I've always preferred fighting a WT E 100 over any British 183mm. I'd rather have them sit there for 10s to do 2400 damage instead of pulling around a corner for 1s and hitting me for 1900, or 600-800 even if the FV doesn't pen.

@@liquidsnake9095 not sure why they had to remove the WT e100 instead of nerf it even more. They could’ve gave the gun very bad pen like the 50 Foch b

@@cazinstan6235 I think the problem with that would be that the armour of many tanks these days was made so thick that, without gold, you can't even hope to penetrate it. They've "balanced" the game so you HAVE to fire gold ammo to be able to penetrate in the first place .. smh

Yes, same with arty too. It’s supposed to stop campers but it just hits mediums and heavies

with its decent mobility and decent armor if it just bum rushes you even though you have support, its a trip back to the garage for you and you can't do anything about it.

@@yurackjung9321 that never happened to me. Considering a lot of tier 10s have like 400-500 alpha it gets melted pretty quickly.

@@friendlyreaper9012 its more of a problem if the enemy has xvm. people would load up in their Foch b or 155 only to bum rush me and one other person who took a fairly aggressive position in the map such as the dip in qb's replay and just farmed 2k out of my stb then died right after. despite my best efforts of tracking him constantly when he just face hugs you and spams gold at ur turret I really can't do anything other than put 2-3 shots into him

I think QB meant something intermediate of the Foch B and Foch (155) - probably something between the Badger's alpha and the Obj 268v4's alpha

The Foch's problem is not the gun, nor the armor or the speed. It's the whole vehicle that's outdated, paper sides, slow reverse, huge weakspots, small gun arc and so on. You can put the waffle gun on the foch and it would still feel awkward to play just because of the way the tank is.

@@AMX30BB actually I would argue it’s purely the weakspots They’re massive and unnecessary on a tank so cumbersome If they removed both weakpoints (the rangefinder and the the tumour), it would have around 300mm effective frontal armour on the sloped plate. Enough to bounce some shots if played correctly using the limited gun depression, but also 300mm isn’t going to block everything in the game especially if the enemy is aiming down on it This would make the tank actually good

@@tomaspineiro9767 EBRs invalidate an entire class of tanks, and completely break certain maps because they spot the whole team 30 seconds into the battle. The nerf to them did effectively nothing to their obscene level of effectiveness early game

The balancing point was meant to be bad view range but they can still get 445 with the best equipment plus equipment 2.0 makes them even better. Yea sure half of ebr players die within the first minute but the ones who are good carry games. The maps of this game arent meant for the level of speed the ebrs bring

I dont like how they can spot everything within 30-40 seconds but they are already in the game so that wont change. I think their moving dispersion values should be increased significantly meaning they have to stop and shoot. This wouldnt even ruin the tank it would just mean they cant snapshot on the move 200m away

The problem is that it just has a hard time surviving. They say it's a sniper, but the accuracy sucks with how French auto-reloaders act for whatever reason and it's way too big and weak. It used to be one of the fastest TDs in the game and so it sacrificed side and rear armor. Now you have the feckin' 268 4 with vastly superior armor and speed just as good with a good gun.

That's a grind indeed

Well the T57 use to be special because of that. It traded armor, mobility, HP, and all that for that fast reload and fast burst.

T57 Heavy was special because of the burst, but it had zero ability to defend itself. Now you have tanks that have similar burst potential with really good and reliable armor so the fricking thing has to play sneaky because it's outclassed by most tanks now. It has terrible armor, but it isn't fast. It has mediocre gun depression and elevation so it can't even try to hull down that well. It's slower than 90% of the heavies with double the armor value and have massive damage dealing guns on them.

Sad.

The game has evolved. I don't think there would be as many players left if we didn't get new tanks. See how much the playerbase complains about another Soviet heavy/medium. At least now we have some variety in the tanks. I don't see any problem in premium ammo being fired at T8-T10. It's available for everyone so use it as you please. If you complain that players pen you easily then learn how to play.

VioletStatPedder - yes. The game has changed. Some for better to be sure. ..but not all. I for one think that wheeled ones were a mistake. And too many burst/autoloaders.

Except the Foch B is balanced because it has two giant weakspots, some of the worst weakspots in the game that anyone can penetrate. You can’t hull down in it because of the rangefinder, you have a low HP pool, the gun is French so doesn’t penetrate anything unless you fire APCR and misses constantly People talk about the magazine like it’s totally broken. It’s perfectly balanced because the gun is on such a shit platform

Exactly Foch B is garbage Most players won’t sit in front of you to let you clip them fully. Even bad ones won’t. You literally need to be playing against bots to have good games with Foch B because everyone can penetrate you into your garbage weakspots I’d rather be playing the Badger, at least that can block almost every round in the game

@@CrazyPanda688 I fully agree. Especially in Asia server where skill caps are head to head due to small population. Playing aggressively with the Foch B will almost certainly spell death. Almost all enemy tanks I encounter tracked me relentlessly even with the Equipment 1.0 and Equipment 2.0 patches + repair skill. Not to mention enemy light tanks, fast mediums and SPG's will zero you in later once you appear on the front lines or somewhere on the map since the Foch B's armor is bad.

