Maliketh was Marika's shadow, and there was no demi god who did not fear him... WOW Maliketh absolutely wrecking Malenia and straight-up avoiding her scarlet bloom was a thing of beauty.
Yeah agreed. Even marika herself would’ve been kept in check by maliketh. The thing is the elden beast is the manifestation of the greater will and I think should’ve had the power to take down maliketh lorewise right? That said idk if this manifestation of the greater will was missing the power of the rune of death in which case maliketh would really be second to none.
@@jayeff4337 The thing is that the Greater Will created Maliketh as Marika's shadow. He is bound to obey the Greater Will. Even if he has the power of the Rune of Death (and thus, being the only being capable of killing the Elden Beast before the Tarnished unleashes it on the Lands Between), he can't go againts it. I agree in that he is technically stronger than the Elden Beast
I think a big difference maker here is, even though Maliketh isn't in his arena, he still has access to "pillars", which are a huge part of his mobility.
Honestly, this was the ideal stage for him. Lot of open space to dodge and like you said, access to his "pillars." Maliketh is probably my favorite boss. Aesthetic wise, movements, attacks, etc.
@@castor9907 That is the core of his ridiculous damage output, yeah, but when put into other arenas, his general squishiness compared to other bosses of his level means sometimes he doesn't get to really leverage that before eating shit. Hence my emphasis on how important his pillar jumps are; he often doesn't have access to them outside of his arena, and they're a huge part of his mobility.
Malenia did something similar to Mohg in her 20 boss run. A lot of people were losing their minds. If Mohg pulls off his Nihil move then it's game over and the run ends. He must be killed or interrupted before he does his Nihil move.
@@TheStraightestWhitest true, the only ones who would last a little while against him is radagon/elden beast, probably the outer gods chosen too. Still they will have to handle the fact Maliketh isn't holding some force of nature in his hands, it's literal Death, and getting shanked with that will kill even gods
Malekith is the boss with the highest damage and movility in the game, but he is very fragile to balance it, malenia is so hard because she is basically malekith without this limitation and 2 phases.
@martincucco2796 What balances Melania out is that she has the weakest poise out of all the bosses besides rennala. If you're rocking giant hunt AOW or lions claw, it's an easy clap.
Soldier of God, Rick, was only using 0,00000000001% of his power, and this was only one of his quintillion avatars who are by default already only 0,000000001% as strong as the Soldier of God himself. So he was using 0,000000001% of 0,00000000001% of his power here.
the malenia fight was the best/worst rng i’ve ever seen. she held on by a thread with waterfowl and he completely avoided her scarlet rot by nuking her at a distance, woah
Its also the fact she started at 50% hp instead of the usual 80% and he did the most op move he had against her as she was still stuck in the flower she missed. This was the absolute best Rng he could ever have against her
@@s8theninjawarrior916 which should have been the case and it is until he got nerfed he always avoid her by doing this until he got nerfed to the ground he is just lucky here other wise this is just a buffed nerfed Maliketh
Rick throwing the fight just because he knows doggo is still feeling down about the whole destined death being stolen and thinking he failed Marika was kind of wholesome. A real Chad like Rick picks up those around them.
One thing that seems to make Maliketh so op is that not only does he have insanely high dps, he has some unusually high poise damage to boot as well. A few hits are enough to break the stance of many of the bosses here
A shame he misses so many of those overhead attacks. They should be faster and have their hitbox increased. But yeah, Maliketh and Godfrey deal by far the most poise damage, and it isn't even close. Both only ever need 2-3 hits to shatter everything's poise. He even managed to poise break Fortissax, which I've never seen before as those dragons have insane poise, like 300 or more.
What's always really made me get excited for Maliketh fights is because with him it doesn't just feel like RNG a lot of the time: it feels like everything he does is perfectly calculated, well chosen, he seems to actively dodge some of the more dangerous moves like jumping over Radagon's slam or Malenia's rot, etc. It feels like watching a true pro in action. Of course it's also sad how often he tends to get poise-broken and his fairly small health pool comes into play. But when he shines it's downright exciting to watch.
Apart from Destined Death, what makes Maliketh lethal even on simulation is his tendency to jump away as default action, instead of simply repositioning while still in shooting range like other bosses do. Also he likes to attack from the air, effectively avoiding damage from earth-bound attacks.
That rng against Malenia's phase 2 was way too good. She started 50% instead of 80% and he did flying multiple slash which does 50% of all bosses, effectively clearing her out without her even finishing her first move...
No and yes. She'd always start with approximately 50% if the attack that brings her first phase down applies destined death (tested with Black Knife AoW + Maliketh's Black Blade). It isn't very uncommon. The reason she had health reduced was due to the overall reduction and the additional DoT. Maliketh's damage is still greater than Malenia's. Where Maliketh generally loses is when he gets rotted or poise-broken late. The slash isn't Maliketh's strongest attack. The best ones are those for which his blade glows gold.
@@Count.Saruman yes, making it the absolute best rng for Maliketh. And that multi hit mid air projectile slashes attack is the single strongest attack in the game... no questions. It does literally 50% to 60% of ANY end game boss in the game and it never misses. She started with 50% and he did that move, she effectively died before going out of her flower attack because of the phase fuckery. She has never lost a single round if only her phase 2 goes vs Maliketh, even when Maliketh starts full hp in phase 2.
