Yes, it's a subcategory of it. Any proposition, or it's negation, must be true. There can't be something else. Some people really have a hard time with it and you see that a lot in this subject. It's sort of like when some theist makes some argument like "if matter has a cause or explanation, and a cause or explanation can't be itself, then the cause of explanation of matter is immaterial", some people are so oblivious to what the law of excluded middle is, they are utterly baffled as to how one could possibly conclude the cause or explanation must be "immaterial", and how do they know it's not some other option ("the middle"). In that example, if matter has a cause or explanation, and the cause or explanation is not matter, then the cause or explanation must be NOT matter (im) material. Theres gazillions of examples, but hope that helps.

But the statements are more informative of the truth. So the more informative is more true or provides a fuller understanding of the truth.

​@alexandersupertramp3326 In the realm of the natural sciences, it would seem reasonable to talk of some statements being more true than other statements. When measuring physical quantities a measurement given may be more accurate than an another. The statements regarding these measurements are themselves more or less accurate. Claims that measurements have been made are either true or not. A claim that my coffee is 90.2 degrees Celsius or 91.1 degrees Celsius it would seem exist on a rough continuum.

That is the argument; "some statements provide various degrees of truth."

Of course one proposition can _contain_ more true information than another. For example: take (A) 'Albert was eaten by a lion' and (B) 'Albert, the son of Mr and Mrs. Ramsbottom, was eaten by a lion'. (B) contains more true parts than (A) - assuming them to be true in the first place). If that sort of thing is all that is meant by 'degrees of truth' then - well, nothing profound is being conveyed. But I have the impression that more profound is supposed to be at play here. If so, what? It isn't as though each individual part of (A) & (B) is 'more' or 'less' true than any other. They are all equally, and simply, true. How can truth _itself_ come in degrees as, say, nobility can come in degrees? _That_ is the question.

Degrees is referring to how much of the wholeness or entirety of truth do we have. That seems to where the argument is going. That is in God the first uncaused cause where the wholeness of truth lies. That's what I was thinking too. But the fact that we have things like sufficient and necessary conditions etc etc, doesn't that make some things more true than others? If it's necessary for one to be a human to speak English "if he's speaking English, then he's a human" (I'm not saying that's a true statement or not, but for the sake of argument). Since the proposition "he speaks English" is dependent upon another, does that make one truth great than another? Idk

(For example: if 'humans are mortal' is true, that would include the truths 'Jack is mortal' and 'Jill is mortal'.) Certainly some truths may be more important than others. If either of these is what is meant, I have no worries. It's just that truth itself doesn't seem to admit of degrees. Best wishes.

When we say "good", it refers to an inherent tendency that is within the being itself. There is an inherent tendency within plants to grow. There is an inherent tendency within animals to survive. That's why we call food and other products that help us attain what we tend towards "goods" and services. It's not a subjective category. It's just noting that things tend towards an end simply because of their form.

This is why wood will start on fire, but water won't, they have different tendencies to act. In regard to diseases and cancers, they are to human nature as cold is to heat. It is not a subsisting thing, it is something that is lacking in the natural function of something, ie an imbalanced productikn of leukocytes. Remember that this isn't some abstract concept, these are tendencies that are inherent to the very nature of the substance being described. There are things that lack that tendency, whether from maturation being inhibited, or from outside interference, but that is obvious.
