Looks like I found myself a new channel that shows a lot of promise. We really need more storyteller youtubers on here. In general, not just rimworld. I really like how you tried to stay in the mindset of a tribal here.
Thanks, I really appreciate it! I have a lot of stories to tell, not just through Rimworld, but using other games like Project Zomboid too. Once I'm able to afford a PC I can branch out even further!
@@loreharbor Heh, sorta in the same boat myself. Watching this on a rather beefy laptop but nowhere near as powerfull as a decent gaming pc. I can afford it tho, but I lack the skills to actually pull it off atm and I don't know anyone close that could help me with it, so I'll have to do it myself with the help of some kind discord friends. Oh and btw if you plan on building on your own pc, I'd recommend using pcpartpicker to put something together hardware wise for you. You don't need to buy the parts for them perse but it makes a good list of what you have and what you're lacking.
Thanks for the site recommendation. I'll certainly use that when it's time. I would like to build my own, but I honestly lack the confidence to pull it off haha. I heard that building one is the best route to go. If I start making a little money from RU-vid, I'll put it towards parts so I can finally stop using the Macbook Air. It hates me when I play games!
Thank you, that compliment means the world to me! I loved writing since I was a kid, and using this medium to help me express that is amazing. I can't wait to share many more awesome stories.
I watched this thinking you where a semi popular youtuber, I was not expecting such good quality and story telling from such a small channel. This was a great video!
When Id usually watch these 100 days in rimworld Id feel like there was a lack of storytelling. But this video - man - amazing work, you're gonna get big
You deserve FAR more views, my friend. This was a compelling and very well told story. And your editing was great too! You earned yourself a new subscriber. Looking forward for more!
You definitely have a lot of potential. I think you got most things down correct just a few things that will just improve over time. You gonna grow and I can now say I was here for the start, u got a new sub here
One of the few people who can make Rimworld interesting to watch. Nice story telling. One thing though. It's a little thing, but... You're killing me. 😛flotsam /flŏt′səm/ Soft 'o' sound. As in "lot", not float.
Oh dang! You're right, I completely missed that 😆. Here I was worrying about properly saying chinampa, and butchering flotsam the whole time. Also thank you! Your support is greatly appreciated!
Top tier video! I love your dialog, It's chill, and fairly interesting to just sit and listen to. I've love to see more videos from you. And like many other commenters would say, "This channel is criminally underrated"
What a compelling way of telling a story! And, as a professional singer and speaker I really want to compliment the way you wove and narrated the story, great job! It's a surprisingly difficult thing to do and you did it really well!
@@loreharbor I'm sure they will be great in their own way. They might not share the same tone or "gravitas" or they might be shorter or longer, less or more complex, etc. etc... but I think that all kinds of stories need to be told! So I'm looking forward to seeing more of yours :) Oh and I've also watched your other rimworld story right after, also a really nice video, I loved it!
I really appreciate that, thank you for the encouragement! You're right, every story will be unique in it's own way, and I have many more to share. The one I'm working on now is going to be a lot of fun for everyone! Also, thanks for checking out the other vid! Void was getting lonely over there for a while, but now everyone gets to see how cool he is too lol
I really did not expected this, at just only a minute of video i already knew that it was going to be a unique journey, good job! perfectly tuned narrative. Very excited to see more futures videos!
love this video!! well narrated and humorous. i like how youve fit random generated events into details that fit the narrative would you ever consider doing more episodic content, maybe for playthroughs with longer stories? i feel like theres an untapped golden zone between one-off rimworld content and longer episodical content. i think your narrative style could make it more fun to watch many episodes, compared to just dry cut gameplay thank you for creating and posting this ❤
That means a lot to me, thank you! It took a while to figure out how to blend most stuff together haha. Also, yeah, absolutely. I'm going to experiment with different styles and video lengths. The next video that's coming out this week is going to be a part of mini-series. I feel like there's a really good story and challenge blended together for it, so hopefully you guys like it!
I like how he did a 3rd person pov of this like he left notes or journals of what he was doing. Or he was going insane slowly creating another identity
Loving your storytelling so far, actually made me teary eyed at the bit with the spirits. Can't wait to see you get more subs, definitely subbed myself!