Durability is not the reason why tanks have tracks. It's displacement. Weight is dispersed to all points where the object makes contact with the ground, or whatever object is below them. Tracks have a huge area compared to tires, which allows them to more easily get through tough terrain such as thick mud. Tanks are also incredibly heavy vehicles, so the tracks also help them not sink in to the ground as bad - there are some armoured vehicles that have tracks for offroad and tires for on-road, but I can't remember the name.

@@mazaltovcocktail You are right they distribute weight well, but that was not the primary reason they were used. Was an Army Officer for over 30 years. This is a myth due to a lack of understanding of the historical context of original tank development. Yes it reduces ground pressure, but they had the tech to do that with tires. I've Commanded units with tracked vehicles. The HEMETs we have have huge tires that let out air pressure and do the exact same thing, and can traverse swampy ground when relatively light tracked vehicles could not(IE M577 or M113 aluminum light tracked vehicles). Actually, because of the way that rubber expands under weight, multiple tire vehicles are much better displaced weight than many if not most tanks. When tanks were developed during and following WWI, they had to go over a lot of heavy wire, and they had to keep running under indirect fire and machine gun fire. In War College we went through myths like this in depth. Basil Liddel Hart wrote extensively about this in his book "Liddell Hart’s Theory of Armoured Warfare". So though tracks do spread the weight well they were able to get tired vehicles to spread the load, but they were never able to effectively get them to not get shredded by artillery, machineguns and wire. There have been improvements in this as our Stryker vehicles show, but you would never take a Stryker up against a main battle tank. The best modern evidence is in the desert campaigns. Wheeled vehicles weighed down by tons of ammunition flowed readily over the sands while some tanks got mired in sand wells(hollows created under sand when it blows).

I went against this last night only tanks left and zig zagged my way all the way up to it and just ran around it's sides and rear with the m48a2 and finished him but had it hit me I was screwed

A 103b is one of the best sneaky snipers in the game, the Badger is a fortress and can block almost anything when played properly hull down, a grille is super accurate, a 4005 is just memes when you hit that 2k roll. A 268 might be the only thing worse than a Foch B A Foch B has a clip and that’s it. Two giant weakspots on top that everyone can penetrate, garbage gun handling, no armour. You have to hope the enemy sit in front of you otherwise Foch B is useless I never see a Foch B on the enemy team and think to myself “oh boy I’m scared of that Foch” like I would be scared of a fv4005

That is not the point he made. A vehicle can be completely trash and still not be balanced. Balanced is a trade off, but some combinations make them almost impossible to be fun to play but not OP. Auto loaders need either enough damage to see a enemy tank off or are valuable to a reload. If you allow a tank to clip another reliably then the game is not fun for the person that died in 10secounds after they got 1 maybe 2 shoots off. Again just because you can clip a enemy does not mean the tank is OP just means that its not really fun for the person who could not fight back.

It’s why I actually prefer the 155 to the Foch B because of the massive penetration. The Foch B has some of the worst RNG I’ve ever experience on a tank. I had a object 777 perma tracked and the last 3 shots all failed to penetrate the exact same area of the drive wheel. My aim never moved whatsoever. And I was firing APCR which has 325mm of pen. Also bounced 3 off an E4’s lower plate which is statistically impossible according to RNG Even if I miss one shot in the magazine, two 750 alpha shots are still devastating to another tank

@@chrisi2348 You avoid being alone. If you can't get isolated you can overwhelm it. Once it unloads you can farm the FochB without a problem

@@FlaviaPitariu Ofcourse it depend on skill but some tanks are less easy to play some are harder. Maus/IS-7/Type5/IS-4 are really easy tanks to play instead of 10 tier VK and other harder tanks,those 2-3 tanks are first players HTs mostly. As i write OBJ-703-2 and IS3 1 v 1. Both players same skill you dont have much chance in IS3 for example,this is why tank stats are important too not only pure skill.

The Foch B has no useable armour so long as it has that giant rangefinder and tumour on the top

You have a really big weakspot on front with less than 230mm armor. And now you tell me why u don't wiggle your tank or why u even sit infront of a fv. U also could balance this tank in a single clip

@@Stevemoto701 Why sit in front of? Because the tank has no turret, so you have to if you want to shoot. Why no wiggle? Because of the atrocious gunhandling. That's why. And the unload time is 10 seconds. In that time the FV just easily moves to cover.
