The Mirage is in full production in DX and Star plastic, and I have 1 of each. I've used it a bit, and have reviewed the DX version on my channel. It's definitely a utility disc, but I think it's more limited to short throws, or as a "get out of jail" disc to help with some lines that require an understable disc. Definitely not idea for putting, but useful for throwing short distances on select upshots or approaches towards the basket.
When I was first started, my buddy and I couldn't figure how to turn over ... Tagged along with friendly strangers where one flipped with ease carving through woods. It was a Mirage. It's very valuable for early beginners (I'd recommend Sol nowadays though). It's still a reliable left to right turn in the woods when I need to get there. Def don't putt with it bc too thin. Looking forward to the Ohm!
I was unsure of this disc at first but I've kept it in a side pocket of my bag and pull it out every now and then for some short turnover shots in the woods. It also is great for low power tunnel shots. It really impressed me more than I expected.
They are trail runners. Altra Lone Peaks. Unfortunately they did not hold up for me with disc golf. I went through 2 pairs in a year. But they are soooo comfortable with a huge toe box. I'm now using high top Moab Speeds which have been pretty good so far.
