I woke up to the tragic drawbacks of our debt-based financial system during the last financial crash. Through discipline, determination and Abby Joseph Cohen my financial advisor, I was able to retire recently in my early '50s with a bit of land in the Williamson act on the California coast and an investment portfolio that can sustain my daily living. I try to spread the word and encourage many people I meet it is possible to achieve the goal of independence. Living below your means can be enormously rewarding! Practice humility and above all, Invest in the financial markets with expert guidance.
I know this lady you just mentioned. Abby Joseph Cohen Services is a portfolio manager and investment advisor. She gained recognition as a former employee at Goldman Sachs; a renowned investor she is. Abby Joseph Cohen has demonstrated expertise in investment strategies and has been involved in managing portfolios and providing guidance to clients.
Well her name is 'ABBY JOSEPH COHEN SERVICES'. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.
Been debt free for two years thanks to Abby Joseph Cohen Services. So sad to see my friends in their 40s with car loans, mortgages and credit card debt.
Very motivational. I want to shout FI knowledge from the mountaintops but yes, I don't want to come off preachy. This will be my motivation to think of something I feel comfortable sharing with friends.
@rpjordan I feel you! When I first discovered FIRE I wanted to tell everybody about it and it actually put a lot of people off because it seems like such an impossible feat, especially when a person is living paycheck to paycheck. I think it's important to meet each person where they're at. For example, the FIRE message won't land well with a person who is overdrawing their checking account each month. But if you can help them address that single pain point it will build some trust and they'll be more willing and eager to get your help with other things they're working through. Even if an interaction is a one-off interaction, whatever help you've given them is still super impactful.
I try to make sure every employee I hire signs up for their 401k when they hit their eligibility at 90 days. I also make sure they understand that they have to choose the funds that they want to invest in.
@nomadicvibesofelle Thank you for doing this. SO MANY new employees don't know what a 401k is or how impactful putting money in is, and there's not always someone like you nudging them in the right direction. They're going to thank you in a few decades when they look at the big pile of money you helped them start saving :)
Gr8 job shipmate! I learned about FIRE after I USN retired (20 years). Glad you made it. Military pension is a major part of my portfolio, plus the medical premiums are alot less than the civilian sector. I FIRE'd at 52.
@rjpg Congrats shipmate! Subs or Surface? That military pension is SUPER valuable for those willing/able to do the full 20, not to mention the medical benefits for you and your family. Congrats on making it and FIRE'ing at 52, that's huge! Hope you're living life to the fullest in early retirement! Hope to see you at a CampFI one of these times :)
