True. Tainan is definitely the place to learn about the origin of the food and culture on this island. The biggest downside for tourists is probably the transportation.

Singaporeans go to Taiwan to see and experience the 70s feel of Singapore because Taiwan does look like that. Those from China even said Taiwan look worst than those 4th and 5th tier cities in China. Food is also overrated.

As a Singaporean I never got the hype of Taiwan, been there a few times and found it boring compared to many other countries. Just my opinion though, hope no offence.

Japanese supercentenarians lived longer because of the lighter tastes in their diet. Many Singaporeans want to live longer by eating foods of a lighter taste, like the Japanese supercentenarians. Malaysian foods taste better because Malaysian foods are heavier and stronger in tastes. Once a person addicted to foods that are heavier and stronger in tastes, just like drugs and more drugs, all the way more, more and more, no turning back. Therefore, Malaysians and Singaporeans who lived in Malaysia will find the Malaysian foods are more delicious than the Singaporean foods, more salt and more sugar. A hawker in Johor Bahru was found to have cut plastic bottles into pieces and added the pieces of plastics into the hot oil to fry the meat to taste umami. This is just one of the discoveries by a Malaysian Newspaper reporter.
