Hope you enjoy everyone. Apologies for the auto focus in the video. I had a bad scratch on my lens which caused me a bit of grief with the footage. Hopefully the story can pull it through and I'll get onto fixing that scratch for my next video.

Mate that sounds fantastic! Nothing better then getting the little kids out camping. Though I'd recommend starting off somewhere else besides snow haha. That was great mate. I really enjoy your storytelling. Good effort for your first snow camp. It's tough enough doing solo, so I have no idea how you do it with 2 kids haha.
Cheers scotty. Yeah it can be hard and at times i become the stereotypical grumpy dad grumbling bout the kids 😆 but seeing them learning so much from the natural world makes it all worth it. That and I always have a little time to myself at night round the fire with a hearty stout.

Thats great! Really happy you were able to come accross the channel and thanks for watching. You are right, my family often gets out and enjoys things without using up much money. I will say when it comes to snow camping that it does pay to have a good sleeping bag and insulated mat 😂
Well done, Luke. I did something similar with my two boys in Kosciuszko and had a similar experience. You did an awesome job, mate. My only advice when it comes to winter camping and kids is not making do with non-winter temp rated worn clothes or sleep systems. Their experience will be shaped by their lack of confort, and they won't have the amazing experience you had hoped they would. Good thermals, and layering, is essential, as is keeping them (and you) dry. Glad you intend to head back. Hopefully we'll get another good snow year. Good on ya, Luke 👍
Cheers Warren. All good advice and I will be certainly following that for this years winter. Good winter gear is not cheap, and we did this one on a bit of a budget, but I'll slowly be accumulating some 'snow gear' and not just 'winter gear' for more snow camping.
Awesome job! Hat off to you for getting your young ones out there with you. Even taking my seven year old camping in the rooftop tent on a good day seems to add an unexpected level of anxiety, so two in the snow is a mammoth effort. Memorable trip for the three of you!
An awesome video to watch; good on you for giving this a go. I've lived on the coast most of my life and this year was to be my first snow camp, but it didn't eventuate. I expect mine would have gone very similar to yours (freezing cold and no sleep). Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks mate I appreciate it. One of our harder camps that's for sure. Wet sock and wet gloves makes for crying kids in the snow .. but theys are already talking about going back 😆

@@TheDadventures Congrats on the new addition! I think the youngest age one of my kids went camping was 1 and a half years but that was far too late in life so 4 months sounds perfect 😆

It’s enough of a chore for us to take our children to the snow for a couple of hours, you must have the patience of a saint to take them camping in the snow😂
Start and link some crowdfunding sites, like the other channels that have the "Toast me a frosty, or fill me mug with heart" some silly line native to you, so we can donate and help. My dad groups would be happy to contribute to the smiles.
Thanks Christopher. Honestly at this point my goal is to just try and reach over the 1 thousand subscriber mark before I try anything like that. I'm very much a small channel and growth on youtube is very difficult so I feel I need to gain a bit of a following before I start doing things like that! But great suggestions that I will be considering in the future potentially.
