I had a great reader question today that I thought I would share with you! She was wondering if her female Muscovy ducks could be bred to her Khaki Campbell drake.
The answer is that YES - breeding Muscovies to other types of ducks does result in eggs that can be hatched and raised! However, the ducklings from such a breeding will grow up to lay infertile eggs as adults - it's called "hybrid sterility."
Learn more about what types of ducks can be inter-bred to produce fertile offspring, and why! (Psst...Did you know that a Muscovy isn't technically a duck? True story!)
