Imagine chasing Southgate out for Potter though. I don't want Eddie Howe to get the job but he's probably likely to get it somewhere down the line in his career.

I completely agree need to sort it quick but some thing Eddie said in the overlap to Garry Neville makes me think he will take it he said he has loved living up here but it’s all Newcastle Newcastle and he has aged still taking it the intensity may have effected him last Dec when himself he looked ill. Having said that listening to Eales get the impression they have brought in Mitchell to help Eddie take the Pressure off .England won’t be easy either he doesn’t like the limelight.🌑💪

The issue is who is available to come in if Howe did leave? Look at what happened at ManU having to go back to Ten Hag who they were wanting shot of. Chelsea taking an unproven championship level manager. Thete is no decent managers available.

The way I see it, this has two resolutions... Eddie stays. Or he goes, we get hefty compensation off the FA and replace him with Poch I'm happy with either option 🤷

I dont think Eddie would touch it with a barge pole. He likes his day-to-day coaching role. I also dont think the FA would want to have to pay over the odds to buy him out his contract when Lee Carsley or Graham Potter would be free.

I'd like to see Frank Lampard given a chance. I think he got a decent tune out of Chelsea before Tuchel. Everton squad was shite; I think he can be respected by the players, and play a progressive style of football

I want Howe to succeed but have serious doubts about him as it stands. Say we get into Europe and next season does anyone genuinely think Eddie is the man to manage that work load. I’m hoping the new structure in place saves us from Eddie’s stubbornness. If it can be done quick and we can get an elite manager in I’m all for it

There’s no international commitment for England until the World Cup which is 2 years away. He could stay with us and get great success or if it doesn’t work take the job in 12-15 months

Like and respect EH a lot However, retain a nagging feeling that he isn’t a winner; he’s winning the battle, but the silverware war remains in my mind a step too far. Without Amanda there he is very exposed. Agree Sam that if we are 8:9/10 at Xmas and out of Carabo I can see PIF pulling the trigger Poch snd Mitchell could be the dream team but again, Poch proven not to be a winner either… Tuchel would be my choice if available to take us to next level, then Pep! More likely to see Mancini here first tho… Go on Eddie, prove me wrong and win wuh some silverware in 24/25 season!

Hope he goes, 4th to 7th going backwards. Dumped out of Europe with 20 mins to go with guff tactics against AC Milan, from being in pole position, didn`t even make Europa league . Far too many poor games last season and crap tactics. Injuries are an excuse ,you get on with it, same for every club. No European football this season, not good enough, get rid there`s much better coaches who are proven.

At least the football for the most part is entertaining unlike nearly every other manager in the world. Modern footballs shite and the thing I like about Eddie is he believes in the football being exciting to watch on top of getting results. I’d take that over winning boring with either a low block or tiki taka football any day of the week.
