I play Affinity in Timeless and Historic, and i can't stress enough how good Candy Trail is in these builds, or Witching Well since you're mono blue. It acts as Thoughtcast not being in the format and is just as good if not better. It helps with one land hands, it scrys away useless lands, it searches for more Synthesizer gas and it just gets you on curve right, as you never want to be wasting a turn in these faster formats. Icing on the cake, its extra cards when sacrificed. I cannot overstate how many times this card made the difference in winning the game instead of losing it. Try it out and you will see!
