Robbie, I picked up an In the Bag FD and a confetti Robbie C mini. Played my first tournament last weekend in Colorado with 30mph winds the whole time. The added elevation adds a lot of stability to the FD and it just sliced through the wind all day, dead straight. Your videos helped me to stay focused, play safe when necessary and were a good reminder that it should be fun. Thanks so much for all you do! If you're coming to USDGC with foundation just know that I'll be looking for you so you can sign my FD. Your rule dude, keep it up.
Question for you, with the current UDisc Ratings update do you feel that the UDisc rating of rating x 2 + 500 is more accurate or do you prefer the PDGA magic sauce of A+B+C+D = rating?
So it’s pretty interesting, in a vacuum udisc feels like it is more consistent. However, they have openly said that they do not account for conditions. Other side feels more random, but conditions drastically change, how it plays… So I truly can go one way or the other
I think the big problem with the current rating system is that the course needs a rating. Like if someone who is low rated gets hot, it shouldn't punish those who shoot the course to their skill.
@@RobbieCDiscgolf I cannot wait to get home to throw both. Love the uniqueness of how they’re designed and always nice to support friends. Still mad I couldn’t play the compound and didn’t get to meet you. I’m playing Veterans Day weekend if you’re there I’ll say hey
Love the series, but I feel like it is exposing how wonky ratings are. My course is a 9500 foot course where -10 is 1000 rated. How is it possible that such a short course could have 1000 ratings available?
Yep and UDisc ratings aren't any better. Two local courses here both heavily wooded/technical and the one that is 1000ft longer UDisc has Even as lower rated - which everyone who has played the two courses knows the longer one is much harder. In fact it's in the same layout right now as MCO 2020 National Tour finale, I shot -9 and UDisc rates it a 230! It's like a 1030+ rated round by PDGA which should be like a 260-270. I don't know why it upsets me but I almost emailed UDisc, lol
