Is the Toyota Tundra 4.6L motor whimpy? Can my Tundra even do a burnout? I decided to test my truck and see if I could smoke the tires! This may be one of my most surprising Tundra videos yet!!

I can't wait to see how the 4.6 and 5.7 hold up in the long run. They are still relatively new engines compared to the 4.7 .... and the 4.7 is a legend. Both of these engines are so much better in every way than the 4.7 there should be plenty of million mile tundras in our future. Can't wait! p.s. .. if you ever say anything bad about the 4.6 again ..... I'll find you ...

Gotta try with traction control all the way off. It’s a 30 second procedure to do it correctly on my 5.7. It’s not as easy as just pressing the traction control button. I can’t remember off the top of my head the sequence but I know it’s on RU-vid that’s where I learned how.

@user-tb7rn1il3q

I had a 4 cylinder (2.7) that laid rubber all the time. It squealed very loud, even with a light throttle application. The reason why is it had no weight in the front and 4.36 gears. The 4.6 Tundra is geared too tall and has good weight disto for a truck. Put some 4.88 gears in that a Tundra and it’ll lay rubber.

They have anti slip turned on bro. You need to turn it off 🤣🤣 those damn trucks are fast as hell it beat my brand new silverado. My dad loves his tundra.
@diambis
@diambis 6 месяцев назад
I agree. Mine is turned on in my 2019 4.6L. I have never once spun a tire. That includes a left turn onto a freeway entry on wet and bumpy asphalt while I have that thing to the floor. They won’t slip even on bumpy roads while leaning. The Tundra is by far superior in that area than any other truck I’ve driven. All trucks get loose in the back one time or another. Never in the Tundra. Personally I’d rather have that than being able to burn tires.

Looking forward to the video with the traction control off. BTW what seat cover do you have in the back seat. I paid a fortune for my weather tech seat cover and it basically sucks.

My 2020 will melt the tires using the brake. On slick pavement it will light them up but with good pavement my truck hooks. They should hook its what you want.

Duratracks on dry pavement is a tough go for the 4.6 . a stock Michelin will light up like a Christmas tree , if you got a roll going , let off the throttle momentarily then punch it you would have it , that’s my experience anyway , although much easier in my mustang GT lol .
