Eyesight on my 2019 Subaru Forester works great. Sometimes to good. Like it applies the automatic emergency Braking if someone in front of me does a quick unexpected lane change into another lane. But at least I can turn that off as well as the lane departure warning. In Adaptive cruise Control it has no problems in stop and go traffic at night especially on the freeway during evening rush hour. Maybe try it with the high beams on might get a quicker response since low beam cutoff is chest high on the dummy.
Most of these systems will stop right at a pedestrian or car. Having watched a lot of these “testing out my auto braking” types of videos this car did exactly what every other car does. Sometimes they stop quicker than other times.
What if you want to hit the pedestrian...? Like when all the idiots have a rally\protest in the middle of the street and decide to attack you. (Happens more than you think in democrat states) Would you just be able to lay on the accelerator to save yourself, or do you become a trapped victim in a tin can?
I Have two car in family Honda Civic and Subaru XV (Crosstrek)....the safety features like Automatic Brakes and Steer back to lane works way better on Honda than Subaru. Subaru is very slow to react for automatic braking. Consider Subaru as reducing the impact whearas Honda actually applies brake on time. Not happy with Subaru because my wife drives that Car.
you shouldn’t rely on it anyways, you should be glad you have it, if you’re worried about it not fully stopping the car maybe you’re worried about the wrong thing, should be more worried about your driving ability instead...
@@massi628 The main point is Subaru uses two Camera for all it's safety features which may not be so reliable in bad weather, Night, while wiper blades are on etc. Camera can only see properly in good daylight Whearas Honda and Other all Brands uses Camera plus Radar sensors which works perfectly in any weather for emergency braking system. It's not about driving I and my wife have years of driving skills with many different cars. I am just making buyers aware of my experience which is no difference than the video shown above.
@@rajendrashah7557 Except the system on the Honda doesn’t work well in snow, mud, or rain. When the radar sensors get dirty or covered in snow the system shuts down. So the point is no system is perfect which is why cars aren’t sold as fully autonomous. I got rid of my 2 Honda’s because they were over rated garbage.
I’d get the Subaru checked out. I owned 2 Honda’s and they were crap. I own a Subaru now and the auto braking and smart cruise control are way better. The Honda’s used to stop working in even light snow or rain because the radar sensors would get covered pretty quickly.
@@porsche558 the subaru system is substantially better, the only time it disables itself is if it’s literally downpouring and at that point i can barely see, nighttime works perfectly, i think this guy is just a honda guy or something
