and knowledge (tho rusty) to at least attempt this and it would be a good way for me to maintain my 3D modeling skills. It be interesting to see what an accurate representation of a Sim build would be and then after try taking creative liberties to make it fit into the real world aesthetic better. I’m assuming that directly recreating a Sim build into a program like Revit would look odd at first until you rescale things to match how they would look in the real world. Something I should try. I do want to learn SketchUp sometime soon.
