She was awarded as "Disney Legend" on that event alongside the other Princesses "belle, Ariel and Tatiana".. and she said in an interview recently that one of the perks of being a Disney Legend aside from the heavy trophy and her fingerprint with signature displayed in Disney is that she can go to Disneyland everywhere for FREE and she doesn't need to fall in line in any rides.

Yes, Lea was named a Disney Legend in 2011 (along with several other Disney princess voices). Side note: I thought it was strange that Lea (singing voice of Jasmine and Mulan) and Linda Larkin (speaking voice of Jasmine) were among the five Disney princesses awarded the Disney Legend Award in 2011, but Ming-Na Wen (speaking voice of Mulan) was not included. Ming-Na eventually got the Disney Legend Award in 2019 and I believe that the announcement that Ming-Na would be part of the Star Wars TV series "The Mandalorian" happened during the Disney Legends ceremony. That was especially exciting because Ming-Na has been saying for years that she has wanted to be part of Star Wars and it's been a childhood dream of hers.

In Lea's recent Dream Again concert tour in the US and Uk she sang her audition piece for Mulan titled Written in Stone written by Stephen Schwartz. Hope you could react to that, it;s beautfiul and you could still hear her Princessy voice. You can find it here on yt. Lea said that's the song that was sent to her to sing.

I always enjoy your Lea Salonga reactions and this was no exception. I realize that many people like singers that do more "vocal gymnastics" - the ones that can belt really high and riff a lot. I have nothing against those types of singers. Some of them are truly amazing. Aside from sounding beautiful, I have always loved how truthful Lea's singing sounds. I think some people are more impressed by "flashier" singers but don't really understand that it also takes talent and skill in order to perform the way Lea does. Your appreciation of Lea's talent makes me so happy!

Never realized until this video that it makes more sense to seeing the word “inside” inside, by keeping the volume down and dialing it in. You’re keeping it inside. I think that the other singers like Christina Aguilera or Katrina Velarde who belt out that word, I focused on the idea that you want to let out what’s inside. “When will my reflection show who I am inside”. Which also makes sense.

This is a lovely review. I am such a Lea fan, she’s the reason why I so love musical theatre. I had the time of my life seeing her in the Palladium last 2019. I do hope she gets so see your videos, these are just wonderful homages to her brilliance. Thank you guys!!! Esp. So, I have lived through the Disney reinvention of the mid 80's early 90's. What an amazing reinvention from The Black Cauldron, The Great Mouse Detective (although one of my faves) Oliver and Company. But I grew up in the 60's with 101 Dalmations, Sword in the Stone, Mary Poppins and the re-releases of Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty (my all time FAVE), Alice In Wonderland, Lady and the Tramp. Imagine my utter JOY when Little Mermaid was released!?!? At any rate, here is an amazing performance with Angela Lansbury at D23, I think for the 25th anniversary of Beauty and the Beast. I like revisiting your Lea reactions. They are so enjoyable! You mention wanting to react to Lea as Jasmine at some point. It would be WONDERFUL if you could do a double-reaction in one video since they're both so short: react to the original recording of "A Whole New World" (I mean the video of them recording the song) and then the video of Brad Kane and Lea singing together 23 years later.

There’s a crystal-clear purity in Lea’s tone that sets her apart. On this particular song, it’s how she coursed her notes that painted the turmoil deep inside the character. This innate quality is why her original renditions are still very much embossed in our hearts despite the passage of time. 💖🌹
