Previously, we've had some of our SMASH PROS identify the character based on a single sound they make. This time, we decided to ramp up the difficulty by having our PROS guess the sounds of multiple characters at a time, in a single clip. How will they perform?

I ended up getting 70 right out of 75, but I thought I was so smart guessing Isabelle on the third round because of the whistle sound. Turns out Olimar and Isabelle just happen to make that same noise with different moves

@@eriklarsen6790 That’s fair. A game could have a grating sound that is recognizable, but it sounds awful. Well, besides being recognizable, I would say the sounds represent the characters pretty well in my opinion. The sounds like attacks landing are pretty satisfying. Also, clear, distinct sounds in fighting games is very important since you can react to audio faster than visuals.

Really liked this concept. Probably because it's sound effects made during a (multiple player free for all) match. As opposed to the random clips of characters that you rarely ever hear or remember. Great idea!

Lol, I'm a ZSS main and I guessed ZSS on the one she was in simply because I thought I heard a character falling out of her Boost Kick. Didn't see it happen when they actually showed the clip, but it's funny that ZSS's moves fail to connect so often that I make a guess based on characters falling out.

What would happen if a member said they heard every character in one of the “?” rounds? Surely if you guess 1 over it’s forgiven but probably not 80 over. Where would the line lie?

I'm shocked I actually managed to hear Plant's Ptooey _and_ see past your clever tricks of putting Chrom/Lucina and Villager/Isabelle in clips together. Some of the other stuff is really mean though. If you don't hear Sephiroth's one finger snap or ZSS's one flip kick then they're just not even there lmao. All in all, I think my total score was a solid Nintendo 64

I did this alongside them, I’m on question 3, before I see the answer, I’m saying this. Dedede, Duck Hunt, Mini Isabelle, Mini Ganondorf, Hyrule Temple (64) as the stage (After) I heard the stop sign from Isabelle and I forgot about Olimar… seems normal, but I don’t know how I missed Greninja. Also the stage was wrong. Damn I’m getting worse at these, or Panda is getting better

Oof, this is a quiz all right! Question 1: Banjo, Sonic, Luigi, Young Link (3/4 - I don't readily know the difference between Tink and Yink) Question 2: Pichu, K Rool, Roy, ??? (3/4 - Sephiroth barely existed, that one feels unfair) Question 3: Olimar, King Dedede, Greninja, Hero (3/4 - Mini now...that's cruel, I couldn't recognize Ganondorf on mini) Question 4: Yoshi, Cap, Richter, Robin, Mewtwo (3/5 - Forgot whether it was Simon or Richter with that clip, Robin was just a guess because I barely heard the female voice) Question 5: Mario, Zelda, Daisy, Bayonetta, ??? (4/5 - I couldn't make out ANYTHING of Inkling in that) Question 6: Lucas, Pac-Man, Palutena, Pokémon Trainer, DK, Ridley (5/6 - I missed the Young Link sound until it was highlighted during the guesses) Question 7: Samus, Jigglypuff, Wario, Marth, Plant, Dark Pit (3/6 - Yeah, I found that one super hard) Question 8: Diddy, Icies, Bowser, Byleth, Fox, Corrin (5/6 - Oh, NOW we have Plant...) Question 9: G&W, Robin, Ness, Rosalina, Shulk, Falco, Chrom (6/7 - I thought the voice sounded too low for Marth) Question 10: Ken, Bowser Jr., Ike, Terry, Meta Knight, Cloud, Wolf, Mega Man (6/8 - I mistook Lucario for MK, and now I can place the ZSS sounds) Question 11: Roy, Duck Hunt, Banjo, Luigi, Falco, Sora, Peach, Dark Pit (7/8 - I didn't hear anything very Snake-like in there) Question 12: Chrom, Bowser Jr., Byleth, Sheik (3/7 - I heard some stuff that I just could not identify) Question 13: Isabelle, Samus/DSam, Villager, (3/5 - No way I was ever getting Brawler or Steve, but I distinctly heard both Villager and Isabelle in there; I'm counting Dark Samus because it's virtually indistinguishable from Samus) Total: 54/75 Okay, more than 2 out of every 3, that could have been a lot worse.
