Thanks for the review! It's always really windy where I play and I was wondering how accurately it gauges a strong wind in your face regarding club selection? Thanks
I have the S70. It’s a great watch overall, but the wind function is just ok. If I had to guess, it just gives you wind based on the direction you are traveling from weather reports. It’s definitely not real time. There’s been times where I look at the wind and it’s telling me it’s 7 yds into me, when the wind is actually going with me to a degree. If the wind has picked up or died down for a period, you’re not going to see that on the watch.
It’s great. You can definitely wear it daily if you want. It looks good and has a ton of additional functionality for other activity and give you health information. I love it
@@GolfersAuthority Cool. I was looking at replacing my Instinct with that watch as it still has very good sunlight visibility but has so much more functionality while still looking good in the spring & summer. It appears to be a good outdoor watch.
I still don’t really have many gadgets since I’m just getting back into it. I’m not sure if spending that much is worth it yet for me… I’m hoping to find out what you may value more for an average golfer, one of these watches or a range finder?
So the watch shows 122 to the flag and the range finder is 127…”right on the money”? I mean, no difference to my game, just laughing about the “right on the money”
A waste of money in my opinion, it doesn't factor in the wind or any other environmental factors, and it may even degrade your game with false yardages due to environmental factors. But good for completely calm days at resort courses with the most basic data available to play golf.
It does have a way where it can connect to the garmin app and tell you wind, but you do have a very good point! Do you use a golf watch or just stick to a rangefinder or nothing at all?
@@GolfersAuthority Thank you for your reply. I use a rangefinder and locally mapped weather, plus a cheap handheld wind speed measuring device when needed (before starting the round). In my experience, human intuition is more accurate than relying solely on digital devices. Hence we still have human caddies, but no doubt the complete digital solution that includes this human intuition (AI) is not far away in development! 👍