Thank you, I'm honored that it made you teary eyed!!! Honestly, even when I was making that part, specifically Ray swimming with the spirits of his ancestors, I got a little emotional. It was a fun journey. Also, thank you for the support!
Awesome video, you definitely deserve way more attention for the work and love you put into your videos. ^^ I am already hyped to see more content from you!
Absolutely loved this video, your commitment to narrative and storytelling makes this several times more entertaining than other Rimworld challenges! The only issue I have is that the audio is slightly panned to the left...
Thank you for the support! I agree, I love this game for all the awesome stories you can tell with it. In what other game would you see a group of ocean traders get attacked by manhunting flamingos?!? 😆
@@bunnyboy9277 So I just went back through the original footage. The name of the mod is Biomes! Core. That's where the pontoon bridges come from. Hope that helps!
Totally gotta try this now. Thank you for adding the info about setting it up! ❤ Not to mention the story was great! Can't wait to see what you have planned for future stories!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! Absolutely. It was a little confusing to setup at first, mainly because the animals wouldn't spawn in, but it wasn't too bad. Be sure to let me know how your adventure went!
You flatter me! If I hit 1 million one day, I will be praising your name to masses. All will know that you were the soothsayer who predicted such an outcome!
had to come back t this casue im going right to the undergrounds video after this. just found your channel love your stuff!!!! and your voice is so soothing and captivating
Hey, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm sometimes overly critical of my own voice, but I think we're all like that at times, haha. That's awesome, thank you for checking out the other vid too! Void gets lonely over there by himself, so I'm sure he'll enjoy the company 🤣
Absolutely, you should! They're a lot of fun. I'm working on a few other ones right now. I'm even thinking of making a tougher raft challenge with no wildlife, wreckage, or supplies. Just an old man and the sea.
Heh, I remember doing something like this (but more inspired by A Girl Adrift) a while ago. The screenshots exploded in the rimworld subreddit. Glad someone else understands how fun this is :)
I'm glad that you did something like this too. You're right, it's a lot of fun! I've never played that game, but I'm looking at screenshots of it now. It seems pretty cool.
Thank you for such generous praise. Truly, it means the world to me! I've loved writing since I was a kid, and these videos give me an awesome way to do that.
How does this guy have less than 550 Subs? I think your production value and storytelling skill is Top Tier level, you earned one more sub, I hope you get enough notice to be on the more visible feeds, your content quality is worthy my friend.
This means the world to me. Thank you, truly! I have many, many videos planned, and I can't wait to do this full time so I can deliver them even faster! Hopefully one day I won't have to edit in iMovie 😂
Great story! I bet it was inspired in the game Raft. Surely it is near to impossible to make items of the map drift with ocean currents like it happens in Raft.
i think my one complaint is the changing perspective between player and character is a bit jarring, but otherwise im a BIG fan of this channel so far!! loving the storytelling c:
Why do you only have 1k subs This is a crime against humanity man, SHOW THIS VIDEO TO ALL THE RIMWORLDS URBWORLDS AND GLITTERWORLDS YOU CAN, THIS MAN MUST RISE!
it's a shame Shary died. Was kind of hoping Lowtide would rescue her and they could rebuild the seahorse tribe together. Surprised he took down the two people who landed near him. would have thought company would have been a larger driving force then that.
I agree, I was sad to see her go 😞. As for the others, I figured that since they were suffering from paralytic abasia Lowtide wouldn't know how to care for them with his horrible medical skill. I probably should've expanded on that more.
Heres a challenge of cognative story telling: Fallout themed mods (theres a lot) 10 Brotherhood colonists (Think 1 Paladin, 4 knights, 5 initiates, all varying skill types, a few double-up) Mission: Constructing a new Vault Sactuary in a Crater (Geological formations mod)
That's a great one! I've been trying to figure out a Fallout themed challenge. I'm adding that to my list of Rimworld video ideas 😁. Whenever that video happens, I'm going to throw you a shoutout!!!
Geological landforms has ingame editor that allows to generate all kinds of maps. Then you can start a new game and see the result by finding a tile with specific type, with reroll map and map preview you can also go to GL mod settings while ingame and edit the generator setting then generate new map on same world tile until you get the map you want.
You should. It was a lot of fun! That's awesome. I wish I could experience Rimworld for the first time again! Get ready to lose a lot of hours in the game haha
