I hike to a remote beach where I camp overnight to see if I could survive on a coastal sand flat. I find clams, prawns, sole (flounder), crabs and snails. I cook up a delicious clam chowder on a fire with cream, milk, potato, onion and garlic. Solo camping and cooking was never so yummy.

Andy, I'm from north QLD and i use to fish a lot with my pa as a kid, i'm now 18 and your videos which i have been fairly religiously watching for the past 3 years single-handedly inspired me to get into this kind of thing. I taught myself how to fish with lures i have gotten into bushwalking and exploring for remote places. That being said i'm not very good at it, but i have had some fun giving it a go. I just wanted to say i really appreciate your videos and i think you are a vastly underappreciated channel here on RU-vid, i sincerely wish you all the happiness in the world. Am sorry i cant travel from norway to Australia that is from top of the world to the bottom ahahahah. I love the vids and see the types of fish you catch. We only have trout and salmon pike and perch in the water system but in the sea we have alot of alantic cod and big halibuti mean big flounder that can Get to 300 kilos. Have bean watching for some time maybye 2 years on diffrent accounts but just recently started commenting Sorry for bad english grammer

Probably my favourite type of vid, foraging on coastal water flats. so much variety of foods to eat. Perhaps next time take your smoker and do smoked clam chowder. Drop in a little brine shrimp paste or Bagoong from the Philipines to intensify the flavours.

Hey mate, the snail you didn't know the name of was a Nassarius Snail. They are a detritus eater as well as eating dead fish etc. Popular in aquariums for turning over the sand

That snail is called a narite snail not a olive snail. They live submerged in the sand and usually only come out at night to have a quick feed and then they're back under the sand. I buy them out here in the states for my coral reef tank they're good at cleaning up uneaten fish/coral food and fish waste. Keep the great vids up. Cheers.
