I started with just about 20. Now I'm counting more than 200. If the condition of your pen is very good with adequate humidity, they can lay all year round. Mine took about two month to get used to their new home and that's it, they started laying.

Thanks for taking time to comment. You can prevent ants by creating a barrier around your farm. You can do so by constructing a drain and filling it with water. If it's a small pen like mine ,you can coats the legs of the pen with lubricants which repels ants. Hope this is helpful.