@@s8theninjawarrior916 That's why I don't like her bloom in Maliketh fights. She either lands it and kills him or misses it and she dies before she can stand up. One move decides the outcome of the fight. It would be nice to see her fight Maliketh without the bloom.
@@min24434 YES!! More often should that happen, as I said, only a few times has that happened on RU-vid and Malenia's 2 just always wins but there are only like 4 times in total where this happened on youtube
@@s8theninjawarrior916 Yeah she rarely misses it even against Maliketh with his mobility but it makes some of the fights a bit boring and predictable. I do believe she will be fine without it tbh. It's not like her other attacks aren't OP or anything so... I don't think I have ever seen her without it. If you know some videos where she doesn't use her phase transition move against Maliketh link them. I would love to see it.
He's able to climb the pillars in his own room in order to use either a ranged attack or a melee attack, it didn't really make sense for him to just use it in the air here but eh
Maliketh with good RNG is the most dangerous enemy. Maliketh with shit RNG can literally lose to Rennala, and no that's not an exaggeration, I've seen it happen.
@@TheStraightestWhitest Yep, this is the truth. Maliketh is the definition of a glass cannon. RNG can make the difference between flawless victory and instant loss.
@@Nameless_Godzilla He may actually have some sort of AI recognizing the Aeonia since it's a move the player can perform too. Whenever he's in his own arena, he dodges that shit.
"Oh Death. Become my blade once more" - (Maliketh, the Black Blade). The one true embodiment of Death should most definitely be a title worthy of thy name...Maliketh, the Blade Blade.
This is probably extremely disproportionate but I'd like to imagine this is a pretty close representation of his prime. Death of the Demigods for a reason.
It's not disproportionate. Malenia is well below him lore wise and has 34k hp and heals 2500hp per hit, so him having 50k health isn't crazy. What's crazy is that he's the size of Radahn but doesn't have at least 160 poise, instead having the same amount as Malenia (80), who is a tenth his size, a tenth as strong physically, and moves fifty times faster and dodges way more.
@@TheStraightestWhitest"heals 2500 HP per hit" lmaoooooooo she heals less than 2k HP with entire Waterfowl Dance. With regular attacks she heals about 300 HP.
@@suchar7175 I got video evidence of me hitting her for 2644 damage from full health with the Giant Braid Ash of War, and her healing back to full hitting the host in co-op with a single thrust attack, meaning she healed at least 2644 health. So you are wrong. She had accumulated over 24k damage before going into second phase, even though she has only 18k health. She healed 6k at least, and all she landed were five swipes before the waterfowl which do indeed only heal her around 300-500 health. But even without that, she would've been dead by 15:24. And Waterfowl kept her in the fight for another 4k health. It definitely heals more than 2k. More around 4-8k if most or all of it connects. I've been spam helping hosts kill her the last two days like a budget Let Me Solo Her. I think I know more about her than you. And one thing I've noticed is that even on a fire build which is her weakness dealing 1101 AR on NG, I cannot out DPS her healing if the host or another phantom gets hit too often, especially if they block her attacks and therefore get hit more. A grab heals for easily 3k or more. The thrust and downward sweeps easily close to that or also 3k. The upward and skywards sweeps heal around 2k. Waterfowl averages on around 4-6k, with a bit more than that if she connects with all of it (very rare), or hits more than one player. Not sure why you're excusing a boss healing hundreds of health per swipe, all of which come out in a third of a second to begin with, but there it is.
Rick, Soldier of God spared malekith the embarrassment of losing immediately due to malekiths years of good deeds for Rick. If it weren’t for malekith doing his job all these years he would’ve seen the wrath of the almighty Rick and this video wouldn’t even get a chance to start before he perished.
Lolz at Horax-Loux's bodyslam that made it look like Mali was just on an invisible elevator for a second. Also, what a badass, just tossing Destined Death at Elden Beaat while it was charging up its biggest attack. Same with Malenia's Scarlet bloom. Probably the most badass boss.......
This is nearly impossible since more than half the videos done show that Malenia can take him by herself especially in her second phase and so can the fire giant. It was good to see it can be done.
@@AlaEddin-lb7vl Malenia has two things that obliterate most of the crowd early on in either phase: her opening sword volley and then the scarlet bloom. Maliketh has the ability to dodge either but if she catches him the battle is hers. Its highly talked about what a cheese it is which is why they gave her the 'I've never known defeat,' line.
Fortissax barely hit Maliketh with that lightning, so he might be alright. But whoever would fight him would have to put him down fast. Gideon might be able to if he just spams comet.
If you could deathblight bosses that would make it too strong. Everyone would use it then it wouldnt be any fun. It also says it works specifically on tarnished so they would have to mod in somehow the game seeing the bosses as tarnished which idk if thats possible.
Lore accurate Maliketh vs the gameplay versions of the bosses. Tbh From needs to give us this kind of mode in the DLC. A survival mode gauntlet would be sick.

Could you make 5xhp Dragonlord, Godfrey and Radagon too? I think Loux, Malenia, Doggo, Placi and Radagon is strongest in lore, so I want to see other ones fighting too.
Heh, Mohg was a second away from finishing his ritual, Morgott spent more time phase changing then fighting, Placidusax could not get a single attack in, Fire Giant was eaten alive by the Destined Death and Malenias Anime Powers failed her entirely all in all very entertaining
